Yeah, well, I like sappy happy endings in my fiction. If I want to see "person saves thousands, gets screwed over", there are enough real life stories like that around.

Sorry, but if I work my arse off in the game to get the best ending, it should be a perfectly happy one.

On the bright side, now that we know, it's easier to digest than if we had to play through 40 hours to see nothing but sad endings for Shep.

That's one of the points I don't get. There are people here on the forums who obsessively played ME2 for years, to get different imports for ME3 and just because. That's partly ( IMHO ), because you can get a really perfectly good ending for the game. Doesn't BioWare  understand anymore that putting only "You're screwed!" endings into a game will drastically lessen the replay value of it? Who wants to replay a game over and over just to see his character get screwed in the end?

I think it's kinda silly that the endings are the same for everyone. That's a kick in the balls and NOT what I envisioned when I heard about "Wildly divergent endings."

Mer.

Pretty much how I feel about it too... and as I said, I fail to see this helping Bioware's fanbase grow. It seems somewhat self-destructive to me.

I would maybe have taken a bit harder if I had not seen that "you should keep your end save game" post..

Smells like a DLC set up to me...... which I want no part off ta be honest

Though it could be well semi flowery if you actually take yer LI with ya that last mission (assuming they survive with you)

RotJ didn't strand Luke on the Death Star or some unknown planet. The film version of RotK didn't strand the Hobbits in Mordor. They all had to deal with what they went through and try to return to a normal life. ME 3. Nope, even if you spent 60-100 hours playing ME 1+2, trying to get the perfect ending, we'll still give you an ending where Shep is forever alone.

I think this was a **** you to the fans on some level.  I'm not even joking when I say that.

I'm more upset with the fact I'm getting pigeonholed...that even makes the replayability with different characters kind of redundant. :P

Say CDR, what do you see for your FemShep in future play throughs? Marriage? A chance to settle down on one of the planets?

Or isolated on a planet far away from every character you cared for?

Well, what I saw for my FemShep got poo-poo'd on long ago, so I guess she's cool with this.

My renegade broShep, on the other hand? The one who has lost EVERYTHING he's EVER had in his life? Yeah. He's gonna commit suicide.

If I hadn't read it for myself, I would have said you're crazy, but... I don't feel like you're too far off, to be honest. As you said earlier though, I'm almost kind of glad I read this spoiler - maybe having a week before release to let it settle in will make it easier when I actually see it.

I hate endings where your character vanishes to may or may not return or dies (looking at you dragon age). I understand it gives the devs free reign on dlc, expansions, sequels, etc but one size fits all open endings aren't for everyone.

So very tempted to hint this in the General Forums. It'll probably balloon out to over 500 pages. :D

Oh come on. Let them have their innocence for another week.

Edit: We won't even talk about the fact people are gonna deny it out their butts...

Yes, their tears will be so much more delicious when they get the ending on their own... I can see it now "What? This is the ending? That can't be right... I know, my readiness must not have been high enough!" *Spends 30hours grinding in the multiplayer to earn readiness points, beats game again, nothing changes.... RAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE

I'll second this, but only because there's a lot of people that really don't want any spoilers. (on the other hand, it's almost like warning someone of a sucker punch - I'm glad I know it for reasons I've stated already...)

And yeah, there's going to be a lot of flat denial, even after they see it for themselves. I also foresee a drastic rise in the number of broken televisions in days following release from those that jump to anger instead of denial.

That's why it's going to be so much fun to watch the reactions. Either way, it definitely kills any replay value from the prior two games knowing how it's all going to end so miserably.

Just had a funny thought, what if it's a social experiment of some sort on Bioware's part? Get us hooked with a great story and fascinating characters for over 5 years (i think?), then whamo... Psychologists may have a field day with this for years to come...

Note: I don't believe that to be the case, just a funny thought. (Edit: See, humor as a coping mechanism - it's all becoming clear...)

To my knowledge, In It for the Tank works for Bioware or EA, and will probably be in trouble for breaking a NDA.
