That's one of the points I don't get. There are people here on the forums who obsessively played ME2 for years, to get different imports for ME3 and just because. That's partly ( IMHO ), because you can get a really perfectly good ending for the game. Doesn't BioWare  understand anymore that putting only "You're screwed!" endings into a game will drastically lessen the replay value of it? Who wants to replay a game over and over just to see his character get screwed in the end?

I think this was a **** you to the fans on some level.  I'm not even joking when I say that.

I would prefer dinner and wine before that, at least. :?

On the bright side, now that we know, it's easier to digest than if we had to play through 40 hours to see nothing but sad endings for Shep.

Totally this. The endings killed the replay value for me. It's one thing if you screw up your vanilla play through, and have a dramatic or sad ending, but if you're going for the perfect ending on your imported, full ME1/ME2 play through Shep, why can't we get our happily ever after? Or at least give us some shades of gray. This is just dark and depressing no matter what.

Just had a funny thought, what if it's a social experiment of some sort on Bioware's part? Get us hooked with a great story and fascinating characters for over 5 years (i think?), then whamo... Psychologists may have a field day with this for years to come...

Note: I don't believe that to be the case, just a funny thought.

*Cackles maniacally*

I always knew it was a set up...yes...

Get me to waste years of my LIFE and all for what..? This?

*Bounces off the walls of padded cells, cackling* "I DON'T CARE ANYMORE!!!"

It's kinda like watching the entire movie Sucker Punch in hopes to see some sexi hot boob/lesbian action only to realize in the last 5 mins it won't happen....

On a side note where is this spoilers group?

To be fair, the guy who has actually played the endings says that he loved them and felt they tied up the trilogy nicely.

We won't know until we see the final battle and the final sequences of ME3.

EDIT: also, it's Anderson, Joker, and VS/Liara, not Hackett as said in the bin.

Alright so I thought about it.

So Control is apparently the happy ending. You rebuild the Relays, evacuate your LIs(some of the humans decided to stay), download your conscieness into a semi-organic body, and reunite with your LI.

This works. Right? Right?!??!?! Right.

Space Jesus back from the dead for a third time.

Is it? That doesn't sound so bad...

Of course, the Paragons who try and get the 'best' ending won't be happy. And Xoi said he prefers the 'Merge' ending.

Well the Reapers are here, they are destroying earth, multiple systems are on lockdown while Shepard is trying to get people to fight them.....I don't expect to have an ending where everything is all sunshine and rainbows.

I actually expected my LI to be killed in front of Shepard. or the final battle be a suicide run into the Reaper fleet with the strongest bomb possible as a paragon ending, and a lets join the reapers as a renegade option.

Agreed with Fluffy above... that doesn't sound nearly as bad as what I've been reading, but... I'm not seeing where you got it from.

Uh... I think you'll only see that aspect of the control ending in fanfiction... but I'm willing to grasp at straws if it means my Shep isn't dead of forever alone.

I skimmed it. Sounds fine to me. Just more unnecessary drama from the Bioware fanbase.

Fanfiction and delusions are a marvelous thing.  They atleast left it open-ended enough where I can do something like that.

Lol no.  Bioware didn't give me a happy ending so I have to make one up myself.

So no matter what you have to martyr yourself? Sucks if you've been a self serving d-bag the whole time like I have.

Hm. Will have to think about this...

I'm not looking for skipping, singing, nor rainbows, but I think there's room for an ending with shades of gray rather than just dead or forever alone Shep. I think DAO actually did this pretty well, and ME3 could've done this in much more epic proportions. We don't need a ME2 "everyone lives" ending, it would just be nice to have an ending that's a bit more uplifting since much more is sacrificed throughout ME3 already.

Ok, I didn't read the spoilers, but from what I gathered, there were two complaints.
First: The ending is grim. It says "you're sc...d".
Of course it is. It's a bloody Reaper war. You're not battling bunnies.

There was something about Ash/Kaidan/Liara showing up instead of the ME2 LIs. Of coruse they are. Remember when we talked about relationship development mechanics. Let's put it there again. They (one of them for a Shepard, acutally) are the main supporting role characters. The little adventures in ME2 were... well, adventures. If it does bother you, that's ok, just ignore the scene.

Well. I do think I might like the endings.
Same can't be said about Liara.
I think I might have to sack the Earth just to see her die.

@hawat333 Well, maybe you can say that some of the ME2 LI were newcomers, or just part of some "little adventures," but Garrus and Tali were part of the team before Liara.

Anyway, I'm sure I hope most of the game will still be fun. I'm looking forward to the squad interaction and seeing the VS again. And, um, multiplayer seems fun........ Sigh.

I don't see why it would have been so unrealistic/terrible/sappy to have an ending where (pretty much) everyone survives, but everything is in ruins, and you're trying to rebuild in a post-apocalyptic galaxy. Blargh.

My Shep would totally be the one to break out the broom and say, "Alright, let's clean this damned mess up." Lol.

See, that just sounds fun. It would set up a new spin off series quite nicely, too.

Then speculation will start over ME 4 and Shep rebuilding. BW wants 3 to end Shep's story. No what ifs.

The most beautiful thing that will come from this is all of the tears over fictional romances.
