@CDRSkyShepard I know you're not really losing it, just playing along.

But yeah, if this is all right (and at this point I have no reason to believe it's not), I'll likely be asking for a "happy ending" DLC too. It's been done before in at least one other game I know of...

Hehe...it's fun.

I'd be willing to help you set up a campaign, in that case.

One of my biggest issues with this is they Normandy herself. My baby...oh my poor baby...

Welp, this is what headcanons are for, I guess.

@Fluffy - I will. I'm...tired. Destroy the universe later...

Well, this really killed my buzz for the game. I'll probably pass on the Prothean DLC now. Thanks for saving me money, BioWare!

BTW., anybody want to think up what Casey Hudson will be writing about the ending on Twitter after release, when fan-rage blows up like a supernova?

I think first off it will be in the vein of "We stand by our ending, we don't give the fans what they want but what they need!". And after that causes another giant ragexplosion, "Well, you can always think for yourself that Shepard soon gets rescued by the Normandy!". Cue more forum rage.

They're going to get death threats for this ending. I'll bet my account on it.

Meh. I'm still interested. But I'll just watch the other endings on the Tube instead.

Honestly, if there is a good reason to post this spoiler on the general forum, it's to give a good FU right back at BW, because the reaction would likely be mostly a lot of non-bought From the Ashes DLC's. Hitting BioWare financially is always the best protest, which speaks loud, clear and with authority.

As I said elsewhere, I actually wouldn't mind seeing someone do this.  Just because this is going to be a massive massive kick to the balls to any fan of the franchise.  Just letting people think it over before they get to the ending would be doing them a favor.

A fair description... I've never had my excitement level for a game (or anything else really) drop as far, as fast and as hard as this revelation has done tonight. I don't know what else to say except I'm still shocked and confused. I keep hoping that maybe seeing it in person will make things better, but I don't see how at this point.

Edit: In all seriousness, I almost feel a bit sick to my stomach over it, as odd as that may sound.

I wouldn't mind doing it. But how would you go about it? Make a discrete title and link that pastebin site?

Still stranded, CptBom. It's basically a case of how sad do you want the ending to be. Kind of like if someone were to ask if you want your arms or legs chopped off. Both are bad.

That would probably work. Even if that sucker gets locked...the Pandoras Box will already be open, and you'll get multiplying threads. It would be like unleashing a virus.

Though, I wouldn't do it myself. I have friends who don't want to be spoiled at all...though I think I'd be doing them a favor, I'd be very clearly going against their wishes.

Is it possible there's another ending that just requires a second playthrough? Clinging to hope here, I'm sure the answer is a resounding "NO!"

Honestly I can't see anybody defending these endings if they were even close to being a fan of the franchise.  It destroys the universe lore-wise and also character-wise.

So now that there aren't any relays, there are entire planets trapped with no way to trade with each other. This knocks civilization back atleast a millenia if not more.  So you have billions starving to death and who can't reach their families or get home.  The Council Empire is dead and everyone in the Terminus systems are royally screwed too.

Character-wise, Shepard is dead in most endings and in the other one won't see the characters most people would want to continue their relationships with(platonic or otherwise).  So all those relationships are gone and are a waste.

Well the Reapers are here, they are destroying earth, multiple systems are on lockdown while Shepard is trying to get people to fight them.....I don't expect to have an ending where everything is all sunshine and rainbows.

I actually expected my LI to be killed in front of Shepard. or the final battle be a suicide run into the Reaper fleet with the strongest bomb possible as a paragon ending, and a lets join the reapers as a renegade option.

I'm not looking for skipping, singing, nor rainbows, but I think there's room for an ending with shades of gray rather than just dead or forever alone Shep. I think DAO actually did this pretty well, and ME3 could've done this in much more epic proportions. We don't need a ME2 "everyone lives" ending, it would just be nice to have an ending that's a bit more uplifting since much more is sacrificed throughout ME3 already.

I would like the rainbows and unicorns ending... as far as that is possible with billions of dead people. But for me the perfect ending is Reapers destroyed, Earth survived, Shepard survived, spends rest of his life with his LI. And I'm willing to work for that.
But with a guaranteed screw-over for the ending, I'll probably just play the game once, like Dragon Age 2.

BioWare really should get over this identity crisis, stop dressing in black and cutting themselves.

We need some variety! I think that a less than perfect ending would properly convey the magnitude of the threat that the galaxy faced. But by less than perfect, I mean some friends die, great heroic sacrifices are made, and it seems like the game is already full of this. Your perfect ending I'm sure is similar to most people's (and mine), but the ultimate sacrifice endings (like the Warden/ Alistair) and such are great for people that prefer such endings. And it would be nice to have something in between. This at least gives some semblance of agency to the player (meaning that we feel like we can control our outcome to some extent).

Even if the best endings still held some sorrow, if there was some actual happiness to be found for Shepard (and I'm not talking happiness through sacrifice, ty), that would at least be uplifting. Doesn't real life kick us in the teeth enough?

The guy actually dug through the files to see if there was any more endings and it was a resounding no.  Hence my earlier post being, what you see is what you get.

I don't think it's a good idea to spoil the game for people on the general forums, though. The poor innocents.

And what if this is a troll of epic proportions? **clings desperately to foolish hopes**

I used to laugh at the "preorder cancelled"-fanboys but after knowing bioware ****ed us in the ass pretty hard, i have come to conclusion that there is no other option for me than cancel my order and just forget all about mass effects.

Yeah...they're gonna find out soon, anyway. It's just a matter of the forums exploding tomorrow, or a week from tomorrow.

At least if it didn't get posted, we wouldn't get people denying it out of the wazoo. Might as well wait.
