I notice some classes are better at supporting the entire squad but at the same time don't rack up the same amounts of points, even though being totally valuable to the squad.

I'd propose something like this:

Ranked games, you also get a ladder you can view yourself in. You get to see score during and after the game.

Unranked, those who play just for fun and don't want to see how aweful score they rack up. But, the team does well and everyone's happy without looking down on any other member.

OR

Just a single option when you start a match that it's got a hidden score. And then you can also search for other matches with a hidden scorecard.

Well, that's my wish and I'm sticking with it

Sorry it sounds like you want a Multiplayer that is more competition rather than a "Co-op." This is a fun feature to play not a required feature or "Starcraft vs mode" Suggest if you want a ranking system that way stick to "LoL."
PS: Score hoars do not apply here since everyone gets the total exp and money.

Nah what I was suggesting was a way to hide the scorecard so people can just focus on teamplay and not who racks up the most kills.

I think your view on what the scoreboard should be used for is misguided.

In the end it's not about epeen or being at the top, after all exp is negligible and credits are from team effort. What it is useful for is providing yourself feedback on how well you are doing on difficulty levels and how well you play a class.

In the end every character carries a gun and every "support" ability performs a role to increase damage. If you for example constantly find yourself having less then 25% of points than another person on the team than you obviously have some weak spots that you need to work on or maybe the weapon loadout or character is not suited for you.
It's simply necessary for every team member to dish out respectable damage especially on the higher difficulty levels. Saying "I only focused on support and CC so I did my job" doesn't cut it in wave type gameplay since damage deficiencies will cause your team to get over run.

So no there is absolutely no need for any weird scoreboard hiding options. And in the end on a difficulty level like bronze nobody will even care if you do absolute mediocre damage, unless they are scrubs themselves.

Credits are actually what force any decent players to focus on teamplay. The scoreboard in that regard is completely meaningless as long as mission is completed in shortest amount of time.

If you know you're playing a support role why are you so concerned about your rank at the end of the match? If you want to rack up the points and be #1 then play a different class or a different way.

I think the score is helpful to everyone. I don't always remember who was who in the lobby when the game is rolling, and good/poor scores help with decisions later in the game. Such as if the team splits during crunch time and the other guys have 14,000, 12,000, and 900, you know who you can trust.

Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "support role." Points are awarded in damage done moreso than actual kills. If someone has an abnormally low score, I don't think they are helping the team in any fashion.

Well, I've been in so many matches where people run off trying to do heroics and kill the most, and in the end the whole match fails because they get themselves killed. And yes, I can admit I try to get as high a score as possible so that in my mind, I think people don't think me a poor player.

It's a whole different game when you play with friends and you know no one cares about the score, so you can be that support role who people depend on.

But, maybe it's just me then, being worried about people not thinking you a crap player.

True, with all due respect, score means nothing in a match. The person who sits on the flank and protects the rest of the teams side only gets a few points, but in the end, if he wasn't there doing that job, no-one could have got their job done and the team would be flanked and killed. Just because the score shows that you didn't do well doesn't mean that you didn't do well, and anyone who scrutinizes people for it is an idiot. I get to the top of the scoreboard regularly, but that doesn't mean that the people at the bottom did nothing for the team, it means that I worked one way, which got me kills, while they worked another way, which kept the team alive.

Usually the guy who has low score is also the guy who dies twice a wave and enables you to get the silver revive medal.  But I agree that score contains useful information and shouldn't be disabled.  Generally speaking, you want to be where the other guy that can play isn't.

Also a good point - score helps you determine who is more likely to need a hand if things get rough.

I've split my time just about evenly as an Infiltrator, Vanguard, and Engineer and I score 1st or 2nd each match. My friend usually comes in right below me as a Soldier. So, those 4 classes should have no issue not scoring points. I don't know if Adepts or Sentinels have any score disadvantages due to the class (any good Adept or Sentinel users feel free to chime in). If you play as the 4 other classes, you should have no issue scoring points and if you do, it's on you and not the class.

Points = Expeirence. How are you saying your being a /huge/ asset to your team but still geting almost no points? Playing an asari adept and spamming stasis everywhere I had a million points, as much as when I play my sentinel who just shoots everything in the face.
