So we can't get the ending we want after all?

So BW has told us that it'd be hard to get the best possible endings, but they always let us do with this game something that was unprecedented: if we made the right decisions, we could get the outcome we want. Huge spoilers ahead, you've been warned:

Current information states that regardless of which ending you choose, regardless of whether or not Shep lives or dies, the Normandy crew gets stranded on some random world without tech, Shepard will never see them again, and the galaxy by and large is completely boned for the next 200k years or so without any kind of good spacefaring tech.

To which I just want to say...why? After so many years of giving us control, why jerk it away from us at the last second just to force us to get a "bittersweet" ending. Not that I mind there being one present, and I'd use one in a playthrough, but not ALL my playthroughs.

Yeah, when others were cancelling their TOR accounts and saying that they were doing it because of the ME3 endings, I didn't follow that particular lead. Why? I didn't care enough. That emotional investment that I'd put into the ME series and TOR thus far (the Jedi Knight campaign is really well-done, actually, though I never "beat" it) had taken such a grievous hit that it fast began to go down by the head.

Now, if the pumps get ahead of the inflow of water and the engineers can shore up before the ship sinks, that'd be a different story.

Can you ever "beat" a MMO?

Now that you mention it...no, it doesn't seem possible. I suppose that's another reason why my interest died; I knew that there would be no real end. It's probably why I've always liked single-player RPGs and never until that point dabbled in a true mumorpuger (two weeks of WWII Online waaaaaaaay back in that game's first year doesn't count).

The narrative for the Jedi Knight does wrap up with a conclusion (and mini-epilogue) that finishes up the story arc quite well. I played through it during prerelease and enjoyed it, if it was a bit standard Star Wars fare.  The conclusion of the epilogue sort of plays out in a way that would leave a standard single player game open for a sequel (which sort of seems like a segue into the endgame content or possibly future Jedi Knight story content at a later date).

ok, still wonder why he was on here

Think of it this way, he's at home in his civvies, sat at his desk having a cuppa and browsing the forums like the rest of us.

This.  I'll also check them out while doing a build/compile or when I have some downtime at work.  I was busy downloading some Good Old Games titles yesterday and chimed in since I saw a question.

I don't follow this thread too closely (I missed say, the first 3000+ pages....) but I don't outright ignore it.

Haha, it is a very long thread to follow. I probably ignored about 1000 pages or so. Maybe more. It is always good to see that Bioware isn't ignoring this thread (even if you are from the DA team).
But everytime I come back and see a Bioware sign on this thread, I can't help but think we are in trouble..

At over 3600+ pages, the only way I could see anyone getting in trouble is if they started ostensibly violating forum rules.  Which no one ever appears to be doing in this thread.  For the most part it reads like it's people meeting up for a daily coffee.
