I am seriously in awe at how civilized the "whiners", aka, WE, are, compared to those defending the endings.

From what I have seen, we have presented carefully thought out reasons and arguments (after the inital shock-reactions), that explain the flaws of the ending, while the other side has either denied those points, openly attacked the group that is not happy about the endings, name-called and brought forth this petty argument about self-entitlement.

Keep it up folks, but more importantly, keep it Paragon! If these bloggers and those who think complaining is self-entitled whining come across as jerks, we can hold our ground much more easily.

I mean, we like Bioware and ME after all. If we didn't, we wouldn't be where we are now.

I agree. That's one of the very best things about this movement as a whole, and about this thread. I know I sure wouldn't have stuck around this long (been reading since page 877) if it was just some kind of flame war going on.

I do love BioWare, and I want to continue singing their praises. But right now I feel like that ending betrayed the trust they had with the players, and didn't live up to what we were told, and it's hard for me to say "oh, yeah, play these games, they're awesome" when I know what a crushing letdown is waiting at the end.

I'm not sure I'm enjoying the rollercoaster so far.  This seems more promising, but again doesn't really say anything.  I'm hopeful once again, though!  Hold the line!

Ugh, wish it was the 15th already.

Hold the line. Fight the good fight. I'm going out to eat.

If you select new game after completing it you can import your Shepard from your completed ME3 game.

I think the ending is fine. It isn't broken, it doesn't need fixing. That it didn't end the way people thought or would like doesn't make it bad.

It has questions left unanswered. So? If everything tied off neatly then there would be no room for interpretation, it would be more manufactured than it is now as it would have less player input. There's a book called "Rendezvous with Rama" written by Arthur C Clarke which is widely recognised as one of the finest Sci-Fi stories written. It's about an Alien spaceship passing through our solar system and our attempts to find out what it is for, who built it and anything else we can gather. At the end of the book we had not worked any of these things out with absolute certainty. That was not a bad ending, that was a realistic one. Not everything must be explained for something to have a satisfactory ending.

Why did you ever think that it would tell you what happens afterwards? These games told Shepard's story. Once Shepard made that choice on the Citadel, her role was over. She accomplished what she set out to do. It is up to the races as a whole to decide what to do with the life that Shepard has managed to save for them.

Jeeez! Another one. How many of you out there? ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL

I have a quick question. I had more than 5,000 EMS and picked destroy but didn't get the scene where Shepard takes a breath. Anybody know why that would be? Does TIM have to shoot himself? I wasn't aware I had to start that process on Mars so I didn't get the option. Sorry if I derailed.

That's what these people don't get - we're not making a huge fuss for the sake of it. We're not looking to insult people, on the contrary - we acknowledge that Bioware has done a fantastic job with the Mass Effect trilogy until right before the end. We're disappointed about the wasted potential - well, I know I am but it sounds like that's the common consensus.

I understand the endings. I replayed through and got over 5000 readiness points and destroyed the Reapers and got the waking up scene.

What I hated, was that they botched Thane and Kolyat. Kolyat, the only time that you see him, is almost emotionless. I wanted to hear just a little hitch in his voice. Even him commenting on your romance with Thane.

And Thane himself got forgotten. I would have loved it if your decision to help his son gave him the strength to at least not get ganked by Nightwing 2.0. Then following you to the epic conclusion with a little whoopie as icing on the cake.

That is what I am really pissed about.

He didn't exactly get ganked. He held his own pretty well and considering that Kai Leng managed to hold off Shepard that is saying something. There is the line where he says the assassin should be ashamed a mortally ill Drell kept him from reaching his target (which I would have liked to say to Kai Leng just before I blew his head off with my Claymore, then broke his sword with my FIST)

I promise he will not enjoy the experience.

Not a problem, although from my full paragon shepard (with that one renegade action on kai leng) I do believe TIM should shoot himself to get the "secret ending" clip. Cant be too sure since I never did play again after the ending.

If we actually do succeed in getting what we desire, I wish to say that I don't want a patch that will alter the current endings. I want a new one, with decisions that lead to either an extreme paragon or renegade choices for the Mass Effect universe.

For a romanced Thane it was def. disappointing, however, for a friended Thane, it was a great way to go. You should check out the thread on this topic in the "characters and relationships" section of the forums, Mythandariel. There's a great conversation going :D
