Well G4TV just gave a 30 second plug to the RetakeME3 movement. It was unbiased.. actually was almost slanted to our side in my opinion. Was pretty good :D

Someone, ripit-ripit-ripit now! And upload to youtube. Karma +100

I got the link from the g4tv thread somewhere here on BSN, I guess that's the right one (dunno if posted already)
http://www.g4tv.com/...fect-3-wrap-up/

Unfortunately that isn't it the clip. The one from the show has Sara underwood talking and is much more supportive. It likely wont be up for a while since the show aired less then an hour ago.

Wow...1k pages and counting... :)

Amazing that this is being discussed the way it is.  Call it a shortcoming of the game itself or whatnot; however, I think this may have just been BioWare's intent all along.  They WANTED the game to end sadly for the character(s) you connected with the most.  Heck, some people are saying that all the endings are hallucinations, and that the Reapers just hosed everybody, finishing this cycle of harvesting, etc.  Or that Shep takes out the Reapers and most of the galaxy with him, leaving only pockets of life.  Sure, we want the choices to matter so we can feel that we end the game whatever way we want to, but while there's supposedly no "canon Shepard" per se, the general story of Shepard is BioWare's, not ours.  From a gameplay mechanic, they give us all these choices to make us get involved into the story and get pulled into the game so we're more emotionally involved in it (more on that a bit later).

I can't say I'm too happy with there not being a happy ending per se, but I'm somewhat content with how it ended.  There are ton more questions than answers, that's for sure; however, I wouldn't be surprised if we found some sort of closure through DLC or later installments of the ME universe.  Keep in mind, while Shepard's story is over, the ME universe as a whole isn't done...BioWare said it themselves.  Unfortunately, the implementation is a bit questionable in regards to how the game should end; however, keep in mind while we're given choices in the game to determine how it should go, there are still specific "endings" or "decisions" that always need to be made (e.g. think about Virmire in ME 1, the recruitment process leading into the various team setups at the end of ME 2).  Those "final choices" always were there in each game.  I gather it's the fact that we're locked into choices that seemingly end in a terribly sad way that gets to us.  Sure it's somewhat a cheap way to end a wonderful trilogy that many of us have been emotionally invested into, but that's the beauty of it: we're so divided by this because we cared about certain characters.

Personally, I will say this: the ending got me close to tears a bit.  I've been a huge fan since day 1 of ME 1 and while I'm bummed out there's not a happy conclusion for our crew per se, I'll deal with it.

Still, I can't help but wish there was a happy ending...cause I know I myself would have (like so many others) gone for that.

Maybe I'm reading a bit too much into it, but it seems like a bit of a slip in the confident veneer BW is trying to hold up, here.

"Oh! Glad you liked the game! Did you... er... finish it, though?"

Thinkin' about making a stand-alone site about RetakeME. There's nothing to do in CDP at designer's deparment due to some marketing issues, but I'm tire of paying them money for nothing. So…

I really hope the developers don't feel offended. I for myself can state that I am not questioning their creativity in general and that I am a fan of open ending which gives the viewer/reader plenty room for own thoughts, but in this case it just didn't feel right.

I think if they wanted to go totally "metaphysical" the ending had to be even more mysterious.

I also think that at it's core, and even with Shepard this series has been about hope, free will, and fighting for a belief in....personal freedom and liberty. i'd be fine if the reapers were too much to beat, I can't accept shepard morphing trillions of people, by force, into  techno organic species......or trying to control reapers.

Shepard would say: :"Give me Liberty.....or give me death."
I know this.......I think a large chunk of the galaxy might also feel the same way...

something stinks here and it isn't just the resolution......there is something fundamentally wrong....

I am starting to think this actually might move something. I most certainly lift my hat to all people who held the line from the beginning!

Lets hope there really is something more to the end!

I described Mass Effect 3 to a friend lke this. I said it's like a Da Vinci almost finishing one of his masterpiece paintings only to decide to throw blue, red and green paint all over it in the end.

Hehehe yes. Kind of pathetic, really. They want to know if you enjoyed it even if you finished their own game.

Maybe they thought people would be happy with this ending (or at least not angry), and when they came with a DLC with another part of the story (AKA: the real ending), people would be happIER! And since, supposedly, you already liked the first one, it wouldn't be "obligatory" to get the DLC so it could make sense.

If that´s the case, I think things didn't come out as they hoped for. I'm sure they hope the DLC will make things right with the fans, but until there, I would consider the whole strategy a blunder.

Well, I certainly imagine that there are some rather frantic discussions going on at BW and EA at the moment.

What's the Child's Play total at now? Mine's stuck at $7145.

Keeping up with this has been simply inspiring. Looks like we're actually making progress, and if not, then we've at least done good on the charity drive. (To which I'm contributing once the next billing cycle on my card starts)

Just gotta keep on going. Hold the line my brothers (and sisters) in arms. Keelah Se'lai.

Edit- At TSC, if that's really the case, I think that would be pretty amazing. I mean, I don't want to see BioWare utterly destroyed over this, but hesitation's kinda nice to see here.

Hopefully they'll have issued a statement then so that we aren't all so confused. 1,000,000 emotionally hurt and utterly confused gamers might make productive discourse difficult lol

Well, looks like Gabe from PA got lucky.

Seriously, though, we may have some comment from the PA guys tomorrow or Friday.
