Hey, this is something that's been bothering me for a while.
Say that Bioware comes out with an Ending DLC like we're all hoping. How would people who bought the game but don't have an xbox live account be able to access it?
I mean, if this was Bioware's (not so) great plan all along, did they even consider these people?
Correct me if I'm wrong, as I'm by no means an expert, but you do need an xbox live account to download things like DLC and demos and such?
I'm on pc, so would download from Origin.

I wonder if we could set up a site for our community, where we could talk free of direct intervention and have everyone registering in it. This way we would have a better chance of standing together...

It's not as if I've anything new to say here, I just want to voice my disappointment with the (current) ending of the Mass Effect trilogy.
I'm feeling like I've been trolled. Big time.
I came to the Mass Effect saga when ME2 came out. Found Mass Effect purely by chance, I hadn't heard much of it before, but it read "BioWare" on the box and at that time, that was a big fat plus in my books because of Dragon Age: Origins.
Two days later, I had finished my first playthrough and ME2 ordered.
I have several Shepards of both genders ready for ME3 import, and Shepards who haven't even gotten to Eden Prime yet. The latter were planned out and are (in theory) waiting for one long uninterrupted playthrough, 1-3.
Won't happen anytime soon.
The ending of ME3 has, for the time being, killed off my desire to play ANY game of the series.
What's the point? Stopping Saren, assembling the Team, destroying the Collectors.... for what? There is NO difference. Even worse, every new playthrough is going to be saddled with the "WTF"-experience that was ME3's end.
Before 3 came out, I was wondering which decision would play out in what way. Now the excitement, the need to start a new character to explore other options is utterly gone.
The glowing god-child-manifestation-whatever with it's non-logic is just the rotten cherry on top.
Don't get me wrong, I will play 1 and 2 again in the future. I love both. And a large part of 3 is good too.
But this not-ending will need some serious digesting/headcanon/fixfics first.
And for alternate endings, I fear it's either:
1) this is it. This is the only ending we're going to get. No nothing, no secret ending, no DLC. What we come up with ourselves is the best we're going to get. OR
2) there IS a super-secret/DLC ending/Shep was indoctrinated/whatever.
The "real" ending/options will be delivered separately, without any comment to the community, and until then we only get cryptic nonsense. No matter if it's free or paid DLC, this would be the absolute worst kind of trolling, and imo a clear sign exactly how much BioWare values their customers and loyal fans.
I'll be over there, holding the line.

There is an Xbox live silver membership that it is free. You are able to download items from the marketplace but not play the mp portions of games. If you want dlc but have no interest in paying for mp I would recommend that.mnomaha wrote...

Yes, you do. But different from playing multiplayer, you only need a silver account, which is free. So all you have to do is set up a Xbox live silver account for free and download it.

Anyways here's my response to Hudson's comment:
What are your thoughts on the reaction to the game’s endings?
I didn’t want the game to be forgettable, and even right down to the
sort of polarizing reaction that the ends have had with people–debating
what the endings mean and what’s going to happen next, and what
situation are the characters left in. That to me is part of what’s
exciting about this story. There has always been a little bit of mystery
there and a little bit of interpretation, and it’s a story that people
can talk about after the fact.
It's good to have a story that people talk about, but ONLY if they are talking and debating about themes and the meaning of the characters' actions. If people are debating what the **** happened at the end, you didn't write a good ending. Would LotR have had a stellar ending if it all ended with Frodo and Sam about to be fried alive while the rest of the heroes were surrounded by orcs? Would Revenge of the Jedi have been greatly improved if we stopped at the Death Star 2 exploding - without knowing if Luke survived or if the Rebel fleet was winning the space battle? No, because those cut-off points provide no closure and at the end of a series that is what is most important, CLOSURE. We shouldn't have to speculate about the situation the characters are left in. We shouldn't have to interpret anything to figure out the immediate state of the setting, we should be told. We should be told that our work wasn't for nothing, that there is hope for those left.

QFT. Last week I was of the belief that Mass Effect 3 was the pinnacle of gaming... before they shattered my hopes and dreams with an ending from hell, where I had doomed my allies, my team, and my galaxy to death.
Because an idiotic plot device called a star child told me so. Heck, Shepard didn't even argue.
