I think it's sad for gamers who don't have internet... yes they miss what going to happen here and that's sad too but that's not what i wanted to say (in any case hooray for 10K for child's play, good work everyone, it will probably pass the 11K or maybe even 12K when i will post this).
I think it's sad because even if Bioware make new endings or come and explain everything like the indoctrination theory, those who don't have internet have to stay with theirs three color space magic endings because BE Aware Bioware never make theirs DLC available in physical format for Mass Effect, no Ultimate Edition like what they've done for Dragon Age Origins or DLC pack like Bethesda for Fallout 3, for them it's like the game they have in hand is a beta and the final release that will have the real endings will only come on DLC or in a patch.

But even if i think it's sad, i still hold the line till we have a real answer from Bioware because i can't accept the Shepard Trilogy ending like this.

She sends workers.  They help out with the Crucible, and there's an amusing Shadow Broker intel item about them.

We never see anything about combat-type Rachni being sent, so presumably she's acting nice in front of the assembled galactic community by only showing off the more peaceful forms (and is saving the combat forms to protect her new hidey-hole).

Heck, I was going to ask for someone to give me a link to the charity thing...but I'm guessing that by the time someone reads and posts it another 5 pages will have been posted.

I finished my first playthrough tonight and I'm dealing with mixed emotions. I like it where it was going with ARH! REAPERS DIE!! but...seriously...*gasp* as an ending.... O_o I want more...I feel there is more and I can't stop feeling that there is more out there. What of the consequences? What of EVERYTHING!! I loved the emotion I had going into the finale....but...idk anymore...I can't word it just right yet.....I hope something more is coming.

This has been driving me nuts for a while now, but can people please at least QUALIFY the whole "fairy tales have happy endings" comment? Mainly-- not all fairy tales have happy endings? Sorry, I'm a pedantic guy who reads this stuff. A lot of Hans Christian Andersen's so-called fairy tales have downright depressing endings. The Little Mermaid, for instance. Or the Little Match Girl. Hell, even Ida's Flowers ends with the flowers dead. Then there are Oscar Wilde's stories. The Happy Prince? The Star Child? And if you want an ending that makes you reach for the Prozac, The Birthday of the Infanta. And don't forget, every single person in the Chicken Little fairy tale end up dead.

From the looks of it, this is just a misscarriage of story telling. I mean really, if it requires convoluted explanations then that's a failure of story telling. This is a mass-market game designed to appeal to a mass audience. I didn't realize I was playing Mass Effect: Waiting for Godot or James Joyce's Mass Ulysses. Or maybe that's what the team wanted... they wanted an absurdist or surrealist ending. Me, I thought the ending seemed more like this:

This may have been brought up before, but the point at which I realized the ending was going irreparably downhill was when Shepard tells the starchild that we need to have hope, and the child replies that my presence there proves that we don't . except that the main reason I'm there is the HOPE that I can save the galaxy in a meaningful way.

I don't think people are being negative. Everyone is in this thread because we love Mass Effect and can't bear to see the trilogy finish like this. This entire thread has also remarkably civil, perhaps because everyone is aiming for the same thing.

Consequences are the key. They forgot what medium they were writing in, the ambiguous ending is fine for a movie, but I have lost the will to play through with another character because I know it's going to be more or less the same, unless I screw up really badly and the Earth gets destroyed (assuming you accept the implication that the exploding relay stations don't act the same way as the one in Arrival).

I can live with being indoctrinated and having these choices presented to me as the only choices to end the game. I can live with my Shep dying if my WA aren't high enough. What I can't live with is the poor send off to all the other characters in this game that WE HAVE ALL come to love. Hundreds of hours of interacting and building relationships with Garrus, Tali, Liara, etc.. All of them made the SERIES for me. All I want is some real closure. I knew it was going to be hard saying goodbye regardless, but not like this. Please not like this. I hope Bioware listens to us and gives us something. DLC sending a rescue team to the jungle book for my squad! But with the mass relays destroyed they are stranded. Sigh...  Sorry if I'm overreacting, but this series is my favorite series spanning across all formats of entertainment and not being able to have a proper goodbye really hurts.

We hear you. Given everything, there's no better place you could be - I know this thread has helped me keep my sanity since last Thursday after I went through the same thing.

I'm sure half a dozen others have said this by now, but welcome to the fleet.
