I think it's sad for gamers who don't have internet... yes they miss what going to happen here and that's sad too but that's not what i wanted to say (in any case hooray for 10K for child's play, good work everyone, it will probably pass the 11K or maybe even 12K when i will post this).
I think it's sad because even if Bioware make new endings or come and explain everything like the indoctrination theory, those who don't have internet have to stay with theirs three color space magic endings becauseBE AwareBioware never make theirs DLC available in physical format for Mass Effect, no Ultimate Edition like what they've done for Dragon Age Origins or DLC pack like Bethesda for Fallout 3, for them it's like the game they have in hand is a beta and the final release that will have the real endings will only come on DLC or in a patch.
But even if i think it's sad, i still hold the line till we have a real answer from Bioware because i can't accept the Shepard Trilogy ending like this.
That´s exactly how I feel and have been talking about. The end of ME3 is what we got from the box. Period.
Whatever happens next is not the ending of ME3. And some people won't get that content. Which is sad. And shameful.
I can't buy a detergent and, after I arrive at home, discover that one ingredient that makes it work is going to be released later. And by the way, if a detergent maker did that without explaining very well that that was the case when you bought it, would be in trouble.

I'm posting a response from Casey Hudson when asked 'What are your thoughts on the reaction to the game’s endings?' from this link posted earlier http://www.digitaltr...-controversies/
"I didn’t want the game to be forgettable, and even right down to the sort of polarizing reaction that the ends have had with people–debating what the endings mean and what’s going to happen next, and what situation are the characters left in. That to me is part of what’s exciting about this story. There has always been a little bit of mystery there and a little bit of interpretation, and it’s a story that people can talk about after the fact."

I can live with being indoctrinated and having these choices presented to me as the only choices to end the game. I can live with my Shep dying if my WA aren't high enough. What I can't live with is the poor send off to all the other characters in this game that WE HAVE ALL come to love. Hundreds of hours of interacting and building relationships with Garrus, Tali, Liara, etc.. All of them made the SERIES for me. All I want is some real closure. I knew it was going to be hard saying goodbye regardless, but not like this. Please not like this. I hope Bioware listens to us and gives us something. DLC sending a rescue team to the jungle book for my squad! But with the mass relays destroyed they are stranded. Sigh... Sorry if I'm overreacting, but this series is my favorite series spanning across all formats of entertainment and not being able to have a proper goodbye really hurts.
This. Exactly this. Same way I've been feeling for days.
I can accept the good endings or the bad endings or even the completely tragic "you failed and everyone dies" endings - assuming they exist, of course - as long as there's some explanation for them and I feel like the story is complete. Right now, what we have is an incomplete story with no closure.
And you're not overreacting at all. I feel the same way - every time I start listening to the soundtrack again, I start crying. People at work think someone died or something.

Excellent write-up from a game blogger who, as you can probably tell by the name, talks about WoW stuff a lot. I usually find the articles interesting, tho i don't always agree with their take on things. They seem to agree with the general sentiment here:

Quick question. Has anyone just stood there after the kid stops his soliloquy? I mean just stood there and stared at the kid like you wanted his head mounted on the wall?
Yeah. You lose the game. Just auto-fail, no cutscene, just THE CRUCIBLE HAS BEEN DESTROYED in giant letters and resume/quit/scream menu comes up. Uh, I may have hallucinated that last option
Still a better ending then what we got.
Hold the line.

Slowly, but surely the rest of the net is proving this "the end haters are wrong/whiny/too negative/ too mainstream"
is completly wrong and out of touch. Damage control is one thing, but to see denial on the other foot is priceless.
When you have something like Forbes agreeing with you, and other "mainstream" gaming sites slowly coming around, you know you have a PR nightmare on your hands.

Just finished...I'm kinda in a daze. I don't have really anything to say that somebody else hasn't already written. I'm fine with depressing. I'm ok with dark. I don't think depressing or dark are the problems I have with the ending. It just felt off and even though I'm trying really hard to be a fanboy and convince myself that I like it, I'm coming up short at the moment. So I guess I'll just say +1.

The gamefront one is awesome. Haven't looked at the youtube vid yet.
It's like the writer of gamefront is in my head. He summed up every reason why I'm upset about the ending in a far better manner than I ever could.
Pass that article around, seriously.
