G4TV Poll on liking Mass Effect 3 endings Update:

Not at all! - 84%
I did. It had the closure the series needed. - 2.4%
I'm not sure how to feel about the ending. - 6.1%
I haven't beaten it yet!!! - 7.5%

www.g4tv.com/thefeed/

Lets see.... math 101 .... 84% x number of copies sold = disatifaction

That would get my attention.
I think Bioware takes that to mean that 84% of us aren't clever and/or mature enough to 'get' the endings.

23k? I never thought I'd see the day. I'm a cynic through and through. I believe people are selfish, cruel and normally very uncaring unless it falls under the categories of convenient, or "might as well" To see people go out of their way, gamers, of all people, a group that is stereotypically selfish raise 23,000 dollars in a single day is beautiful. I'll be proud to see this through to the end with all of you.

Regarding the lack of response from Bioware, especially on Twitter and such, I can almost guarantee you EA's corporate lawyers are telling them not to say a word about it. Any response they give (as a company) is going to have to be worded exactly right and then will have to pass their legal team's inspection.

To whoever it was who just made that substantial donation: thank you. Even if nothing happens from all of this in regards to the game, you've donated money to a very worthy cause. Thank you.

Something just hit me. We do have more than 3 choices at the ending..

Let's go over them:

1) You let the husks kill you on the way to the beam (it's still a choice);
2) Instead of going up the beam, you go home to watch the Simpsons (or Futurama);
3) You let TIM kill Anderson or you shoot TIM to save Anderson (though he bleeds out anyway);
4) You either kill TIM or talk him into killing himself;
5) You let TIM kill you; (better than the color endings)
6) You Choose: Door 1;
7) Door 2;
8) Door 3;
9) You hit the POWER SWITCH
10) Youhit the RESET SWITCH;
11) You just ALT+F4
12) You get up and start screaming like a little girl;
13) You jump out of the windows (I actually thought this to be less painful than watching the end)

See people, we do have multiple endings. All we need is some creativity like the one Bioware showed us..

/Salute

Apparently it's also possible to turn and walk away from the creepy GodChild and fall off the edge of the map, becoming suspended in the middle of space and locking the game. I haven't tried it personally, but I kind of want to.

 Let's say that Bioware find it in their hearts to release the ending fix DLC. My perfect vision would be, first of all, that they scrap the entire starchild part. Next, keep the part where Shepard is brutally injured and has his final stand off with the Illusive Man and final conversation with Anderson, that part had beautiful emotional tension, Anderson was dying but at least you BELIEVED you had saved the galaxy. However I would like them to add in the cut lines of Anderson speaking about family, given your characters history with your LI and paragon, renegade scores; they could always record a bit more of Keith David for some nice variation. Next, we see a cutscene of the reapers being destroyed by the Crucible, keep the scene silent but with Clint Mansell's beautiful piano piece just the same as the original. Next, we cut to a brief scene of Anderson's funeral and Shepard giving the eulogy (And GASP! you get control of the dialogue). We are returned to the gameplay portion of the DLC where we are given the opportunity to travel to certain planets and have a conversation with each of the major characters, we get to see how our decisions shaped the characters, races, and planets that we came into contact with. Then there would be a final cutscene with a few of Shepard's closest squad mates your love interest to top it off.

That's something of what I would want out of my own ending of course. Obviously there would be some alterations. If you don't get enough war assets, maybe the crucible doesn't work and Shepard has to watch earth be destroyed right in front of his eyes (possible collapse to knees for dramatic effect), while listening to his squadmates dying over his radio. And maybe there could be an end where Shepard takes a bullet from the Illusive Man for Anderson, then everyone who wanted the tragic sacrifice gets their ending (I want that option as well) and maybe it could be Joker, Anderson, or your LI giving Shepard's eulogy at the funeral instead.

It'd be a lot of work to pull off enough varied endings to make the majority happy, but I really think that Bioware is more than capable of it and that's the real reason why we're all here, because we know Bioware has the ability, we just need them to take action.

Anyways, just some of my thoughts, I'd really like to keep the thread going with at least a little bit of actual game talk.
