Maybe instead of a charity we should have collected money for an SDK so we could mod the god damn thing ourselves since their so incompetent.

no way dude charity helps not just us but others as well

For once we should do both charity and a fund raiser for the SDK...

Seriously now, I just gave up any hope of Bioware producing an ending that fits the series properly...

I am holding the line and I will not give up, but I do it as a statement against Bioware's Consumer services and the gaming industry in general.

We're not gonna take it - Twisted Sister

"We are right,
 We are free,
 We'll fight,

Just watching this clip makes me feel better....

Im seriously annoyed with the buzzword "entitlement" right now.

We're entitled to our opinion. THAT is as far as the phrase should go. I really, REALLY dislike internet elitist snobs.

Same here. I doubt that they even know what the word means.

Snobbery + barely concealed ignorance = pretentiousness.

Can't think of anything more revolting.

The oddest thing about this so far to me is just how even the game blogs are responding. I saw one post a glowing support article for the endings less than 4 minutes after a scathing deconstruction of them.

Part of me has to wonder if a higher up just went: "well, ****. We can't afford to lose that advertiser some one rush out a dessinting article."

So I have a lot of issues with the endings, but one that really irks me is the Normandy landing on some far off planet...weren't they at Earth during the final battle?I would think it would lead to A) they get incinerated or B) they crash on Earth or maybe the Moon. Anyway, they only 2 ending options I had were both completely stupid. Blow Shep into space, heck blow her up, but to watch her end up melting away like the colonist in the Collector base...this is what my total pure 100% paragon choosing Shep gets at the end?? Also, why does she shoot Anderson? WTH is that about? I get no choice? My Goody Two Shoe Shep wouldn't shoot him...where was my choice in that mess?

I picked Paragon twice and then Renegade on the third to try to drill it into his head that he failed Humanity, he raised his gun so I didn't hesitate for a second to use the renegade interrupt. Much rather shoot him than have him commit suicide.

...I'm still ticked off at the final scene with (therearesomewhocallme) TIM. My shep was about 95% paragon, so it absolutely makes sense that my only option is to shoot him in the face and not try to reach out to him: totally consistent with my character. And not at all annoying that the VERY LAST REAL DIALOGUE CHOICE I have in the game with ye olde Blue / Red options are both completely locked out to me.

I keep asking Whisky Tango Foxtrot, but at this point I'm tired of the dancing and heading right for Whisky.

I too wondered why that last dialogue option is grayed out.

If it's locked to only those who don't have a single renegade point for the upper, or a single paragon point for the lower, that's pretty crappy mechanics.

Still, a minor wavelet in the ocean of misery that is the ending.

I had both Paragon and Renegade optons available to me all the way through. Well until I shot him with the renegade interrupt. Is there another one after that?

There was a Renegade interruption....when?!? I never got this. Maybe because I picked all Paragon options?

Before he holds Anderson at gunpoint, there is one final dialogue wheel.  I can't bring myself to load it up again to look, but it's basically a Paragon like "Your plan isn't working," a Renegade option like "you idiot!" and two "normal" options, one of which is like "you're totally theirs now."  I had to chose this latter.  There was also another "normal" option, something more aggresive, which I didn't choose.

Both the Paragon and Renegade options were grey to me.

Here's where it gets worse, hang on: apparently, if you choose Paragon, he doesn't shoot Anderson, realizes you're right, and blows his own head off.  But Anderson dies anyway and you have the same three choices with Godboi.

If you choose the normal "you're theirs now" option, he looks like he's about to shoot Anderson, but you can Renegade-interrupt and shoot him first.  But Anderson dies anyway and you have the same three choices with Godboi.

/headdesk

I don't know about the other options, but I'm gonna make a wild guess that Anderson dies anyway and you have the same three choices with Godboi.

I'm going to add my two creds here, just to have my voice heard, not that I expect it's going to matter much in the long run.

I actually was expecting something like the synthesis ending. The Reaper fleet shown at the end was too big to be destroyed without a Star Trek style reverse-the-polarity-deus-ex-machina. Reminds me of the ending I liked to Deus Ex (the original).

But this? No. Bittersweet is fine, Bioware, but bitter for bitterness sake? No.

Honestly, take the synthesis ending and make two changes, and you have what I would call a great ending to the series.
1) no blowing up the relays
2) Shep survives and reunites with her crew.

Few characters have earned their happy endings as much as Commander Shepard. The 'you're screwed either way you choose' ending choice felt like an artificial cost, especially after all that had happened.

And maybe I liked the image of Shepard retired with the horde of blue children referenced in LotSB...

It was supposed to show you TIM was controlling you.  But yeah I was paragon too, there whould have been an optionf ro you not to shoot him, or because it was the stomach he doesn't die.  Image IPB

I know... so annoying. The guide says that every time you talk with TIM during the game, you have to either pick the Paragon or Renegade option. I think it is around five times including the few at the end. If you do, you get the final one. I got it, but my friend who missed the first one (during the Mars mission) didn't even though she was just as much of a Paragon as me.

You've gotta... that's  just...

I think I'm gonna

You still have to shoot Anderson, but if you did all of the Paragon choices with TIM throughout the whole game (starting with the Mars mission), you can get TIM to kill himself. Anderson still dies, but you can talk with him... which you could still do if you ended up shooting TIM in the first place. So, didn't really matter much in the long run... especially considering what comes after. :crying:

Good for him.  You know, something interesting happens when you examine the logic behind such a statement: the implication is "Something doesn't bother me, so the opinions of the 40,000 people who can't stand it are all completely invalid, and they are a childish whiny minority despite the fact that I'm one guy whining about their opinion."

Ah, logic, we hardly knew ye.

You still shoot anderson regardless
theres no way to save him...
The paragon/renegade persuade and renegade interrupts are just to let you have that last conversation with anderson.

Gabe from Penny-Arcade

And Ben Kuchera is a journalist they hired to write for them.

As far as I know Mike hasn't spouted any of that stuff - it's been Ben Kuchera.

Yeah he shot himself in my game, I almost felt bad, kinda the same when Saren realized he was indoctrinated.
