Here is my story. It's about happy endings and real life.
I live in Russia. We had Parliament elections on December, 4 2011. There were a widesparead fraud in that poll (you can see a bunch of videos on youtube). So people were unsatisfied and started riots. We were peacefull and 100% Paragon. We want to do something good for our country. We united in groups, donated money and wrote petitions. Many thousands were working the observers on the President Election on March, 4 2012 and registred a bunch of frauds again.
And guess what? Mr. Putin has won again and now will rule for another 12 years. On second day (March 5) people were arrested, one of my friends is in hospital with broken arm. We've lost. Yes, that's a real life ending. We've run out butterflies and rainbows a long time ago.
I was counting on Mass effect 3. I thought i can escape reality to the universe where choices matter - even for a short time. I think, that was kind of psychotherapy for me. But then Santa comes and turns out to be a Boogeyman.
Bioware. i... i trusted you.
I don't say grim ending is bad. Hell, i like Dostoevsky and he wrote a pretty depressive books. But in the game about choices the ending must have choices, especialy the ending of the trilogy like Mass Effect.
I saw theories about indoctrination and all. I don't believe it. I think, all endings are bad. When i heard that Reapers moved the Citadel to Earth for no reason (seriously, WHY did they do that?!) i knew, that all that follows will be a one great plot hole. Unfortunatelly, i was right.
Sorry for mistakes, i am not friendly with English language.
I think i need more kittens to calm down.
By the way, my friend just finished the game. He is russian hacker. Angry russian hacker. I suggest Bioware to renew their security protocols.
