Decide which color ends it.
Or: End it with space magic

Ugh, I have to vent some feelings about this and I don't want to spoil the ending for my friends who haven't finished, so apologies if this is really TLDR. I finished last night. I was ok with the choices as presented. I thought it was an interesting moral dilemma. But then...
The control choice was right out, since Shep just spent the entirety of the game fighting against the Illusive Man so that this option wouldn't come to pass. It was also a kind of body horror reminiscent of the ending of Wrath of the Lich King; Shepard's consciousness stuck controlling Reapers for all eternity? The more I think about it, the worse the idea gets.
I was playing a Paragon Shep who spent the last 2 games slowly coming to the realisation that synthetics could be sentient; who united the Quarians and Geth; who taught EDI what it means to be alive and encouraged her to pursue a relationship with Joker. The Harbinger tells her that destroying the Reapers will also destroy all synthetics, so there's no way she would have taken the option that meant destroying both a whole race of beings whom she had come to regard as allies and an AI who she had come to regard as a friend. The Harbinger also tells her that destroying the Reapers will destroy all the tech they've come to rely on. This is what really cemented this option as a no-go for me. We've seen what the destruction of a relay did in Arrival; my Shep would not have picked this option in a million years, even though they illustrated it with Anderson and it was clearly supposed to be the paragon option. She would have even picked the control option over the destruction of all the tech.
The synthesis option is a moral grey area. Would the galaxy appreciate being turned into organic-synthetic hybrids? Would the peace Shep brokered hold, or would they turn on each other? But for my Shep, this was the only choice that made any sense. Sacrificing herself for a chance at peace fitted with her character and all the other decisions I'd made so far in the series.
OK, so. So far so good, interesting moral dilemma. I would have been perfectly happy if it had ended there. The part that pissed me off was that, even after all that careful reasoning, the citadel and the mass relays got blown up anyway. It left me feeling deeply unsatisfied. Then I went looking for what happens in the other endings and ugh.
There's no hope for peace if the mass relays are destroyed. The Harbinger only mentioned that as an outcome in terms of destroying the Reapers, so why does it happen in all three endings?? It made the moral dilemma pointless and cheapened the experience of the whole game.
Same here. I chose the green one because I couldn't kill synthetics after having them by my side for so long. The end scene, after the leaves, made me smile. I feared the mass relays would be destroyed at the end since I started playing ME, but I really hope all the fleets jumped before that destruction. Having all of them stucked in our system after their help would make the ending even worse
Also, I feel a little bit cheated. "All your decisions will matter"; "everything you had chosen for these 3 games will have consequences". I'm sorry, but if those consequences are a number of military strenth, it's a lie.

but... They know the importance of "word of mouth"?
Fans who get in their view, an epic game and a good ending will promote this game.
as exemplar. i have some frinds discouraged to play the game.
some of them were fans from the beginning.
is that what a publisher wanted ?

Well, what i expected as an "universe unite paragon with love for everyone" was an happy ending like in Star Wars 6, everyone is happy and party and fireworks and tears and my Shep survived, hobble across wreckage towards my teammates and get a huge hug by my love-interest ... and then like "years later" citadel "reopened", shep as the new ambassador for earth in udina's new furnished office (like on normandy; aquarium, the music, the ship-models, a bar like the lounge), Liara (love-interest) visits (with child), comm link to normandy to talk with commander williams, then walk around and visit the new embassies of the Geth, Krogan, Quarian and Batarian, meeting with Turian embassador Garrus for a drink and so on and whatever ...
... instead a child-ghost knows everything better, i die anyway, and ... i don't get it ... what's the point of three equal endings and each just sucks ... i know, my described vision is very cliched ...

While my knowledge of the laws of other countries aren't as good as that of my own I can say with 100% certainty that a lawsuit would never work.
Correct, although it depends on country you usually need to prove you sustained damages. So you would have to prove that by a sh*tty ending you suffered quantifiable harm. They can flat out lie to you and unless you can prove you suffered a certain dollar amount of damages because of the lies, any suit won't be heard.
Recommend we get back on topic, I am sure the larger this thread grows the harder they are looking for a reason to shut it down. Think about it, do they really want the highest view count / response count thread on their entire forum to be the one about how much ME3's ending sucked.

I felt cheated by the way the military strenght was used... I was sure it will be used to calculate losses after my big win finale, but instead number of ships influenced if i can chose synthesis or not...
Synthesis was my choice for the same reasons (saving geths and EDI), but it didn't feel right - I've changed all humas (and turians, and asari, and birds, and trees, and flowers, and so on) into machines...

Heh, yeah it has alot of rainbows. Personally I would be fine with a sad ending, if it alteast made sense and I found out what happened to the people I cared about.
BUT, the best option is if we had all these choices.
Rainbows, cloudy, rainy, stormy.... But please, no space magic:sick:
