So we can't get the ending we want after all?

WAIT JUST A DARN MINUTE.
The Citadel is a mass relay, right? Sovereign said so. The largest relay in existence, meant to facilitate the Reapers' quick return from dark space, right into the seat of galactic government to destroy it quickly.
If you take the control ending, the Citadel is shown intact, albeit closing, maybe permanently, but fully intact unlike the other two endings.
So in essence, the Control ending does not in fact destroy the relay network. Not completely, at least. Also, when the relays explode in the other endings, the camera zooms out and shows the relay fragments flying apart, away from the blast. The Control ending doesn't have that shot.

Yeah but it's just an one-way-relay. Because of this the Prothean scientists died by starvation when they entered it and became aware that they can't escape from the empty citadel.purplehaybusa wrote...

It would be the perfect olive branch to extend to EA and Bioware's waning followers after this whole fiasco.
Because even EA has to be scared at the prospect of most Mass Effect fans refusing to buy or support their games again.
I honestly hope that you are right, but I find it very hard do to believe that this is actually true.
Just about one week has passed since ME 3 was published and a few days have passed since gamers are complaining on this forum about the ending of the trilogy.
Lets say Bioware is aware of this problem since 4 days and the decided to fix it two days ago, why is there already such detailed information in that link available about the content and its release date?
Can you believe BioWare came up whis this in just two or three days? Very unlikely...

Another thing if it is true, what about people who don't have regular internet access, or don't get Xbox Live (yes I'm a console gamer). Surely isn't that unfair on them?
They screwed up anyway. Now it's their choice to build bridges or let us drown on our small island because of climate change.

I think, if we want to make them feel our disappointment, we should let them feel it where they REALLY care: their wallet.
How can we do that?
Unless we can rob their bank accounts, (not possible and a terrible idea to boot) the only real thing we can do is not buy anything else from them. Shouldn't be all that difficult for me at least.

here's an idea. for those so pissed off at the ending that they are returning their game. sell it to gamestop and any other outlet that sells used games. deny EA as much money as possible while we expand our army.

After hearing what Casey Hudosn had to say about endings, I seriously doubt the rumour about Truth DLC. From his words I got an impression they didn't even plan to make a DLC centered around different epilogues, so...
hehe what do you expect him to say; one its form a damage control - two they aren't going to exactly admit they held back the ending because of leaks - but more you look at it; more it looks like that.....

In my opinion, that^ is the most horrible thing about the ending. It is basically the game writers completely breaking down the 4th wall and literally chucking a sales pitch at us.

How about you jump to your conclusions on the ending once the game is released and not based on a script leak that is months old? Personally, bioWare would be shooting itself in the foot if there was no "happy" ending.
It should be difficult as heck to get, because you're fighting Reapers, not your kittens. If it's too easy to get (like "No one left behind, got it on my first run through") then it's pointless. Bittersweet? I would accept that.
Adds a replayability to it if you want your perfect ending. There has to be some consequences somewhere, this game is based on choices, options and morality. If you cut corners and expect the perfect ending, you're in for a surprise.
If there is no happy ending, I'm sure BioWare is expecting a trove of hate from the fans and maybe a huge drop in their profits because no one is going to keep buying their games if they emotionally invest players for 8+ years just to troll them. Would be a bad business move.
I need my happy ending, but I expect to work for it and I hope I'm not disapointed on how to obtain it. Even if I have to replay the damned game over and over and suffer through horrid heartbreak until I find the ending I'm happy with.
You can play the game over and over and over again there is no happy ending. theres not even a semi ok ending. Sorry to break it to you. I too felt like you till I made it to the end to find out nothing one does in the game makes any difference in its ending

Sorry to ****** on people parade, but this is just a rumor that's not very likely.
And still, even if it is true, it's unforgivable. Especially if we have to wait that long.
Yes its a rumor but from the same guy that brought us the rumor of mulitplayer dlc; and we know how true that became.

i don't like to have too much hope at this point, BUT....what rumor so far (at least in the last few months hasn't been true) how many of you were on the 'the end is a rumor' bandwagon a while back?

You're thinking the Conduit, not the Citadel. The Conduit was one-way, it was never established that the Citadel itself is one-way.

It would of probably been better if at the end of that grandfather talk you heard faint radio chatter calling out to Shepard as the screen blacked out. Now that would be a conversation topic and leave it open.

Also you got to remember ME3 was leaked; so as others and I've also said; they changed the ending and held back the real endings because of the leaks. If this happened; I'm actually very cool with it. They've created amazing game until the ending. Ending did feel very rushed - a reaction to it being leaked.
So why didn't they hold off on releasing the game? I'm sure a delay in releasing the game so it would be complete would have been better (and generated less publicity/rage) than releasing an incomplete game with the attendant fury and reputational damage that it has caused?
