So we can't get the ending we want after all?

I'm, not totally unhappy with the ending, per se, because it was a fitting and heroic end, but I don't want it to be the only ending. I have grown very fond of my Shepard and would like to see her build that little house with the white picket fence with Traynor. Therefore, I have come up with my own ending. This would only be available to people who downloaded the From Ashes DLC, but it would considerably raise the value of purchasing that DLC. It goes like this:

Shepard is given the choice - control or destroy -  but before she gets to make it, Javik the Prothean appears (he followed Shep into the beam). He tells our hero that, because his people were destroyed by the Reapers and because he is the only Prothean left, he has earned the right to bring about the Reapers' end. He tells her the Normandy has docked at the Citadel and she should go and rejoin her people. Shep can then have the choice to be the hero and say, "No, Javik, this is mine to finish!" or, tell Javik he's right and then make rthe decision - control or destroy. Shepard then shuffles off and we see her boarding the Normandy (maybe even falling into the arms of her LI). Cut to Javik and the final scene plays out, except we see Shepard emerge from the wreckage of the Normandy.

I don't really like the Normandy crashing and the survivors form a new colony scenario, but I can live with it. It could even open possibilities for a future game or DLC where the survivors discover their new home is not exactly a paradise and it will need to be conquered before being settled.

Until Bioware comes up with their own alternate ending - if ever - I'm sticking with this one. Shep lives! (She and Traynor even have babies: I'm sure there would be no shortage of volounteers for sperm donation.)

if you get a response, it'll be more of their non-commital speak

Yeah. You could ask a wall and your chances would be better for a propper answer.

Kind of sad that TotalBiscuit (the guy with over half a million views on his "Why ME3 Day 1 DLC sucks" video) boycotted the game over that issue, because he's thumbing his nose at the rest of us for being stupid for buying the game in the first place instead of joining us calling the ending out. :(

The other sad thing is, I'm not sure adding an ending DLC is even possible. The reason for the Day 1 DLC controversy was a) that it was charged extra, and B) that it was partially already on the disc. The way the game is constructed, if there was another ending to be gained, there would already be files on the disc to support it. There aren't, lots of people have already checked.

Hmmm. The way I see it if enough of us tweet them and they ignore us then they must have something to hide. But if it's not true, then they should just deny it outright. Right? :?

I'm starting to see rage and uncivil behavior building...it's not a lot, but it's starting.

Remember to stay focused people; the moment we rage is the moment they win.

I was thinking that this morning. Even just EA/Bioware saying they will match what we raise will show they are at least paying attention to us. Granted, at the rate this is going it may cost them some money, but so what? It's a way to redeem themselves of this mess a little while helping some kids.

Also you got to remember ME3 was leaked; so as others and I've also said; they changed the ending and held back the real endings because of the leaks. If this happened; I'm actually very cool with it. They've created amazing game until the ending. Ending did feel very rushed - a reaction to it being leaked.

I don't buy it. The worst thing that could have happened if the ending was leaked before release would have been... nothing? Writing and creating these "endings" must have taken a lot of time too, so it doesn't make sense to waste that time instead of using another already made ending.

I thing this is just a rumour and people is having too high hopes on this :(

I am no longer sure the ending is in fact the ending. I am well into my second playthrough and originally planned to stop prior to he end, but am going to go ahead and complete. Maybe I am being indoctrinated, or just delusional but when you stop and look at how the game ends prior to the actual 3 button deal it does not make sense. Bioware would have made it make more sense (I really do believe).

I am now in the camp that it is either a dream/hallucination or Harbringer is messing with your mind because he is scared crapless.

WAIT A MINUTE.
WAIT JUST A DARN MINUTE.

The Citadel is a mass relay, right? Sovereign said so.

Yeah but it's just an one-way-relay. Because of this the Prothean scientists died by starvation when they entered it and became aware that they can't escape from the empty citadel.

But it's STILL a relay.

Sure. Could mean anything or nothing. From my point of view, you encountered ReaperJesos, who said that it might be a good idea to place your hands on something that looked liked something you shouldnt touch. Then you expirienced the beauty of what high voltage can do to your body, and the Reapers set off. WTF??? The citadell then flys away with reapers. Where are they going? So you dont need the citadell because :wizard: is now with the reapers. Does this makes any sense? I hope not.
Hold the line!!!!

It seems like Bioware is utterly determined to ignore us, even with things like the charity we're donating to. They must be hoping that if they stay in total denial long enough, the problem will just go away. It won't go away, we'll make sure it doesn't. Those endings are unnacceptable.

your logic is sound.....but it's bioware that won't hold up on that logic.....

PAX east is in a few weeks....maybe we get an announcement next week after the japan release....until then it's damage control.....IMO

i think the common thread of the day 1 dlc and the other they mentioned in their press release was the fact that a character was included and has speakable dialogue and set spots on the ship and levels....

My friends are all starting to beat the game now and the reaction is universal. Wide variety of gamers and all hate the ending. None are involve here or at the Demand a new ending page. For everyone actively taking a stand there are 5 who are just too disgusted to even follow what Bioware is doing next. Tired of this vocal minority crap.

Damage control usually implies that someone is working to prevent further damage. Sitting still and waiting for the storm to pass is damage control of a sort, however you're still going to get the stuffing knocked out of you.

In situations like this, where companies (partially) trade on their name and attendant reputation, ignoring the situation could be tantamount to suicide.
