So we can't get the ending we want after all?

This game has only been out for a week. Are we certain that everything has been found? In ME2 the "perfect" ending was kinda difficult to get. You had to have full paragon/renegade, everyone in the crew had to be loyal, the normandy had to be fully upgraded and you had to get to the collector base within a specific time frame.

It just seemed to me that it didn't require much effort to reach the end of ME3. You don't even need high paragon/renegade scores. In fact, paragon/renegade didn't seem to matter much at all. All that really mattered was military strength.

I just feel like something is missing here.

Yeah but I don't think it was that difficult.
Also, IGN () already released an "Ending-Guide" where you can see how you can achieve which ending.

Negative.  The status quo of silence is still being maintained.

Hello all, decided to add my voice a while back but this thread ran away from me.

Can I just say how disappointed I am with BioWare. I bought ME1 on the promise of an epic science-fiction RPG trilogy where every decision you make shapes the universe you live in. They abandoned sci-fi RPG at the game and turned it into a science-fiction, action-adventure FPS with minor RPG elements (aka Deus Ex). They promised a end to Shepard's story, promised not to leave questions unanswered, promised satisfaction, promised that the choices I made through all three games would make a difference in the ending, promised multiple endings (16 different variations of the same ending does not make it 16 different endings).

All in all I feel like I have wasted 5 years, 200+ hours in game-play and $300 (AUD) on something that failed to deliever the promises given to me as the consumer. I can only imagine that the feeling that I have now is if I bought a brand-new car, only to find out not only was it an used car but rather a car that was built with scrap.

And I don't like being told I am nothing more than a; "whiny, ungrateful, entitled brat",or whatever the insult of the day is. Considering that brand-new games in Australia cost between $80-$100 you can damn well be assured that I will definately think twice before purchasing another BW game instead of assuming it will be a high-class, highly enjoyable, extremely re-playable game.

The likelihood of getting them to break that policy is pretty low. Sorry to say.

I don't trust those prima guides.  If Bioware is keeping a secret, why would they tell IGN?  I dunno about anyone else but I played my 1st run in the game and chose all the paragon options in all the quests I could find and still didn't come anywhere near maxing out the paragon bar.  It only went halfway to the top.  Reputation is easy to max, but the paragon score went up very VERY slowly.  So I'm wondering if the endings do change when you play a new game plus and build up your paragon/renegade scores.

My name is John Shepard.

Commander of the crew of the Normandy.

Spearhead of the United Galactic Fleet. Loyal soldier of the Human Systems Alliance and Spectre of the Citadel Council.

Friend of murdered squadmates, lover to a murdered LI.

And I will have a choice of endings, in this game, or the next.

The ending blew.  Bioware loves that the ending blew.  It's a sign that they've done their jobs as artists.  That's about where we are at right now.

Since it's all over the internet, gratz on all the efforts. 1096 and still going, nice work. Just wanted to say I am fine with the endings the way they are and as for new endings, not gonna happen. Usually you start a Modiding group if you want to change something you didn't like in the game. Why waste all the effort on whatever this is? I mean, sure there are people who didn't like the endings and it's fine. But don't hope BioWare will drop a free dlc with endings to make you like them.

Nope. I had the paragon reputation at max capacity. I also had all 12 crew members survive, and really, just about everything "good" you could possibly have, all the way down to having Wrex alive and saving the Ranchi queen; everything. Still got the same ending choices.

Bioware can release a DLC to continue or 'fix' the ending and fans will blame EA.

True, but it didn't hurt the games... much.

I never got over KotOR 2 ending and I'll never get over ME3 ending.

WAIT A MINUTE.
WAIT JUST A DARN MINUTE.

The Citadel is a mass relay, right? Sovereign said so.

Yeah but it's just an one-way-relay. Because of this the Prothean scientists died by starvation when they entered it and became aware that they can't escape from the empty citadel.

You're thinking the Conduit, not the Citadel. The Conduit was one-way, it was never established that the Citadel itself is one-way.

Also forgetting the Alpha Relay from Mass Effect 2 (Arrival DLC). Sovereign was (probably) only using the citadell to communicate to his breathren. Give the starting signal. I dont think the citadel itself is referred to as a mass relay anywhere.

From Mass Effect when Shepard talks to Vigil; 'How come no one noticed that the Citidel is an inactive Mass Relay?'

Vigil also notes in this conversation that Sovereign intends to open the Citidel Mass Relay to allow the Reapers through, as this will allow them to conduct a supprise attack directly on the heart of Galactic government. This would kill the entire leadership before anyone else realises the danger, as well as giving the Reapers access to all the census records ect. This is what happened to the Protheans, and why the scientists altered the signal on the Citadel so the Reapers could not remotely activate the Relay.

I was wondering... how many of our Asian fellows will come here to join us as they reach the "endings"?
I didn't even know this forum existed until I googled "Mass Effect 3 ending s**t"... I guess it would be even less popular with non-english speakers outside Europe/NA =/
Having them pour into the forums as we did would mean a great deal to our cause...

On Illos in your conversation with vigil he tells you that the Citadel is a trap, that it is in fact a giant mass relay that connects to darkspace.

I wish I could remember what Vigil exactly said. The mass relay on the citadel (the small one somewhere on the presidium - ME1) is a one-way mass relay the protheans built, which goes from Ilos to the citadel presidium.
The one which links from dark space should be the alpha relay. Weird thing is, it's a normal mass relay the whole ME2 game. You use it to get to the batarian system, and can use it to travel to a different system. Suddenly, it is used by the reapers to reach our galaxy.
In contrast, the Omega relay just links from and to the middle of the galaxy (where the collector base is).
Either I don't get it and understood it wrong, or that's another plothole

A week is really more than enough time to reveal all possible endings. Doing everything right, maximizing EMS via multiplayer, maximizing good reputation, doing every sidequest, importing a perfect ME2 save, and so forth, still result in the incongruent mess at the end.

I just feel like something is missing here.

Yeah, that's really the core problem that we're all having... :(

Casey Hudson trying to justify the horrible endings. "They would have been forgettable after all.", "We did this to polarize."

Trying to appear all artistic - great. Now, that is just ignorant.
"Oh look, this steaming pile of *** is actually modern art. Just meant to polarize y'all trollolol."
