I don't think it's up to you to decide, or make any demands, in regards to what people are allowed to hope.

If you put it that way, sure. I was just stating an opinon. I'm not dismissing the claim, just offering a different persective. After all, I did congratulate the community for it's efforts in the same post.

I think I can be okay with the light beam thing.  They are harvesting/making paste whatever.  Needed a way to get to the citidel, that will do.

If you read the Codex on reapers you find out they actually have Harvester ships that are remotely controlled by the larger class reapers. And I'm not talking about the flying horse thingies, since the codex states the harvester ships to be verry large

It somehow would be awesome if BioWare would sink into obscurity because of this.
Because, hey, we asked them to aid us and did all we could to warn them.

No, it wouldn't be awesome, it would be a tragedy.  That is unfair to all the people that work there, including the Mass Effect team.  Mass Effect's ending will never change my love of Dragon Age and more importantly....Alistair

Definatly don't want bioware to go, they make amazing games. We wouldn't all be here if they didn't. The fact is that if they games had been average most people would not have minded the ending. It's because the games were so amazing that it jurts so much.

Personally I want them to continue making games as soon as they finish fixing this one. I will happily buy more bioware games and ME3 DLCs (as I do want more game time) when they sort out this issue. If they don't sort it out then I def wont buy anymore ME stuff and potentially more bioware stuff. Which would be a real shame as they make such good games.

EA is the largest game software distributor in the world. They are not worried about some people on a message board saying the end to one of their games sucked. They sold over 3 million copies of Mass Effect 3, and although math isn't my strongest subject, I'm pretty sure that there aren't 3 million people posting in this thread. EA isn't scared.

All online polls indicate some 90% of the players are unhappy at the endings and want them changed.

Of the 3.5 million copies sold on the first day (in the USA) that would translate as some 3 million people unhappy at the game - just in that group. And the people who bought the game on the first day of release will consitute the majority of Biowares core consumer base.

So they have potentially lost 90% of their core customer base...no company will look at such figures and be happy. Sure, they have our money NOW...but future sales will fall drastically at a time they are trying to payback the $200 million they spent on the SWMMO.

If that doesn't convince you that EA/Bioware should be scared then consider this; EA's share price has dropped like a stone in the last week.

If it's not indoctrination or some other scheme the star-child segment has got to be the most herp-derpish thing in there.

"Look, I'm a little kid, not some dreadful space Cthulhu. I mean, I was, but I got better thanks to the Cruicible. It changed me, I must have taken the wrong turn in my calculations somewhere. Thanks for pointing that out to me by the way. Ok, so.... Do you wanna destroy us now, maybe take control or something? Hey, why not just hug and rewrite the DNA of all living things, that might be cool! Oh, and before I forget... Order/chaos, epic protagonist as cure to a flawed/lacking/decaying universe, you are the One who brings balance. "

Yes, Reapers. The dread and incomprehensible god-like machines from dark space. Wait, what?

Are you sure about these numbers? I don't think they are correct.
There may be minor fluctuations in EA stocks, but they have most certainly absolutely nothing to do with dissapointment over ME3 or this thread.

Not sure if anyone posted this, but here was the original ending. Before it was leaked.

Frankly, this would have been awesome and way better than the last minute Deus Ex Machina we got.

Processors was the name!

"Other subtypes of Reapers include Troop Transports and Processors, both
of which lack sentience and are instead remotely controlled by other
Reapers. Troop Transports vary in length between 200 meters and one
kilometer and are used to transport Husks to unconquered worlds and bring victims to Reaper processing centers. Processors are mobile centers for mass DNA harvesting.

That 90% is from a self-selected poll of people who specifically came here because they were upset. Far fewer people who didn't mind the end or enjoyed it will show up here. So we're getting incredibly skewed results.

The number of votes in most polls over this subject is starting to reach such numbers as to be considered a nearly decent statistical sample for a satisfaction survey (even considering the possibility of those votes not being all unique)... but even I must admit it's kind of biased... still...

It's pretty obvious EA isn't scared and will never be, they have a huge market... ME is just one of the games they sell, it will not affect their overall profits, but all this still is bad advertisement and that can be expensive. As they pay for good ads they must take into consideration the effect this protest and the visibility it is gaining will affect them...

I doubt people here believe they are sinking a giant, they just want to tickle its feet until it realizes it's better to give them what they want to stop it from being annoying.

EA stock has been in the mid to high 16s for several weeks.

This has not effected the stock price drastically, the reason it is down today is likely due to the economic situation in Greece and the problems with the Euro.

Generally the markets have been bad recently.

I bought EA shares about 2 months ago so I keep an eye on the price :) check out the Nasdaq website and look at the history, this isn't really effecting it to be honest. If it is, then it is doing so in a small way.

Isn't that a sign in itself?, Their biggest release this quarter and their stock is still going down slightly.

In my opinion not really, but that is just my opinon.

The stock market in general is doing very badly in recent years/months due to various economic problems across the world.

A lot of oil shares and banks are down at the moment for example: Suncore which is an oil/energy share is down 3.2% today etc.

EA is a huge company, sure this is a flagship title but it has already sold millions of copies, had it sold very few copies then certainly that could effect the stock price.

If you look back at the history of EA stock it has hovered at a similar level since mid January.

I am not sure why we need posts about posts about posts about keeping things civil. Generally most posts are just concerned.. if anyone took my other post as Bioware basing it was simply a question and a concenr.

I clearly state I thoroughly enjoyed the game. I am a huge fan of bioware and have basically bought every game they've ever made.

Has anyone posted the link to this article yet?

www.computerandvideogames.com/339608/features/mass-effect-3s-ending-why-the-backlash-is-idiotic-but-inevitable/

Speaking about the backlash, creator David Chase said:
"We didn't expect them to be that pissed for that long. It's one thing
to be deeply involved with a television show. It's another to be so
involved that all you do is sit on a couch and watch it. It seemed that
those people were just looking for an excuse to be pissed off."

What's more telling is what Forbes pointed out - that sales of ME3 on Amazon have dropped by up to a quarter of their price within just a week of its release.

The numbers are much less than that, I'm afraid. I'm not sure whether all day-one buyers are people who care about the story, have played the previous installments, and so on.

There was another statistic posted here, about how many of the buyers actually finish the game; and if I remember correctly, it was less than half for ME1 and 2. The people voting on online polls or posting here are still fewer.

In regards to the poll if you look at politics or complaints to TV stations (Here with the BBC at least) they always suggest that for every one person who voted in a poll, there a x-number of people who feel the same but didn't vote.

So going on that logic there are an awful lot more people who really didn't like it than did.
