Well according to this link in the big picture EA stocks are on a sharp decline since November 2011 und are slightly recovering since march 2012, i can't see any relevant impact ME3 might have had here.

Except for a couple percent drop the last couple days, they're down just shy of 4% after a major release, in a decline or no a major and highly anticipated release should bump stock up, not the other way around. We can see  a direct damage to their actual financials too on places like amazon where the game is being sold new in the mid-40s by many retailers a week after it's release.

In other news good morning all, happy pi day!

Priestly has without a doubt been the most vocal about his dislike of the fans in the past week. I've seen several tweets from him that has later been removed, probably at request from Bioware.

@manveerheir I concur the charitable donation is a good thing but I think attaching an unrelated agenda to a charity drive is reprehensible.

@Thessair @manveerheir Its a result of the agenda, used as a way to have something good come from the ending. No agenda = no charity drive

@dragonsamantha @manveerheir The charity drive should be the agenda. Otherwise the charity is being exploited to make a point.

@Thessair @manveerheir The charity drive = result of fan's sadness & made < 30k for sick kids I don't think they care why it was donated.

So is "Chris Presly" the same person as "Chris Priestly"? >.>

I agree - there's no need for personal insults. Keep it civil.

because game companies have never used charities to exploit their agendas -_-

all statements rendered mute, because charities are always being used buy people to promote them sleves, and will continue to be used in such a matter till the end of time.

as for the question wether people who set it up were doing it to promote the "movement" its in a gray area, because our promotion for one doest get us any kind of money, and the only thing we can get from it is satisfaction for helping other people, and the added satisfaction of somehow getting bioware to listen to us and DO SOMETHING BOUT DAT ENDING

the entire thing about art gets shot down by one thing

DLC, art doesnt slice up an end product and then sells it for extra profit later on at quite frankly insane prices

QFT. I don't recall going to the art museum and hearing, "Well, you can look at 'Nighthawks' all you want for the price of admission, but if you want the color green it's gonna be an extra $5. Another seven bucks will get you the streetlight." When I buy a book, I don't have to pay $10 for chapter 7, which features a new character and plot development essential to understanding the epilogue. There is no question that video games can be -- and often are -- an artistic medium, but acting scandalized at the idea of selling an ending for money implies that isn't exactly what the industry is already doing. Argument invalid.

Okay. So if Bioware has decided that they want to preserve their artistic integrity, or something, by not changing the ending... why don't they just say that? Wouldn't that be the smart thing to do instead of allowing all this fan discontent to continue? It isn't going to blow over until we hear something from them, one way or another.

Even if they have no intention of changing a thing, this isn't smart PR.

They can't have us wait for 2 years, bash us with friggin awesome trailers, hit us with tons of DLC and then expect us to seriously swallow this ending of five years of gaming history we all paid with money, blood and sweat for.

Exploited!? I see nothing but gain for this charity.  The people who started this charity knew there was a chance that we would fail in our quest for a better ending but they did it anyway.  How can this be seen as expoiting a charity.

We're focusing/aimming our rage into something positive.  Whether we get our endings or not we've helped kids. *shakes head* gah

I do not see this thread slowing down. If anything, it's picking up speed. We went from March 6th to 1000 pages in 7 days, not one day later, we're at 1100 pages.

I have to say, the media-coverage on some of these reviewing sites is incredibly unfair. I'm both a gamedesigner and artist, hell, I've won prices for both of those activities and these "journalists" call us entitled.
It just makes me angry. Not at Bioware, I have learned about NDA, the silence is frustrating, but very understandable, but this media-coverage painting us into the corner of spoiled fanboys is just unfair and brings about the wrong image.

I think the majority of dissatisfied players of ME3 feel that way, not because they want to take the creative freedom from BW, but because the ending, from an objective storytelling point of view, is simply poorly written.
What we have is a literal Deus Ex Machina, widely regarded as a cheap way to end a story, shunned by critics and reviewers in almost any other storytelling medium, but here we are supposed to just suck it up and move on?

I'm sorry, but as someone who is making creative content that I hope people buy myself, I would definitely reconsider altering or adding onto my product post-release if I can satisfy a huge group of people.

Besides, who gave those that call our plead "idiotic" the right to call names? They can have their opinion, they can bring forth their arguments. But don't think you can insult a huge group of people, just because they disagree with what you perceive as the supposedly right opinion.

Yeah, that guy doesn't seem to even write the same way that Priestly does. We shouldn't be so quick to rage, especially against someone who's actually done a VERY good job of customer service in the past. :)

Its because they are right. The idea of trying to force them to change their game because you don't like the ending is ridiculous. The best thing to do is give them feedback on why you didn't like it so hopefully when they launch the next storyline for the Mass Effect universe, they make some improvements.

you are assuming that anybody will be buying it.....

Nice to see Bioware and their employees being so rude to fans.

Reminds me not to buy another Bioware game. I will be voting with my wallet, and hope everyone else here will too.

Now.. what was that old saying about not biting the hand that feeds you..

All Sterling is, is the video equivalent of a shock jock. He gets paid to spew the most hatefull garbage he can just because it's part of his "writing style". He should just be ignored. *shrug*

the only games id call art is metal gear, and ace combat, everything else is just business, and thats business filled with unethical behavior that wouldnt stand in any other industry. well there might be some other ones there, but have sadly been lost in time and the medicore (funny how both of em are japanese)
