I think I found our alternate ending ../../../images/forum/emoticons/wink.png

SWEET! We have 2!!!! Replaying now that things...arent......so.......hopeless.

Shame is, you still only get to pick between Red, Green, and Blue :P

I didn’t even stop to think about how ridiculous that is…
now I’m aghast. They didn’t even have my favorite color as an option. Yellow…
fill in the blanks if you must.

What ever the reason is that they deleted the poll, it shows that what we are doing is working.
And they seem to be worried.

So my comrades from all the fleets, WE WILL HOLD THE LINE !

That was a pretty quick deletion. What's your bets the poll comes back shortly without the option of adding your own answers?

Possibly but it would be just as likely to come up without the ending ruined it option

Guys, first time posting in this thread IIRC, but I've been lurking for days.

I remember when picking between Squirtle, Charmander and Bulbasaur was difficult.

We got them on the run! I like to think of this song as our theme song. It even has an appropriate title. 'United We Stand, Divided We Fall' Image IPB

Mass Effect 3 director and executive producer Casey Hudson spoke to Digital Trends about what the team were aiming for with the finale. “I didn’t want the game to be forgettable, and even right down to the sort of polarizing reaction that the ends have had with people–debating what the endings mean and what’s going to happen next, and what situation are the characters left in,” he says.

just read this on a website is he forgetting this is the last game where you tie up all the plots you have opened up not leave even more open now if there as going to be a mass effect 4 with shepard I would understand his statement but they have always said there will not be a 4th game with shepard

If they just come out and announce an expansion or that they changed their mind about Shepard in mass effect 4 then there wouldn't be so much disappointment. The people just want closure for their sheps

Don't know if I should laugh or cry.

I think they wanted to avoid spoilers, or didn't like the "add your own answers" function.

I think the "add your own answers" function was an accident and they were doing damage control... it made me giggle.

Just heard on the facebook page that they took the poll down on the mass effect page. I really wish they would just discuss this with us rather than taking measures to simply ignore the problem or cover it up.

If it comes back without any kind of option to say you disliked the ending then surely that means that we're actually getting our point across? I think. Right?

Replies I enjoyed to the poll:

I won't post any with bad language so use your imagination given this sample:

"There was no Pokemon so I was disappointed :P"
"The ending touched me in inappropriate areas"
"Potato!"

And last but not least:

"I hate it when I'm playing rugby and I'm mistaken for Sonny BillWilliams"

Random to say the least.

I'm very amused by that quote, It might just be denial, or inight after a few days, but part of me really wants to say they won't leave the game like this, too much of their flagship baby to do so.   I'll give them time.

Honestly, (and I'm sure this is the same for everyone else) everything up to the white light and the platform was absolutely amazing. London felt truly besieged by the reapers, everything was desperate, Shepard was nearly dead. Even if Bioware changed it to just one ending of Shepard destroys the reapers, but the relays remain active, it would still be a much better ending. I would also like something similar to Fallout New Vegas endings where we get to know what happened to each of the different civilizations and characters we have come to love.

Exactly. Even if they keep the endings, I just want more of an explanation of what happened. It shouldn't be left up to the gamer's mind. If we were given more of a choice into how it ended, sure. But being giving three choices that end in similar results - explain what effects those choices had on the galaxy except different colors. Even in the merge ending, all we get to see if EDI and Joker happy. What effects did our choice have on everyone else that we had been fighting for. I know Mass Effect was Shepard's story, but we also care about the people around him/her.

Honestly from a story perspective, keeping the relays doesn't make sense.  The climax of the series is finding out that everything that galactic civilization is based on was all put in place by the jello kid on the citadel.  If the end is really about finding true freedom for the galaxy and unhitching it from the control of the jello-kid/reapers then that would mean getting rid of everything the reapers created, which would include the relays.

Which means dooming billions upon billions of people to death all over the galaxy due to lack of resources they used to get via the mass relays? Sounds like "mission accomplished" to me. lol
