Aight everyone. Don't know what the weather's like where you are, but here it's a beautiful spring day. I'm taking a walk. I'm done being depressed over this. Two days of feeling low due to this is far more than any game developer has the right to get out of me. What happens, happens, and what doesn't happen doesn't get to rule my life for another hour.

I finished the game on Friday afternoon and have been past the depression phase since the weekend at this point it feels good to be on here and trying to get something done. I have never actually stood up and said something about a situation that I felt strongly about. So I'm glad that you have found peace amidst everything but for me until something happens I am staying right here. HOLD THE LINE!!

Drew is an accomplished writer, not only of his own works, but numerous novels for the Star Wars expanded universe, including a very good "Darth Bane" novel series. 
To have such a big SW-related name aboard TOR is quite a reasonable decision.

He's recently left BW to pursue his own writing, as far as I know.

Many, many times Hollywood will do per-screens for yet to be released original movies. They pull in folks from all walks of life and take their reaction. Why do you think when some movies hit DVD/Blu Ray release, they advertise "Alternate Endings." Those Alternate Endings are the ones that got cut because the people hated them.

The are very few forms of pure art in the world. If you are an artist and you create something for yourself or others that was not intended to be SOLD to an audience, then yeah, that's art. Books, movies, TV shows, plays, games... not so much. Don't get me wrong here, I have no intention of belittling his work, but even Shakespeare was a commercial hack; he had to pander to his audience (most notably the Queen) or they would not have paid him. Once you charge an audience money for you creation, it becomes a commercial product. It is no longer truly "art."

And that's not even getting into the false advertising issues...

So don't let the naysayers make you lose heart. Hold the line!

I completely agree with this assessment of art. There are artists who create pieces because they feel that they need to express an idea or view of the world to the rest of the people. Artists who create art to be sold explicitly to customers are no different than a sneaker company calling their products a work of art.

I like how they keep bringing up the 'From Ashes Controversy'. If they're that worried that people are still upset about that, imagine how truly worried they must be over the community flack on the ending!

True. I also found it amirable that they were willing to tackle homosexuality. Honestly, I'm surprised they were able to take a stand on that. 

Someone get Jon Stewart or Mr. Colbert on this. The ending... I mean.   

I did had one issue with their same sex relationships.  As someone who always picks the nice guy option,  I was thrown off that my Shepard was talking to the guy in such a soft tone.

Then I found out Cortez was gay, and afterthat I wondered if my responses made me bi, my in game Shepard I mean.  Or did I do a real life Freudian slip

Down times are our test of character - and neither BW nor EA will find me wanting! This isn't my first rodeo - nor is this my first dog and pony show - I'm in this for the long haul! However long it takes to get the ending we ask for is worth the challenge ahead of us all!

Homosexuality is nothing new, it was in both Dragon Age games - in DA2 everyone was Bi-sexual....

The dev team completely lied about the endings being different and being able to branch out and what not as it will be the final of the series, leading to a game that had no closure and lets face it we all paid the money for the game that is missing an ending ( assuming indoctrination theory) or we paid for a game that's ending was created to test social behaviors in 'how long does it take to make people snap'. The answer 5 minutes of worthless cut-scenes that destroy the trilogy altogether.

Another paying customer gone EA/Bio-ware, i raid in SW:TOR with a set group but unsubed and told them to do similar for those also upset with your bull**** in this year alone. Congrats whole guild of paying consumers gone because you got lazy and pulled a bait and switch on a community that only tried to support the Mass Effect franchise.

BW had a poll up with one of the oll remarks - ending ruined at all: That particular result went through the roof - then BW immediately took it down.

Actually if you looked at the url it wasn't going to the official Mass Effect facebook page. IE; someone set up a fake with a poll, and people took the bait.

EDIT: Or I could just be mistaken and someone messed up when they set up the poll

Really messed up; I've been having issues with that recruitment game they put in for ME3...it keeps coming up no matter what, so I have to click back and go somewhere else on the ME page to get away from it...and it did that for that link.
