Look at this: its descibed that shepard can survive the destroy the reapers option and earth to be okay. that means the relays are not destoryed cause that will catch earth in a supernova or whatsitcalled.. isnt that a good ending ?. and normany has a distress beacon and if the relays are ok its probably just to search and rescue
its sets up for it to be possible both the leaked script and this

Wait...thats right. If we have an ending with shepard on earth...that means the relays aren't destoyed thus there is hope for future spacefaring civilization.

Yeah----could anyone just PM me the 'hard evidence' concerning the stranding?

I've been searching online, to no results whatsoever. I even spent some time at the 'SA' forums, where all they seem to be doing, is to make fun of this forum.

You guys need to relax. I read the script when it was leaked ages ago. There is a tremendous amount of good things that happen in the game too. (Plus a couple crap things but I never like mordin or legion anyway)

The relays are destroyed in all endings.

But none of that matters if everything goes ****** up in the ending (which it always does)

I'm pretty sure the Relays can be "deactivated" in a way you can't reactivate them. And afaik the Citadel seems to be the controlling mechanism - and it got destroyed in ALL three endings.

No Citadel, no working Mass Relays. You can't even reactivate them again.

Well, I'll wait and see for myself when I actually play the game. But if all this is true, then good for BioWare. Truly. I get so tired of writers resorting to a deus ex machina because they have written themselves into a hole in which no possible or realistic resolution could be presented to fix the problem.

BioWare has spent the last five years or so telling us that the Reapers are unstoppable. That they have powers that no sentient or organic species could possibly comprehend. They are also completely mysterious, thought to be a myth. And this cycle has been repeating itself for millions of years. Eliminating civilizations that were far more advanced and powerful than ours is.

To suddenly be able to defeat them and have everything be wine and roses at the end would absolutely be the proverbial "god out of the machine" moment. Pun intended.

Best post in whole topic. Most reasonable too..

They are destroyed. During the big Earth battle, the Citadel appears right next to Earth. Shepard goes to the Citadel alone and you pick your choice from there.

It's an erroneous assumption. The relay only exploded that way in Arrival because it was detonated by an asteroid. A detonation by someone who knows what they're doing wouldn't necessarilly have the same catastrophic consequence.

Wow so after 3 games you get these ****ty endings. Not buying any future DLC unless it changes the ending.

Posted in this thread already as a joke, but this honestly sounds like a better ending than the rumored ones.

I love the people who are using "it's war, you're not getting kittens and rainbows" as an excuse for these endings.

Even if the relays are destroyed, they can be rebuild. Might take hundreds to thousands of years but galactic civilization will rise again. And maybe this time theyre wiser too.

Nowhere does Tank say they were stranded, and nowhere in his ending pastebin does it mention the Normandy being stranded.

I asked where people heard this, and they said Xiosite, then I got linked to his Space Edition thread, and nowhere from the moment he starts talking about the ending does he mention this.

Not really, I gave up that hope.

The Normandy warps away (there's even a CGI movie for that) and strands on a random world.

I doubt this "random world" will be nearby Sol system or even Earth.
If that world - IS - Earth, I'll be happy since there's a chance Shepard might see his/her "family" again.

the funny thing is...no one is asking for kittens and rainbows, alla people are asking for is a proper end for shepard and the crew

Tank does say the Normandy has to get through the relay before it blows up and the Normandy gets stranded on a planet that "looks like Jurrasic Park".

On a side note, there is another person on there who has played it as well.  I hadn't notice that before.  He had extremely limited time, no saves ported over and no MP and he said the ending he got has like a swift kick in the nuts.  That's the only one he saw though and he thinks it's the worst possible one you can get.
