What about the 2 squad members that are whit you in the final run in London.I picked ash and liara, how the hell did Ash end up in the normandy? Or Liara depending on my final"choice". It's not just a bad ending, it doesn't make any sense.

That's the one plothole that gives me no rest. Wouldn't it be completely out of character for them to abandon Shepard at this moment? At first I though they were dead, so I dragged my shattered Shepard through the Citadel, thinking, "For you, Ash, and for our friends!" And then she steps out of the crashed Normandy, not even a hint of sad on her face. And I'm pretty sure it's the same thing with Liara and Kaidan. If Shepard was unconscious for long enough for the entire ground team to get evacuated, fine. Maybe the Reapers killed the beam to the Citadel after Shepard and Anderson got on board. But again, there is no evidence to support it. No Ashley getting dragged flailing and screaming into the evac shuttle/cargo bay, no sadness at the very end. Nothing. As if the characters in-game were realizing how pointless the ending was... Image IPB

This... damn. This whole indoctrination theory just makes sense. Even if it is true, it is bull**** to sell an unfinished game.

Surely. There just seems to be way too many holes for it to be anything else.. how the hell Garrus & Tali got from the front lines with me at the beam, to the Normandy I... just ..... no. No.

Wow that was my squad as well. Can't say I was mortified that Tali and Garrus didn't get vaporized, but since they'll starve/succumb to sickness within a month it pretty much had the same outcome.

Yeah, even if we don't get anything from Bioware, the charity will have made it worth it. I'm so glad to have been a part of this.

You dont have to hope, but, dont lose hope either.  Hope is the main thing the reapers try to take from shepard, and its the first thing bioware has tried to take from us. Dont lose hope, and if you do, keep going anyway.

I'm not saying I still don't hope Bioware will recognize this, I'm just saying that it's been a great thing to stand behind.

I figured it out, the real ending of Mass Effect 3 is this entire movement against the Ending of the game.

The entire point of ME3 is gathering forces to fight the reapers to avoid the end of their species.

The entire point of this movement is gathering players to fight bioware to avoid the ending of this game

So, in my first ever post,

Everything you say is true and well-articulated.  Exactly why so many of us started this game and were blown away.  Just a few hours in, I was certain this was going to be a milestone in the industry, a new bar to reach for years to come, the most amazing thing I'd every played.  The distilled perfection of the mechanics, and style, and story we'd been following since ME1.

All of that and more are precisely why the ending was such a shock.  If they'd done a worse job with the game I wouldn't have cared as much.  They set their own standards too high for that ending sequence to be worthy of it.

yep, i tought this would be THE scifi story and best game of my generation! well mr. hudson mission accomplished... not!

please, just do another ending!

holding the line!

I cant even end that quest because I choose the Paragon side and the damned bug ****ed it up!

What quest? The comicbook-quest?
This is a glimpse of the comic which you can find in the CE-edition of ME3, right?

Funny thing I noticed: Even though many of the Detructoid bloggers admit they have not yet even finished the game, they are agreeing they love the ending, because... well, solely because WE don't! Seems to be the hip thing to do!

Way to go with that kind of audience, Dtoid! You really have to be proud of them!

The endings weren't bad. imo the ideology in them was very different from eachother. But there was no arching ending that led you either to a good place or to a bad place, which I suspect alot of people want. Because claiming the 3 endings are the same is wrong. They are astronomically different. They shape totally different futures; however they don't differ gameplay wise in any way, nor is there any definitiveness to shepards survival in any of them.

It is not the problem that the choices were the same in their fundamental morality. There was simply no consequence. What happens if you do this? Can reapers really be controlled? Will the new DNA be nothing but a victory for the reapers?

The ending made plotholes as it delivered no closure but three colors that had no emotional ties as you just walk somewhere and thats it. The morality is "astronomically differect" the consequences are not.

To Kotaku: We're not demanding it. At least most of us aren't. We are asking, would like it. I don't feel entitled to a new ending in any way, regardless of how much I donated.

I mused, about 100 pages ago, that I could understand the logic behind having the 'real' ending as a DLC - especially since anyone who gets the game needs online access to activate the game.

Are you sure about this? My brother bought the X-Box version of ME3 and he doesn't have X-Box Live or an internet connection on his console, so that means he won't be able to play the game in the first place (lucky him), or is online activation only mandatory for PC gamers?

This is the extract that I found on the mass effect wiki:
New True Ending All AlongEdit
A few hours ago an anonymous user who leaked the multiplayer DLC (just an hour earlier) has claimed that the ending fiasco was deliberate because of the game’s storyline being leaked. They changed it so they could have more time to prepare the real ending DLC.
It is called “The Truth”, and will be released in April or May… You will be able to continue your story if you picked any of the endings. Your decision during the sequence will have a big effect on the ending of The Truth. Also, The Truth adds two new sets of enemies, new classes, and multiplayer maps, including “Firebase Hive”, which is a small area of the last remaining Collector Ship included in the DLC, which, by the way, you should definitely bring Javik the Prothean along if you have them.

The following picture shows some of the leaked multiplayer classes and races. One race that isn’t shown is the Prothean Adept and Vanguard. This DLC also, enables the ability for owners of the preorder and From Ashes DLC to find their DLC weapons in reinforcement packs.

All of that content, and this might as well be labelled an expansion.

And it’s Free!

I don't think you are unable to play the game on Xbox if you don't go online. I think you are obviously unable to play MP or download any multi-player. I could be wrong. I just entered the code and continued on.

Hah. I never thought of that. Well maybe they got lucky and the planet they landed on was dextro based not levo based DNA. So yay.... the others die a slow horrible death instead...

Ugh. Can't win any way.

Same things here, I brought Tali and Garrus and:
Running down the hill, death laser, bodies, but not Garrus or Tali anywhere, ending, both of them are on the Normandy....How?

And does anyone know if your two squadmates dying can vary? Because I searched thuroughly but I only found dead human marines.

Agreed on almost all counts (I actually did spend a lot of time down in the shuttle bay, but that's another matter), this game had me in its grip until the end. Hell, when Mordin sacrificed himself I was singing along with him.

Yea, I have nothing against the new characters. Liked them both. Yelled at the screen when Cortez was killed. LOVED the early sparring match with Shepard and James.

It's the awesome thing about this game. We all have those moments and reasons to love it so much. And that makes me hate hating the ending :)

/doh moment:

I redid a near-perfect run of ME2 with my ME1 Shep recently, and imported *that* into ME3.  I forgot to make Mordin sing in ME2! He didn't sing in his final scene in my game, and that's probably why.  However, his final speech is excellent, so I'm glad I saw that too.  Maybe when the sting has worn off, I'll go "fix" my ME2 game and start ME3 over again.

Also - Cortez lived in mine.  Wonder what the difference was?  I spoke to him a lot, let him down gently (scene in Purgatory where he talks about eye candy - the wheel choice is very obvious, but then the actual response Shep gives is a polite "I'm going to make it obvious I'm not interested without being a jerk"), and I helped.  Ahah.  I helped him find closure over the death of his husband; he finally let go, and left Robert's picture at the memorial wall.  I suspect your Cortez didn't have that closure and didn't have that extra motivation to live and carry on?

It's just so sad and ironic isn't it..

I was thinking today, if BW actually comes around to fix the ending, i am totally prepared to go on praise-the-game spree right here on the forum.

Because imho except for that, this really is the best game (series!) of my generation.

I've been a gamer for 20+ years and no game EVER moved me like this ....

Ok here goes the :crying:
