I still can't believe why Bioware won't say something like "Guys. We hear you. We understand you think something is wrong. We're going to fix it. Give us time." Or even "Guys. We hear you, but this is how it is. We're not changing anything."
I just want some certainty, you know?
Because the global release date is this week afaik. That means until recently the game wasn't even released everywhere, and I suppose that BioWare want to give everyone the chance to finish the game before directly and officially addressing the issue. That is assuming there is going to be any reaction other than what we've already seen.
What's important is that we keep the threads alive and people aware until BioWare does make a statement. Don't let it be forgotten. Hold the line.
Okay, I get that. But a statement like the ones I suggested wouldn't spoil anything for anyone, and would do something to dampen the outrage. Right now, they're just letting this get worse and worse for them. It's a terrible PR move.
It's true. But if they acknowledged publicly that there is going to be DLC and that the ending is going to be changed, it's possible that many players would cancel their orders, return their copies, etc. until the actual ending was released. Many wouldn't go ahead and pay the price for a game the developer has admitted to being incomplete.
As for the bad press... Before I actually saw the ending I didn't believe it could be that bad to justify the reaction. Mostly because I was enjoying the game very much until the ending slapped me in the face and left me in a state of borderline depression for two days.
And this gives me hope at the same time. Because assuming there is nothing else to it, BioWare could just flat out say that this entire campaign is pointless and that the ending stands. But if there is still something incoming which we don't know about, they can't tell us before others have seen the current ending for themselves; it would pretty much discredit a yet unsold product.
