Yeah I wish some people would stop referring to "Disney endings" like that's what everyone who hates these endings wanted. All it would take is changing one detail, what happens to the Normandy (even just where it crashes), to make me feel better about it... but they seem to go into great lengths in order to kill any hope in any version of the endings. What's even the point of having Shepard survive, if not to give a glimmer of hope? S/he might as well die, little changes anyway.

And by 'hope' I'm referring to the fate of the characters I came to care about over five ****ing years, including Shep, not the galactic civilization of nameless faces. NGL I'm pretty pissed at Bioware, I never expected them to pull something like this especially for a trilogy which has always had the option for lighter endings. This isn't what I play games for.

I wish I could rant to my friend about this but she'd kill me if I spoiled her... she's going to be livid. Or more likely, she'll wonder what she did to get the worst ending, and then I'll have to explain to her that it was actually the best one. And then she'll be livid.

So BW has told us that it'd be hard to get the best possible endings, but they always let us do with this game something that was unprecedented: if we made the right decisions, we could get the outcome we want. Huge spoilers ahead, you've been warned:

Current information states that regardless of which ending you choose, regardless of whether or not Shep lives or dies, the Normandy crew gets stranded on some random world without tech, Shepard will never see them again, and the galaxy by and large is completely boned for the next 200k years or so without any kind of good spacefaring tech.

To which I just want to say...why? After so many years of giving us control, why jerk it away from us at the last second just to force us to get a "bittersweet" ending. Not that I mind there being one present, and I'd use one in a playthrough, but not ALL my playthroughs.

DA2 was the prequel to this.

Bioware has guzzled their own coolaide.

They utterly believe that the story they want to tell is more important than how you envision your character, what sort of ending you'd enjoy, or anything else.

You are not playing a game now, you are just engaged in directing an "interactive cinematic experience" with some "AWESOME" combat thrown in between drama scenes.

In a way, I'm glad that mandatory Origin installation is making it easy for me to avoid the tempation to keep giving Bioware chances to get back to DAO and ME1 again.

(And right after I post this, the "no abuse" notice pops up.  I guess they're going to start using that to remove all negative posts regarding ME3 now -- see also, bans issued for criticizing Origin.)

he also said that those 23 hours were about the same time it takes him to playthrough all of the content on ME2 with all DLC.

Funny, took me about the same.

Let's get used to it already:

There's no happy ending.
There's only destroyed relays.
There's no happy ending.
There's no amount of war assets or Galaxic Readiness that can change that.
There's no happy ending.
There's no little blue children or happy future together with the LI for Shepard.
There's no happy ending.
There's only eternal separation for Shepard and his friends.
There's no happy ending.
There's only a dead or lone Shepard struck on Earth.
There's no happy ending.
And Bioware/EA drinks our tears.

No extra money from me BW for add on content IF it doesn't affect the ending. Someone will buy all the content and will let us all know if that effects anything - no effect no money from me. THIS is where WE can show BW we're not happy with those guys at all! NOW answer this thread BW - its in YOUR own best interest, believe me!

All I wanted was ONE, single, hard-to-obtain ending that my Shepard with his LI.

But the endings we've apparantly been given? Hardly any real difference.

Oh, I'll still play ME3; but EA won't be getting my money for the CE. I cancelled that pre-order.

I'll be sure to buy my copy of ME3 either used or second-hand.

How disappointing.

Yeah.

My guess is that criticism of choices made regarding ME3, Origin, etc, will result in bans, using that as an excuse.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're putting up the big shield now. Can't accept that you created ****** poor endings.
