Personally I'm willing to wait for as long as it takes. Months, years, whatever.

I'm convinced they have something planned now... due to all these cryptic tweets. They would just ignore them if they wern't even considering them.

Do you remember DA2?

Do you remember the call for a patch so the game would work?

Do you recall BW telling us to wait, there would be a DA2 anouncement soon?

Do you recall that turned out to be...an armour and weapon DLC....

Until there is a definate statement AND it becomes available I'm assuming they are talking about something else entirely. At this point a MP DLC no one wants or asked for is my assumption.

Just to say I support the Indoctrination Theory, because it is the one that actually makes sense of the "endings" we have currently in the game.

UK Fleet the US fleet will attempt to assist unfortunately we have minimal reserves of requested nourishment, coffee and doughnuts should be arriving at 17:00. Hold the line! SSV Cleveland out.

Cheesesteaks enroute.  SSV Philadelphia out.  Hold the line!

I wouldn't have minded if it JUST HAD SOME CLOSURE. I thought the decisions themselves were alright it was just how did the Normandy suddenly end up in the middle of a relay jump? Why are they on this random planet looking no worse for wear?

And why are the people that were on the ground with you when Harbinger blasts you with the death-rays (at least I'm assuming it's Harbinger by the three yellow "eyes") suddenly on the Normandy? Looking happy/relieved about suddenly running away from the fight and Shepard who might not even really be dead and crash-landing on said random planet?

The more I stare at the plot holes, the bigger they get.

Mass Effect has no ending, yet.

I think that's just the twitter person trying to be playful. They've been saying they aren't revealing spoilers, so saying that they aren't revealing if ME3 has something obvious (like that it ends) is meant to be a joke.

That was just my "glas half full" take on a message without any substance, but way to go to crush any hope at sight :P

Well, I don't want to get hopes up without a good reason. I couldn't stand being crushed again.

You know they are flabbergasted. otherwise someone would have commented in the spoiler forum on the review thread by now otherwise. The lack of one single "keep 'em coming" reply is damning. Every BW game release in the past few years has been loaded with Dev and Mod talk within a week of release.
Either that or they no longer even pay attention to the forum.....

We do have pie however, to much pie if such a thing is possible, just to keep up morale!

Strongly disagree.  I've read some of the earliest examples of spec fic from the 20s on up.  Also, Larry Niven is "hard science fiction."  Space Magic is the exact opposite of Hard SciFi.  So he gets the term completely wrong... sorry, Tycho :(.  But, like I said before: his points about the "sacrosanct nature" are spot-on.

See, that's the thing - he disagrees with us, but understands where we're coming from. He isn't rude or biased. He even calls the "artistic integrity" people out, because it's a terrible argument.

So, while I disagree with him about the quality of the ending, I think this is a positive write-up for us. It's certainly civil and honest.

This. The man hasn't committed a sin by liking the game and that text is in support of our right to criticize constructively, there's no reason we should hold animosity towards him.

Well here's some positive news, and since I can't find the all enclusive media responce thread I figured it's best to post here.

Tycho from Penny Arcade has taken an official stance in today's news. While he (and Gabe) liked their endings he does understand how people could feel cheated and, perhapse more importantly, that the thought of 'because it's art no one can protest' is incorrect. He does go on to explain why he likes the ending, which basically boils down to he likes those kind of open ended  type endings, but, unlike his employee, he is rude to us nor will stand in our way.

Hold the line. :)

Hmm. Ok so after reading all of this twitter stuff it seems more and more reasonable to suspect that this is all just a trick (for whatever reason)

I'm very much hoping that they give us the true ending for free. I really do. And if they end up releasing it, I hope that they have an explanation as to why they kept it hidden.

I just don't want to have to wait another month... (impatient) D:

A part of me wonders if they plan to use the Achievement Tracking within the game to decide what the 'canon' ending would be. Even if they do that, and allow us to continue based off the cannon ending to a true ending, it wouldn't really please a lot of people (As then it wouldn't be their shepard), so I sort of shot my own idea out of the sky in my head.

Still, I wonder if maybe they want to do something with Achievements. =/

Oi now, no animosity towards him from me!  It's just one of the points he makes is that this is a "Hard SciFi" ending and it absolutely isn't.  It's the opposite.  Hard SciFi stays within the constraints of known science and physics - Larry Niven being an excellent example - and explores scientific themes and their implications, and logical extrapolation.  And Space Magic (with Godbois!) is the complete opposite of Hard SF.  S'all I'm sayin'.

According to this article from The Vine (which is actually good), it seems Bioware is trolling us. Just take a look as some questions asked:

User 1: "I still want to believe you guys are sneaky trolls and have something going on you don't tell us yet. Can I get a cryptic reply?"
@masseffect: "The sun, it shines. www.youtube.com/watch"

User 2: "You are either a massive sadist or a beacon of hope."
@masseffect: "Can't it be both?"

User 3: "I kinda feel lost after that ending...not what I expected and left me feeling everything done was for nothing."
@masseffect: "We know it's a lot to take in! But hang in there. Your decisions matter."

User 4: "Are you holding something back, that could quell the large amount of frustration from the community, a tiny hint would be enough."
@masseffect: "Mike Gamble already said on his twitter, if the fans knew what was in store, the reaction would be different."

User 5: "I loved 98% of ME3..but something has to be up w/ ending..too much talent at BW for that business. Keep my saves?"
@masseffect: "We're keeping our saves, that's for sure."

User 6: "Fans are people too. Playing with their minds isn't that nice as it may look like to people from Bioware."
@masseffect: "We're not playing with anyone's minds, we are answering what questions we can and recording what feedback we receive."

User 7: "Its not that the ending was taken in the wrong direction its that it makes NO SENSE. Ashley was on the Normandy? she [was] with me."
@masseffect: "Probably a good thing to be cautious of."

User 8: "Do y'all have any ETA when more news will be released? Dying for news on a new ending/DLC."
@masseffect: "No ETA yet, but you will be updated via Facebook and Twitter when the news is available :)."

And if that wasn't enough..

User 1 -Well, i think i'll stop naggin you and trying to get you to talk about the indoctrination theory. :( Good game though!
Merizan - I want people to make up their own minds right now, then when more people have played we'll talk :)

User 2 - then I want to SEE that he was lying. I want to get up and finish the fight with Commander Shepard. Then retire.
Merizan - augh. want. to. discuss! Staying spoiler free for now :P

User 3 - But should've confronted the kid instead. Shep went meekly into the night.
Merizan - are you sure he went meekly into the night?

One thing is to pull a PR stunt, another it to threat each and every one of us as if we were morons....

I will hold the line, but honestly, I am sick of Bioware/EA right now...

It is seeming more and more likely every hour that this is just one hell of a PR stunt and they are keeping an ending DLC hidden somewhere. Hopefully Bioware can recover from it because I think it has gone further than they planned.
Holding the line.

Uhm, I think they're keeping a DLC, but I dont think that will change the ending. Not at all. Maybe they'll show us what's happening next, but I dont think there'll be some revelation about the ending. I dont think that's fair, still: did they really want to reward us -the first ones buyin and playin the game- gettin us a nonsensical ending? If I only knew they wanted to do such a joke, I should have bought it later - maybe even with a discount!
Still, I'm replayin this tryin to keep my Shepard alive. I dont like at all the "destroy" ending (I prefer the synthesis one) but if that's the only way for my Shepard to live, I'll do this.
And remember the Stargazer last words about Shepard: "Just one more story..."
It's getting harder, but I'm holding the line!

Well I feel that I should add to this madness... very disapointed, I really hope we see an alternate ending come out and very soon.

Reviewing Biowares responses to the public only makes me more angry, comes across like they knew about this but had alternate plans. I understand not wanting to admit your mistakes, but riding the other end of the spectrum is just as bad.

Stop talking about it and fix it, I don't see what the issue is anyway, is it honestly going to kill you guys to admit the game needs a better ending?

A lot of people prefer happy endings to a complete surprise, even when the happy endings are completely predictable, people still prefer it. Note that no-one is actually asking that the entire ending be re-written, they simply want to be accommodated.

I am only getting annoyed the more I write about this topic so I am going to stop...

I want to believe it's a giant PR stunt and real ending is coming. But my gut feeling is they've got some pre-ending DLC that they think is going to make us happy, and are working under the false assumption that everything is going to blow over without harm to their brand.
