So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Yes there is. I wanted to play Mass Effect, not Deus Ex. If I wanted o play DE, I would have just loaded the game and played it, instead of buying a new game.
Besides, in Deus Ex we know how the Deus Ex Machina element is always present. In Mass Effect, choice was the main element till the last 5 minutes (that and some of the plot holes, but the are minor in comparison)

I think if they don't fix it, the whole Mass Effect franchise will suffer from it. And eventually, future additions to the series!

AJ: I'm Adam Jensen and I thought this was my fate.
God Child: Incorrect. Your fate had an epilogue.
Indeed. The choices at the end of DE: HR were almost as bad as ME3's in that it was just buttons to press and nothing to do with your choices throughout the game, but at least they were explained well and made sense in light of the story.

1-# of People not complaining =/= people who like & are satisfied.
I haven't gone and liked that facebook page, but I don't like and am unsatisfied with the endings.
And I'm someone who is even pedantic enough to argue this crap online.
There's always more people who agree with activists than there are activists.
I'm not saying dislikers of the endings are or will be the majority, but you can't presume "Everyone who bought the game who didn't click like on this page loves the ending"
2-Allow me to rebut your "The reapers land on earth" thing with ME2.
ME2 starts with SHEPARD DYING.
The entire theme of the game is that it's a SUICIDE MISSION.
You start the end of the game by going to where it says LAUNCH SUICIDE MISSION.
And you know what happens at the end of that game if you worked hard and made the right choices? EVERYONE LIVES.
ME1 & ME2 told the player "Yeah, everyone says it can't be done, everyone says you'll lose and you'll die. But if you do it just right, you can get a really happy awesome ending."
How dare people buying the third game in a series expect it follow the logic the first 2 games in the series taught them to expect.

Is it strange to hope it in fact is a PR stunt out of a want to keep faith in their otherwise stellar ability to create, even if I can never trust them out of fear of getting crushed again?

It's quite possible. Did you read about the theory that everything beyond getting knocked out by the reaper laser in the ending was just a dream/hallucination as the reapers were trying to indoctrinate Shepard? There's several things that points to this, and choosing the "destroy" ending where you get to see Shepard live is the "real" one where he breaks loose from their attempt of mind control and awakes next to the Citadel beam.

True, not to mention one of the main advantages EA got from Bioware was loyal fans and some trust. If nothing happens, I will probably never return to Bioware and in turn EA.satrack wrote...

Well I feel that I should add to this madness... very disapointed, I really hope we see an alternate ending come out and very soon.
Reviewing Biowares responses to the public only makes me more angry, comes across like they knew about this but had alternate plans. I understand not wanting to admit your mistakes, but riding the other end of the spectrum is just as bad.
Stop talking about it and fix it, I don't see what the issue is anyway, is it honestly going to kill you guys to admit the game needs a better ending?
A lot of people prefer happy endings to a complete surprise, even when the happy endings are completely predictable, people still prefer it. Note that no-one is actually asking that the entire ending be re-written, they simply want to be accommodated.
I am only getting annoyed the more I write about this topic so I am going to stop...
I totally agree with you my friend. Each passing moment only makes me angrier about the fact that Bioware doesn't give a damn about us, loyal fans, and first ones purchasing their products.

Indeed. It seems they will just throw us a bone (new pre-ending DLC) hoping to keep us from biting them back.. If it is up to me, I will not only bite back, but I will chew as well..
Let's Hold the Line People.
And don't let fancy DLCs with bright colors blind you to the truth...

This. Indoctrination theory is the one thing that keeps hope alive for me, my girlfriend and our ME-loving friends.

Yes because I wasn't playing Deus Ex revo. That ending fits that game because thats the kind of game it is. But you don't tell the story of hercules and end with well this:

the poll talk for itself, if only 2% is happy with the current ending that means only 2% of the player will buy any dlc not related to the end.satrack wrote...

i know thats not an exact science but with that much samples i'm sure the sales will be poor.
