well...

so I have just finished playing ME3 - did all side-missions etc. and I still got shown that i am only 50% ready?....strange and my "true military strength" remained under 4000 (about 3600) - the other indicator (readiness i think it is called...don't want to load a savegame to look that up now...still trying to get over the ending...feeling numb and all that...i can't even muster anger ATM, just frustration and resignation/hopelessnes) was just below 6000 - and yeah, it was an imported savegame of my last and "perfect" playthrough of ME1 and ME2 (did everything like i should...well in hindsight, I should have blown the collector base to hell, but with the info at that time, keeping it was IMHO the best option, as I "liked" TIM in ME2...well i respected his motives - like is wrong, but I thought him a necessary evil, not just for Sheppard, but for Humanity, as the Salarians have the STG, the Asari have their commando units and the Turians have the strongest military, so humanity needed something to counter that IMHO...so yeah, I threw him a bone with the base...who knew he would turn crazy (bad writing as it is IMHO)...but yeah, i got everything else right and in ME3 even got geth and quarians to do the peace thing, so i should have been 100% ready IMHO and had over 4000 assets....)...i had plenty of credits/resources (i admit, i cheated those, as scanning goes on my wits, same for not having money in a singleplayer game...in an MMO i can understand that, as you should have to "work" for getting your stuff....strange....but ok....

so that poses the question: can you get the whole galaxy to be at 100% (or will that be stuck at 50% even with that?) without any multiplayer? (i do not like multiplayer!)

what bothers me though, is that i thought i would feel something when reaching the end - but the thing is, i don't...i felt something when anderson died, but i did not feel anything when i had to chose the end - you can only choose several different kinds of "bad"...some are worse then others of course:

IMHO destroy is utter bull - because you lose the relays (stranding the sword and shield fleets (and therefore 90% or so of the galaxy's military forces - thus leaving every species virtually defenseless and potentially killing thousands of people (a ravaged earth can't sustain that many IMHO - and even if it could, then at least quarians and turians are doomed because we sure as hell did not store a lot of food for them!)

control is too much of a gamble (you can not assure that the reapers wont free themselves in the future and restart killing everybody - and with sheppard as their main-computer, they would be more driven then before and a lot more intelligent, too) even more so, as you loose your only real advantage you had in ME3 against the reapers, a working mass-relay-network - without those, they could just pick you off like they did the protheans and all the others before them!

and lastly (which i chose, even if I don't like it much either):

merge...that is like indoctrination (who knows what the nanites (those particles making anyone part machine) do to you and if you are yourself afterwards...)

so, i support having other endings even more strongly because that kills it for me...

greetings LAX
ps: one thing though: the green glowing eyes and nanite-tatoos in the merge ending look kind a cool...:) (on EDI especially...what i find strange is that Joker is not "fixed" by the nanites...)

Keep holding the line people! Never quit!

Continue helping Child's Play and being polite with Bioware

I know we all are upset about the ending, but flame wars will only damage our campaign

I want to believe it's a giant PR stunt and real ending is coming. But my gut feeling is they've got some pre-ending DLC that they think is going to make us happy, and are working under the false assumption that everything is going to blow over without harm to their brand.

I think if they don't fix it, the whole Mass Effect franchise will suffer from it. And eventually, future additions to the series!

Agreed.  Casey Hudson said that he wanted to do more in the Mass Effect universe and with the endings given to us it's hard to see how that's even possible.

Well, they can always do prequel, like KotOR and SWtOR.

I just wanted to add my voice to those extremely disappointed with the gainax ending you provided. Gamefront explains why, I'll just add I'm seriously considering if I should ever get myself invested in any of your titles again if you're fine with an overinflated ego of one writer getting in the way of coherent storytelling.

Glad i'm not the only one seeing the NGE'ishness of this ending. XD

Sadly, it is the NGE all over again.

Seems I will no longer be just a Star Wars Galaxies exile, but a Mass Effect one too...

Still holding the line...

It's already Thursday in Japano-Land.

And they'll need 48 hours to play with work time...

Honestly, would you buy a prequel knowing how the galaxy is going to end? I know I wouldn't...

I take this as a good sign that they are working on single player stuff. Plus I don't think the game is even released worldwide yet so they have to keep us in the dark in terms of plans so not to ruin it for those in Asia etc. :D

It hit Asia today.

Maybe a game surrounding the Contact War?  It could just be me, but in Casey's interviews I got the impression that he wanted to do post-Shepard stuff.

More Clint Mansell -

Lux Aeterna (from the movie Requiem for a Dream).  If you listen to the whole thing, i believe the lyrics are "eeyyyyaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIMAKEITSTOPAAAGGGHHHHHHH!"   ;)

Welcome to Lunar Industries (from the movie Moon)

Aside from Clint's contributions, the entire sound plot of Mass Effect by the Bioware sound team is also excellent.  Glad I got the DD edition for the downloadable soundtrack alone (and they're in high-quality WAV files, too!)

Hell, took me 3-4 days to put in 32 hours and get through, all I have is college classes, not even a part time job to accompany it.

I hope not..

I hope the will bring in a better ending.

Then they can either make a ME4, because there would be sooooo much stuff.

Just think how hard it will be to bring order back after this invasion... make diplomaty.. and perhaps some races want more then before (even with war), or what happens to all the reaper tec? Will there be something left of cerberus? etc. etc.

Or they can try out the same storyline but from a complet different view... could be interesting to play as a cerberus agent for example, who must decide to follow the illusive man or perhaps starts to think things over..

Arg.. there is so much possible. But not without making a better ending (or really doing just a cheap way and make a prequel).

You raise the readiness level by playing multiplayer. The overall readiness is a direct multiplicator for your war assets. So if you collect 4.000 war asset points but havent done any multiplayer (default 50%) you only get 2.000 effective.
