German fleets seems to be a one-man-show on it's front.
Need backup! Need backup!!!

accepting austrian backup too? ;)

Not since 1945 ;)
Edit: Ah, well... okay.

/spitsdrink
Priceless, Herr Gekko

SSV Cleveland will do what we can but most of our firepower took its talent to SSV South Beach, I would suggest looking there for aid.

Backup on the way, SSV Saxony fresh out of the drydock.

I actually kinda liked Mordin's death. I thought he went out as a true hero. Thane too, he didn't have long left and he chose to go out with a bang. Wasn't that big a fan of Miranda's, though. I thought she had a whole lot more to contribute to the war effort.

Mordin's sacrifice was done very well imo, I admit I cried

Want to talk about Grunt's cutscene? Man, I cried like a baby. "GRUNT, NOOOOO!"
I was going to reload like hell killing the rachni queen hoping that would save him :P

Hi all - just got home from work. Probably already posted, but just saw this:

Forbes - Why Fans Are So Angry About the Mass Effect 3 Ending

I had to pretty much run screaming, hair on fire, from the Kotaku comments area this morning. Man, sharks in the water over there.

I'll try to check the last few pages & get caught up. Not so easy to do on this thread!

I'm glad to see that Forbes is still reporting about this.

I just hope they listen to us about an alternate ending DLC pack ....
I was very wound up at the end when the Normandy crew were stranded on some random planet left to die. It didnt seem right... or complete in my heart and that really upset me. I got the best ending possible and i was still very angry by what i experienced. It feels like Casey and the rest of bioware just doomed us all by sticking there middle fingers up at the world of mass effect , telling us to get on with it when this game is a big part of our lives. This game taught me to be a better person an im deeply upset that i did not find any closure.

Just gunna read some fan fic endings and get drunk like ash and tali to sooth the pain from now on... good going bioware i hope your all damn happy !

Another tidbit for thought. If I double posted sorry.

Here's what Amazon is selling ME3 for.  Besides the cost, note the reviews.

Standard is 60, DD is 80.  I don't see a change there BUT, the lowest CE is now $45... hmm.

Mass Effect 2, 4.5 stars.  ME3, 2 stars.  Ouch.

I see what you did  there  LOL

Ravens Corps  have been one the best defense in  past decade... we'll hold the line  alone if we have too.

Oh wait... you from Cleveland.. =]

Thanks not sure if anyone would get that on here. And I'm a fairly recent transfer from heavy cruiser Illinois. I put that up cuz I found the whole ordeal hilarious.

both were brilliant executed, especially the fight with leng, afterwards i had to pause the game and jump around just to loose all the assambled energy, a brilliant game... till the last 10 minutes or so...

I loved when Thane fought Kai Leng, just slipped in, and no one had any idea he was there.  Both went out beautifully.  Both kind of got me emotional.Image IPB

Listening to the Mass Effect Theme now. Jack Wall did such a brilliant job with the ME1 and ME2 soundtracks. I didn't think ME3's music was bad but I much prefer Wall to Clint Mansell.

Read that someone said that the german front is a one-man line in this...well,yeah.
Got to say that I'm a bit disappointed in the mediocre outcry from my fellow gamers on the whole ME3 Endings...many are just like "It is what it is, can't be helped."

God how I "hate" that attitude! <_<

Love to see the reaction from them when this whole campaign really changes something. It will be like 45:
*lights go on* "I was in the resistance!"

Mordin's death was done 'right'.  Sure, there were tears, but the scene after, when you see the good his sacrifice accomplished, and the music... it was a beautiful thing.  Thane, I kinda knew he wasn't going to make it through this game.  His death was fitting, and made revenge sweeter... although the players that romanced him got shafted a bit. As for Miranda, she stayed alive in mine, and I was playing using FemShep.  She even shows up when you're saying goodbyes, so she does end up contributing a bit more if you keep her alive.  So, I don't know what to think of her death yet, since it hasn't happened to me yet.  *edit*: right, how can I ever forget Legion?! ;.;  I didn't expect that to happen, I didn't know you could still achieve peace and have him sacrifice himself.

Butttttt... then the ending comes by and takes a giant crap on your face. ;)

Even though the ending depressed me and the lack of a brighter possible ending makes it impossible for me to replay the game as it is; i do feel better coming here and knowing that everyone else has been just as affected. Seeing eveyone pull together like this and the wonderful amount raised for the charity...its inspiring.

You can save Grunt.  He can survive the Corrupted Rachni caves.  Sorry if this makes you go back and reload xD
Edit: I didn't kill the queen.

I will admit I bawled uncontrollably when Mordin broke out in song.

Thane...did not die.  I still refuse to admit it.

I sobbed for both Mordin and Thane, but I could accept both their deaths because they felt like the natural course of events.

The ending, however, makes their sacrifice feel pointless. Or at least greatly reduced.

I hold very, very little faith that Bioware will fix this which is sad because I used to support Bioware so wholeheartedly. That doesn't mean that I'm not desperately hoping they will fix it. Afterall, I want to know what happened to everyone! Not just Joker and whoever ended up next to him. And I can't imagine the alien fleet is terribly impressed with being stranded in our solar system.

I'd really like to have a compiled list of every quote about the game's ending that Bioware ultimately lied about. Not to shove it in their face or anything, just to show to anyone interested that we are justified in feeling betrayed over this. If anyone has links that would be awesome.

Right you guys are. Beside the ending, this game had some of the best moments so far. The cutscenes were beautiful, there were tons of dialogue with your team mates (one of my favorite things in games, and this nailed it), good playability etc. It was really going to be almost perfect. But...

Of course it had some incongruencies, but they all have. It was just the endings that ruined it all. In a bad way. I can´t play them anymore. Doesn't make sense, knowing what happens.

Honestly, I'm not sure how much of the score Mansell did, most of the song credits go to Lennertz, Hulick, Velasco and Dikicyan on the downloaded album at least. I thought it was pretty good, not sure if any of them'll match my 500+ listens to Tali's theme from ME2 though. Image IPB

I will admit, as soon as I saw my Shepard wake up dazed and bloodied inside the Citadel, I had "Matrix 3" flashbacks, and immediately started preparing myself for that possibility.

While I would have preferred to see my battle-hardened hero retire and live out his life raising little blue babies with his (3 story long) love interest, I was resigned and almost accepting of the fact that maybe this would be the only way to really end things peacefully.

Yes there are some unanswered questions, and some bothersome plot holes, but what really and truly bothered me the most about the endings was the fact that all of the decisions I thought and debated and sweated over during the course of the three games really didn't mean a damn thing when it all boiled down to it in the end.

That broke my heart more than anything else.

Edited for schpelling!

Really? Wow, I had no idea she could survive. I guess it was related to when she asks you on the Citadel for money and she refuses to tell you what it is for. I played a Renegade FemShep and basically was like, "No, not if you won't tell me why". I'm on a second playthrough now as my Paragon ManShep, will go the other route and see if it makes a difference.
