Thats how I feel. While its a great sounding theory I can't believe anything until there is some kind of talk from Bioware.

Lack of response is growing more concerning.

Direct quotes from the marketing material on www.masseffect.com

"Along the way, your choices drive powerful outcomes, including the relationships with key characters, the fate of entire civilizations, and even radically different endings"

Not sure I need to discuss the above statement, the video sums it up best with all the endings side by side.

Second quote:

Experience the beginning, middle, and end of an emotional story unlike any other, where the decisions you make completely shape your experience and outcome."

Again I don't think this point needs further discussion. I want to believe "the truth" theory, but realistically selling an unfinished game has some massive logistical problems with delivery to your consumers.

Also the amount of people that will have returned their copy in all likelyhood will be considerably more than if the game had an ending where people saw a point to DLC or were satisfied with it.

They get zero cut of used game sales so not speaking out if they have prepared DLC content just seems counter productive.

The situation is simply baffling, maybe that's what they wanted but it really is a double edge sword.

Why do you people keep ignoring this?

Some twittering with the devs - are we trolled or they are up to something that will blow us all away?

User 1: "I still want to believe you guys are sneaky trolls and have something going on you don't tell us yet. Can I get a cryptic reply?"
@masseffect: "The sun, it shines. www.youtube.com/watch"

User 2: "You are either a massive sadist or a beacon of hope."
@masseffect: "Can't it be both?"

User 3: "I kinda feel lost after that ending...not what I expected and left me feeling everything done was for nothing."
@masseffect: "We know it's a lot to take in! But hang in there. Your decisions matter."

User 4: "Are you holding something back, that could quell the large amount of frustration from the community, a tiny hint would be enough."
@masseffect: "Mike Gamble already said on his twitter, if the fans knew what was in store, the reaction would be different."

User 5: "I loved 98% of ME3..but something has to be up w/ ending..too much talent at BW for that business. Keep my saves?"
@masseffect: "We're keeping our saves, that's for sure."

User 6: "Fans are people too. Playing with their minds isn't that nice as it may look like to people from Bioware."
@masseffect: "We're not playing with anyone's minds, we are answering what questions we can and recording what feedback we receive."

User 7: "Its not that the ending was taken in the wrong direction its that it makes NO SENSE. Ashley was on the Normandy? she [was] with me."
@masseffect: "Probably a good thing to be cautious of."

User 8: "Do y'all have any ETA when more news will be released? Dying for news on a new ending/DLC."
@masseffect: "No ETA yet, but you will be updated via Facebook and Twitter when the news is available :)."

And some more:

User 1 -Well, i think i'll stop naggin you and trying to get you to talk about the indoctrination theory. :( Good game though!
Merizan - I want people to make up their own minds right now, then when more people have played we'll talk :)

User 2 - then I want to SEE that he was lying. I want to get up and finish the fight with Commander Shepard. Then retire.
Merizan - augh. want. to. discuss! Staying spoiler free for now :P

User 3 - But should've confronted the kid instead. Shep went meekly into the night.
Merizan - are you sure he went meekly into the night?

Cryptic responses that can be taken in a number of different ways != solid information.

Also it doesn't mean any content is forthcoming, it could just be an explanation. I hope it isn't but you're treating it as if it is fact when they haven't confirmed or denied anything.

I honestly would love if they just ran with the indoctrination theory, who cares if they planned it or not.

The ending isn't right... it doesn't have that "MASS EFFECT" feel at all.. hopefully it isn't the end.

Didn't see this yet, but hard to keep up when you fall a few pages behind lol. Rock paper Shotgun's take on the ending:

http://www.rockpaper...end-of-an-epic/

From a commenter: "There are rumors of serious divisions within the BioWare writer’s room, centered around the fact that the endgame was written by Mac Walters alone, without much input from those who handled the (superb!) rest of
the narrative."

A rumor, but it makes perfect sense. Walters gave us the non-decision at the end of the Arrival DLC, so it appears to be a favorite device of his to resolve RPG stories by removing decisions and "assuming control of this form."

Wow. If true...

Yeah. I'd like to compare whoever wrote Mordin's death (honestly, probably the best-written scene in the entire series) to whoever wrote the ending. I bet they're in no way the same people. They can't be.

I liked that scene, but my favourite could very well have been the Conrad Vernier scenes.  I actually felt proud of my choices in the first 2 games on my main playthrough with that scene.  Heck, I even told my mom about it at our weekly lunch together... and she doesn't even PLAY videogames.

That is interesting in that the non-decision at the end of the Arrival DLC, while an epic part of the story, only affected a few lines of dialogue in ME3.

I have heard a couple things about a dlc that is coming in april or may called "the truth". I was wondering if anyone hear had details about that and what everyone's thoughts were on it.

It is a rumour. There is no evidence to support it at this time.

Yea that's pretty much what I figured, thanx though. Not sure if anyone has seen this or will care but Jessica Merizan said something interesting again: twitter.com/#!/JessicaMerizan/status/179828285327409152

See now THAT screams to me that they've got something up their sleeves and that it's still going to make sense.. I really am starting to think they had to fumble the ending together after that leak now and are planning the ending to be released in a DLC (I think they may have been planning it for the last DLC they were going to release since it might have spoilers from the OTHER DLC they're going to release too.. but might have to adjust that now lol

I wouldn't get my hopes up over that, she just said it could be explained. Her explanation could just be "Joker swooped down and picked them up while you were unconcious".

The problem with that is if Joker came down there, why would he decide to leave an unconscious Shepard  there and pick up the other two? He would know that Shepard  is down there and would gather all of them up and fly away until Shepard came to.
Not to mention tell the others  via the comm that Shepard is down and they needed to keep fighting until he came around.
Point is Joker wouldn't pick up the other two and leave Shepard to wake up on his own.

The ending just isn't a Heroic Shepard moment...the Shepard we know would have told that space child god thing and his space magic to screw off. Then proceed to destroy only the Reapers and not all synthetics.

It makes perfect sense that the ending wasn't worked on by the whole team since the whole "Synthetics will always try to destroy organics" bull**** comes right out of left field, flying in the face of possible events in the game itself.

So, tell me, guys... aren't the Bioware folks usually around in the forums? Do they usually comment here following a major release? Because, boy, they sure aren't here right now...

Yeah, non-disclosure agreements which can cause you to ruin your career have that effect... more evidence they might have something up their sleeves ;P

Thiiis~
This topic grows so fast though, I'm scared I'll miss it if one of the staff comments!

You might but I can guarantee that someone will catch it. If anything along those lines happens it will stick around the boards for quite a while.

Checking in. Any real progress made yet?

I saw some of the Tweets, and am cautiously willing to give Bioware the benefit of the doubt. I just hope they realize the longer they wait the worse this will get, and the less forgiving.

All this "spoiler free" talk generates hope, but at the same time could be a time-buying tactic. I just want some way for a real ending with a final boss fight and Shepard reuniting with LI and crew.

Hasn't Shepard at least earned the possibility of such an ending?
