The ending isn't right... it doesn't have that "MASS EFFECT" feel at all.. hopefully it isn't the end.

I agree. Playing ME has always been uplifting and inspiring and the endings usually have me feeling good. ME3s endings were depressing. Even the music was depressing. There was no victory there and i didnt walk away thinking 'hell yeah, that was all totally worth it". I really didn't expect this kind of let down from Bioware, not when the rest of the game was so damn perfect.

Would it have killed them to thrown just one brighter ending in there?

I have to say, the reaction on here to the endings has been one of the bright spots of the otherwise darkness that is the Mass effect fail. You guys have had me nodding along, laughing, T_T'ing and very occasionally yelling at the screen in anger. In fact, it's like playing Mass Effect all over again...

Here's to hoping that Bioware comes out of this with a free DLC that ties everything up neatly, gives us that Mass Effect feeling, and was planned all along and ends up being better trolls than Valve.

I have heard a couple things about a dlc that is coming in april or may called "the truth". I was wondering if anyone hear had details about that and what everyone's thoughts were on it.

It is a rumour. There is no evidence to support it at this time.

Yea that's pretty much what I figured, thanx though. Not sure if anyone has seen this or will care but Jessica Merizan said something interesting again: twitter.com/#!/JessicaMerizan/status/179828285327409152

See now THAT screams to me that they've got something up their sleeves and that it's still going to make sense.. I really am starting to think they had to fumble the ending together after that leak now and are planning the ending to be released in a DLC (I think they may have been planning it for the last DLC they were going to release since it might have spoilers from the OTHER DLC they're going to release too.. but might have to adjust that now lol

I wouldn't get my hopes up over that, she just said it could be explained. Her explanation could just be "Joker swooped down and picked them up while you were unconcious".

The problem with that is if Joker came down there.,why would he decide to leave and unconscious Shepard  there and pock up the other two. He would know that Shepard  is down there and would gather all if them up and fly away until Shepard came to.
Not to mention tell the others that Shepard is down and they needed to keep fighting until he came around.
Point is Joker wouldn't pick up the other two and leave Shepard to wake up on his own.

Because Joker is the real villain, space magic!

Checking in. Any real progress made yet?

I saw some of the Tweets, and am cautiously willing to give Bioware the benefit of the doubt. I just hope they realize the longer they wait the worse this will get, and the less forgiving.

All this "spoiler free" talk generates hope, but at the same time could be a time-buying tactic. I just want some way for a real ending with a final boss fight and Shepard reuniting with LI and crew.

Hasn't Shepard at least earned the possibility of such an ending?

Absolutely, and so have we after passionately sticking with this series. I'm more inclined to go with the 'stall them, and this will all blow over. They'll get over it' theory.

Didn't see this yet, but hard to keep up when you fall a few pages behind lol. Rock paper Shotgun's take on the ending:

http://www.rockpaper...end-of-an-epic/

From a commenter: "There are rumors of serious divisions within the BioWare writer’s room, centered around the fact that the endgame was written by Mac Walters alone, without much input from those who handled the (superb!) rest of
the narrative."

A rumor, but it makes perfect sense. Walters gave us the non-decision at the end of the Arrival DLC, so it appears to be a favorite device of his to resolve RPG stories by removing decisions and "assuming control of this form."

Wow. If true...

Yeah. I'd like to compare whoever wrote Mordin's death (honestly, probably the best-written scene in the entire series) to whoever wrote the ending. I bet they're in no way the same people. They can't be.

I liked that scene, but my favourite could very well have been the Conrad Vernier scenes.  I actually felt proud of my choices in the first 2 games on my main playthrough with that scene.  Heck, I even told my mom about it at our weekly lunch together... and she doesn't even PLAY videogames.

When he said "Shepard, I'm sorry about accusing you of drawing a gun on me for no reason" in reference to that save file bug from ME2 I started laughing so hard.

Same haha.. That and the Red October "They won't detect us unless we start singing the Soviet National Anthem" cracked me up so hard.

If that bit about Mac Walters is true, I think I just found a new subject for my hatred other than Matt Ward.

If its true, I hope Bioware learned its lesson to never trust his writing ability again with a project of this scope. Stick him in a back room to file paperwork or something, with very little light and alot of rats for company

more and more as i read through here, i believe that the entire fiasco must lay with Mac Walters. Perhaps, if we're lucky they will remove him from the project, and turn the story back over to the other writers..

At this point, with all the negative publicity Mass Effect 3 is getting quite literally EVERYWHERE, I believe it's only a matter of time until something is done. Barely over a week since release, and stocks have dropped, game prices have dropped, and everything short of riots have occurred.

Any Bioware/EA statement saying we're just going to have to deal with it is the equivalent of the Council denying Reaper existence. They're going to get royally screwed in the long run.

It could just be an improper gut feeling, but I've had an ill feeling about Mac Walters' influence on the series since reading his twitter feed, which basically amounts to "Oh yeah, I am the greatest!"

It does seem the more likely...but then I move back to the anger/depression cycle.

At least for now I can listen to "I Was Lost Without You" from the soundtrack and feel depressed and at the same time happy about how the scenes with Kaidan played out. So fantastically well written.

Also thinking of Mordin's sacrifice, and how well written that was. It actually made me cry a bit when he said his last line.

The German rear-guard is still holding out, we're covering the rest of the fleet for as long as we can.

When the time comes disengage make a quick FTL jump back to base. SSV Cleveland is currently positioned on the left flank to distract until remaining US fleets reengage. Until then hold the line!

You all know
the mission and what is at stake

I have come
to trust each of you with my life

But I have
also heard murmurs of discontent and I share your concerns

We were
trained for great endings

We would be
legends

But the
records are sealed

Glory in battle
is not our way

When Bioware
gave us a terrible ending, we held the line

When Gabe
knocked us, we held the line

When big
gaming sites called us whiners, we held the line

Our
influence will bring us great endings!

In our stand
today

WE WILL HOLD
THE LINE!!!

Edit: oops, dunno why that broke up the lines.
