I lolz...then got depressed cause that's what we are all still getting as responses from Bioware...:(

Is it just me, or does the child in that scene use an human adult male model, that has been downsized? He looks really bulky to me, and it just looks... off.

Same haha.. That and the Red October "They won't detect us unless we start singing the Soviet National Anthem" cracked me up so hard.

That was pretty funny all the little puns made to the series and others her funny as hell.

Personally I loved the Starwars reference in Jacobs mission. "First shuttle away!" "Huzzah!"

Grissom Academy if you rescued Archer from Project Overlord: "Guns. Lots of guns." I almost missed it at first. It was a good, subtle reference.

Checking in. Any real progress made yet?

I saw some of the Tweets, and am cautiously willing to give Bioware the benefit of the doubt. I just hope they realize the longer they wait the worse this will get, and the less forgiving.

All this "spoiler free" talk generates hope, but at the same time could be a time-buying tactic. I just want some way for a real ending with a final boss fight and Shepard reuniting with LI and crew.

Hasn't Shepard at least earned the possibility of such an ending?

Absolutely, and so have we after passionately sticking with this series. I'm more inclined to go with the 'stall them, and this will all blow over. They'll get over it' theory.

It does seem the more likely...but then I move back to the anger/depression cycle.

At least for now I can listen to "I Was Lost Without You" from the soundtrack and feel depressed and at the same time happy about how the scenes with Kaidan played out. So fantastically well written.

Also thinking of Mordin's sacrifice, and how well written that was. It actually made me cry a bit when he said his last line.

I still cant undestand the "no spoiler" thing. Are they meaning that for the Japan release, or it's for some dlc to come and explain everything?
God, I'm still hoping for my Shepard to settle down with Kaidan at Vancouver.
I'm holding the line guys!

As was said: The longer they wait the more people will finish and more people who are
disappointed with the "ending" will join in the movement

Let's make sure to keep everything friendly and civil, folks. No bashing Bioware or EA employees. Remember: they're people, too.

All the "spoiler-free" talk just makes me angry. It insinuates that they had something up their sleeves to begin with, thus they knew they were giving us an incomplete product. Then on top of that, they used false advertising (promising our choices mattered) to get us to buy that incomplete product. That is just ****ing dirty business sense right there. And if their ace in the hole turns out to be DLC we have to pay for... well, that'll just be the nail in the coffin.

You know, all this has made me wonder about the nuclear option. If their interviews can be taken to be advertising, I wonder if it can be argued in a court of law if they are guilty of false advertising.

I'd steer clear of talking about suing anyone on their own forums lol.

In my opinion no chance.  They provided a story, you've never been able to sue anyone based off you buying a book and it turning out to be horible, even if the book said "This book will have unicorns shooting rainbow flavoured skittle space magic out of their eyes" and then had a beam that destroyed the universe... it's all subjective in this case, nothing flat out false, there's no definitive 'start' to the end of the game.. they could argue the entire game was the ending (Which is a stretch but being as it's the last game) and then you have a bunch of choices.

Still holding the line, slumped over the bar in purgatory, spewing barely swallowed Serrice Ice Brandy over my Collector pants and crying to anyone in earshot how I'll never see Miranda again because of a 4 year old boy who's face I want to melt.

Blaaaaargh.

With all the talk about the possibility of a DLC patch these past few days, I couldn't help but toss in ME3 again and start another playthrough, here is hoping it pans out! I did go over the ending sequence again, and yeah all of the various oddities really stood out this time. Indoctrination/Dream Theory seems more and more plausible.

Lol. I actually kinda liked that part.

You know if they wern't aluding to DLC's at the end of it.

That part would be quite cool if they fixed the endings and then that part comes up and says "a millenia later....." to show that Shepard is still remembered as a Legend practically forever. Ofcourse the endings need to be fixed first....

At this point, with all the negative publicity Mass Effect 3 is getting quite literally EVERYWHERE, I believe it's only a matter of time until something is done. Barely over a week since release, and stocks have dropped, game prices have dropped, and everything short of riots have occurred.

Any Bioware/EA statement saying we're just going to have to deal with it is the equivalent of the Council denying Reaper existence. They're going to get royally screwed in the long run.

Am I the only one who gets some satisfaction watching their stock prices get lower and lower?

It gave me a warm fuzzy feeling I have to say.  Not to mention it gives teeth to the warning that screwing over a beloved series is bad buisness.

I have to say that EA have had it coming for ages, but I would hate for Bioware to go under because to be honest, the ending was the only bad thing about this game, the rest of it was perfect. Plus look back at their record of games and you will see that they have all been great (except maybe DA2). It's just a shame that Bioware either ran out of time for the ending or wanted to keep out the ending spoilers. Hopefully they can heal their reputation slightly with a fantastic ending DLC.

Can't help but feel sad for Bioware, they've done a great job up until this ending. And even if they fix it, they've lost a lot as a result of this mistake. Mass Effect 3 was a beautiful game, ending aside. The whole series was wonderful...
I just hope that they can make it right again.

Hello all.

I've lurked on these forums for a few years now but never been brave enough to actually sign up and say anything, but having experienced the end of ME3 I felt I had to find some comfort by expressing myself to some like-minded individuals.  I apologise in advance if this is a bit long (and most of what I have to say has already been said by others)

I finished ME3 a couple of days ago and felt hollow and flat when I saw the ending.  To be honest I was quite relieved when I saw this thread and realised you all felt the same way I did.  The Game Front article by Ross Lincoln really sums up my main story issues from the ending and why it was such a let down (and much better than I could articulate).  Like all of you I really enjoyed 95% of the game but the ending was just such a poor way for the whole thing fto inish and made no sense.

From a personal point of view, I will admit I am one of those who is sad that there isn't an option for a 'happy ending'.  I'm not saying all the endings should be happy, or even easy to achieve, but after all that Shepard has been through doesn't he/she deserve at least a chance of happy ending.  I play the ME games for fun and enjoyment and as a way to escape from what ever in the real world is upsetting me.  Saving the Destiny in ME1 or when 'From the Wreckage' kicks in are great uplifting hero moments.  Why would I want to replay a game or buy DLC when there is no chance of a happy ending for the hero.  Asking me to buy DLC after the credits, when it became clear that none of my decisions made much difference also felt off to be honest. ME2 did it better, as you could run the scale from total victory, to victory (but everyone dies).  Didn't Shepard basically tell the Citadel child that without hope there is no point?  Well, without the hope of any victory, Shepard would have been better off getting the crew to some quiet world and just going dark, much like the Protheans on Ilos.

There are plenty of examples of happy endings that would work, such as The Magnificent Seven (It was sad that half of them died but the other had a happy ending).  Even Armageddon had a better sacrifice ending.  Sure it was sad that Harry Stamper died but he saved the world and didn't ruin the transportation system for everyone in the process.

I had intended to play through ME3 with many different Shepards but I just can't bring myself to do so.  I think I'll leave my Shep in his cabin with his LI at the end of ME2.  After all he's been through, he deserves that a lot more than what awaits him in ME3.

The German rear-guard is still holding out, we're covering the rest of the fleet for as long as we can.

Rest if you need to and come back stronger in the morning. The American fleets are in full force and we've got your back. We will hold the line!

Yeah I loved the Hoth and Overlord refs haha.. so many awesome sci-fi references.. they put EFFORT into that part, it shows.. the ending was slapped together, out of lack of time in all likelihood.  I'm mixed feelings on what CAUSED that lack of time now though.

Mass Effect died when they made the horrible patchwork ending.
Perhaps there will give a new ending, but does not change that was not the ending that had to be.
Now we do well to "hold the line" ... But we also know that the love of Bioware for ME is gone. No one who loves his work comes up with this ending ... and there is no way to turn horrible 5 minutes in a choice of art.
The world speaks of the ending of ME because it hurt ... why does not think or emotions.

Sorry my english.

If there is some sort of "April Fool!" PR stunt being done here (and I agree there's evidence of it), the psychology of it is questionable at best:

"Hey - won't our fans LOVE it if we trick the hell out them so that they get REALLY upset, then tell them [insert whatever the truth is here]? That'll be AWESOME PR, won't it? They'll be SO EMBARRASSED!!! Then they'll laugh and say 'you got us good - you guys rock' and we'll all have a BIG PARTY!!!"

:wizard:... <_<
