As they realize just how badly they've miscaculated, they'll have to address us directly. They HAVE to realize that their silence is only hurting themselves, that they can still salvage a lot of this...either by telling us that:

A: We have an ending done, this was just a publicity stunt gone wrong, and it will be out in a week after more of the world has had a chance to play.

B: We're going to change the ending because it's obvious our customers, our community dislikes what we have done. We tried to be clever, and it obviously didn't work out how we planned.

They have to know that all of this is because we love the series so much. I started this in ME2 personally...I loved the game so much that immediately upon completion I bought the first one to play...literally 5 minutes from the moment I saw the ME2 ending. It is, hands down, -the- best series for combining choice with excellent storytelling, hauntingly beautiful and unforgettable music, and quite honestly some of the best characters I've ever seen, hands down.

Bioware break the silence, please tell us what's really going on.

I'd be happy at this point with just a post saying "We want you to know that we are listening, we appreciate your feedback, and we are preparing a response."

Sure, it's a boilerplate acknowledgement that doesn't provide much information, but it's a gesture of professional courtesy.

Kinda like the end of the ME3 finale boiler plate ;)

We know you are listening, we appreciate your feedback.  Please continue to enjoy the ending, and by the Goddess, buy our DLC.

LOL -- well, OK, I guess I wouldn't go THAT far.

My friend, I know you mean no harm, and I know they were joking about it. But still...

It has been 6 days (and spare) since I finished the game. Even after all this time I haven't been able to even open the ME3 game windows again, I haven't been able to play any other game, and I really have been feeling depressed and gloomy. My friends have noticed (though none been a gamer couldn't know why), my coworks noticed as well, and there is just nothing I can do about it. Damn.. I even had nightmares, where I was the one running from the reaper near the light beam...

I know it's nowhere near real PTSD, but nevertheless, the psychological shock I suffered was way beyong anything I had expected, or een thought possible... I know it will go way, sooner or later (hope for sooner though), but to just let go of 1000+ hours played in the Mass Effect Universe, from reading all the comics, the news, and the excitment related to this last game, the antecipation, to be rewarded by a big middle finger and a FU, it just too much to handle at some moments.

Still, I am holding the line and waiting for Bioware to come clean with us...

Sorry that you're having such a tough time. Watch "Mass Deffect" part 7 (I think) on youtube to feel better Seriously. You have no idea how much you'll laugh. ^_^

here you go

Usual reminder: let's make sure to keep the Bioware bashing to a minimum (1200+ pages and everyone's been doing a great job so far!). Let's make sure to keep things civil and stay cool.

I know it's been posted a lot but I think we should keep reminding everyone every couple pages.

We don't want to keep nitpicking; it generally hasn't been necessary...but once every 10 pages or so would be good, or if things start getting uncivil or start going off-topic.

Regardless of the endings, I'm amazed at the awesome job Jessica Merizan is doing on her own personal twitter feed. Top notch community manager.

Already did. There are some little things that do make me feel better. Someone posted the clip for the song We're aint gonna take it yesterday and IA m still listening to it. Great clip and great song btw...

The worst part is not the disappointment, that's life. The worst part if the silence showing a total and utter lack of respect for the fans that helped them make the company what it is today. They forget that a company does not exist without its customer base.  But we will remind them of it, that's why I am still holding the line...

My friend finished the game before me and when I asked 'Was the ending good?' all he said was 'I'M SO ANGRY', a few hours later I joined him ;)

I thought I was over it fr a second there, then I decided to have a listen to the Clint Mansell music again on youtube. I now have PTSD.

Will this pain never end?

this x1000:crying:

I know you guys are trying to be funny and i get the PTSD  joke but  lets trying  avoid it we don't want to step on any  ones toes here... or give the nay sayers something to use against use.. like

"OH look at this entitled  mouther breathers they are making of  people with PTSD  comparing their dislike of a game to  serious emotional truama"

Just saying guys..

and yes Bioware owes Mansell an apology wasting  that damn fine piece of music ... on  those endings... man terrible,

I see your point. However I'm in the Armed Forces, I have friends with genuine PTSD, I'm sure they won't mind as they think the ending was toilet too.

Yeah, well, I'm under treatment for clinical depression; so I find the everyday use of that word to be a little inconsiderate as well. Inconsiderate use of PTSD is actually worse, because of the connection of specific traumatic experiences.

I prefer to say that people are going through the first 4 of the 5 stages of grief. Because it is SO true.

Agreed.  As far as I know, she hasn't been snarky or anything, and she is bound by confidentiality.

Dam we seem to be doing good, nearing 1200 pages! Hold the line people, we're doing great.

So if we can keep this up, will they offer up the promise a "patch" like they did with deception?  At least I voted with my money and didn't buy that one.  Now I feel helpless.

Honestly the first chance to vote with our wallet will probably be the first single player DLC. I'm assuming it'll be sidemissions pre-ending (Take back Omega ect) and that's when we can say no. It won't even be hard for me. I've bought every DLC for ME day one (except for the ME1 dlc) and played it through a couple times, but I can't see myself playing through any singleplayer DLC now with this ending. No matter how much ass it kicks I'll know Shepard will end up causing mass starvation and death with his rainbow death beam anyways so I can't see the point.

I have been on and off of this thread all day and think I've caught most of what's been going down. I haven't seen any new articles or other recognition from the media since last night and was wondering if I missed something. Hold that line.

I really feel like there's a free DLC or "unlock" coming in the daysweeks ahead. And if not, we'll deal with it, but I have to say that the fan creativity regarding the endings has really mitigated a lot of my distaste. The community is awesome. :D

Still, holding the line...

I hope so. Days rather than weeks - for their sake and ours.

How long before relief turns to anger?

The more I think about it the more I by into the indoctranation theory. If that is the case maby Bioware is holding something back for some reason.  I don't know, mabey I'm jus deluding myself.  I wish they would just come out and tell us what's going on.  Until then I will hold the line.

Not sure if anyone has posted this here yet (so I apologize in advanced if this is a repost!), but I found this on the Mass Effect reddit:

A compilation of all the ME3 Ending Videos: an interesting little video that shows all the different endings side by side.

Watching this just makes me remember how disappointed I am.
