So I briefly told a work friend a little about our situation because she caught me reading an article from one of the sites that expressed better than I can our grievances. She looked at me and said you know it's a game right?' And she didn't say it very nice it was a little condecending. I know why we're doing what we're doing. And I'm holding the line to the bitter end. Why did her remark sting so much?

Hmm..... I wonder if she has any hobby she feels passionately about, like gardening or painting or secretly reading harlequins late at night while eating bon bons?  Sadly, gamers as hobbyists are all unjustifiably reduced to the level of the fanboy/girl living in the basement.

Already got released there...don't forget, they're a day ahead of us.

Oh, no no no. I know. It is being released right now. It is the 15th there (in the US, it's the 14th evening).

Pick the renegade ending.  You'll at least get the 'sudden breath' bit at the end.

And the 17* endings

I don't know where Bioware got the 17th ending from. Wasn't it "only" 16 endings until like...yesterday? And we could barely find 2...<_<

I stopped after the 'beam' on London; so at least I didn't get to see the 'ending' in-game (I saw/read all about it elsewhere). I can recommend doing the same.

"It's just a book." "It's just a movie." "It's just a game." Different people enjoy different mediums. So to us, it's not just a game. It's our interactive story. Where our choices were supposed to mean something. That's why it stings so much.

They will never understand how much it means to us. It's much more than a game to us, it's a community; a family. Look around you, we have friends from all walks and areas here. We sit and discuss and speculate and argue and laugh. That sounds like a family to me.

I wonder what happened to The Consort in the end...

I also wondered about this. But didn't she leave the Citadel during the events of ME2? I hope so....otherwise she probably didn't make it.

She is gone to Neverland...

Or maybe she got stranded in Paradise Island..

Hogwarts???? with the space magic and such?

Usual reminder: let's make sure to keep the Bioware bashing to a minimum (1200+ pages and everyone's been doing a great job so far!). Let's make sure to keep things civil and stay cool.

I know it's been posted a lot but I think we should keep reminding everyone every couple pages.

This guy: he has the right idea.

Paragon choices, guys. ;3

Yep, if somebody has never had an emotional attachment to a certain medium (video games, etc), then it seems trivial to feel depressed over something that is "purely fictional."

So, she accidentally trivialized ("It's just a game") something that had great emotional significance to you. That's why it hurts.

I wouldn't hold it against her ^_^

LMAO. Oh this is awesome. And Garrus! <3 I have to say....I have gone through this cycle a couple of times. Just when I think I am dealing with it, I get pissed or sad again...and the stages start all over again. Oh well....

But I also think that it's reprehensible to lable something as a complete and finalized product, only to state later that it isn't, here, buy the real ending! What about people without internet connections? Or limited ones? I know for the longest time I couldn't download any ME2 dlc because of horrible internet connection.

This is my largest complaint if the ending was all a dream or whatever. One of best friends who loves ME doesn't have net and thus any "better ending" fix they won't be able to get, and this saddens me. Unless they sell it on another disk, but this is in and of itself a bit of a pain in the butt.

Because she didn't understand; it was her judgement of you with no prior knowledge.

It is only a game, but then again Gone with the Wind was only a film, LoTR was only a book, and she is only an ignorant coworker. The thing is, I bet she can't claim to have brought joy and pain to millions. Point that out to her next time and see if she has to say anything with any content.

I am now retiring to bed. I will cope tonight by grafting the end of Return of the Jedi to the end of ME3. Only It will be Joker shouting "Yahoooo" as he streaks out of the explosion instead of Lando Calrissian with the Normandy replacing the Milenium Falcon and Volus dancing around bonfires instead of God forsaken Ewoks.

Yub nub, eee chop yub nub *breath*

Ah toe meet toe pee chee keene, g'noop dock fling oh ah *breath*

If this does end well, I demand we all gather somwhere en-mass to sing the Yub Nub song in celebration.

I just want an ending that makes sense and doesn't feel like a modern art show when put side by side :P

I guarantee I'll forgive and go back to being a happy Bioware customer for Dragon Age III, The Old Republic and whatever else they come out with if they do that.

I finished the game and sat through the credits (nice to hear Faunts again) completely dumbfounded, and then went online to see if everyone else was as bamboozled as I was. Boy, I had know idea. And checking in on here and across the web, I just have to say: You guys and gals are fantastic. It's great to see so many people united on this. Cheers, everyone.

Let's keep it up and hold the line.
