Has anyone else noticed the odd simlarity to the story the endings have brought and how its been handled? Depending on what side you are on, the others can be viewed as the reapers.

ME1: the beacon is found (endings are released) this changes everything.

Change endings side: Say they are bad, want to change things.(Shepard finding out about Saren)

The council(Bioware) want proof(just see it as trolls and have no reason to believe them)

so they go off and get the proof they need and form the Retake Mass Effect group
Don't change side: Soverign attacks (the group is formed, challenging they're view that things are fine as they are)

ME2: The council  thinks its an isolated incident and stand by their "Artistic" vision (dismissing the claims)

Change endings side:Work with an outside group and get the support they need Cerberus(Child's Play)
Keep things the same side: The Reapers are coming (Group gets support and feels they should not be allowed to change things, destroying what they like)

ME3: Now that they see their worlds are burning the council(Bioware) want help to save everyone they can.(What did you like about the endings tweets) essentially getting both sides to placate the other.

Is this ironic or am ireading into it too much?

Lol there are millions of endings then. My shepard was bald in this ending... my shepard had blue eyes in this one.

You know, one possible way to look at the endings is that Shepard and everyone else were sacrificed to stop the cycle...that the next set of life in the Galaxy will flourish because of the current cycle's sacrifice.

That would still be a HORRIBLE ending, and I disagree with it fully, but it is an interpretation.

Maybe they count the Reapers destroying the Crucible as an ending. Gives as much closure as any of the rest, anyway... and manages to make more sense than at least synthesis.

the twitter stuff sounds a bit vague. and the worst part is you only get 128 characters to express yourself and opinions in a Tweet. I happen to have a lot of opinions and I am not sure about shorthand enough to be typed up and be understood. Here's hoping that they're listening to us about a better ending.
If this is to be the end, let it be our end- no last breaths, no open endings for a 4th. Good or bad live or die it has always been our choice.

I'm glad that there are so many other people wanting whats best for this game.

Bioware is a great game maker, when I first finished the game a few hours ago, I was confused and thought that I did something wrong and got a horrible ending....but now that i've read all of the comments I figured out that I actually got one of the "good" endings.

If this new dlc is really going to come out, I'll be super happy. If not....I'll be very wary for when Dragon Age 3 come out.

As it is, I've figured that I've had enough heartache for the week, all I'm doing now is homework.

Did just the same thing..... Exactly same. It's almost 3 am and even though I've been really tired I sat like glewed to the screen for the last 4 through the Cerberus base and then London...

And then I was so dumbounded than I thought "my choices are WHAT?", "the kid said WHAT?" and then I didn't remember which choice was what. but since I didn't want to replay the stuff again, I chose what looked like the paragaon choice (since my first playthrough was on paragon).

What is scary is that I have no clue what it did by only looking at the ending. then I wathced all the endings on youtube, and realised - they all look fricky the same. And I'm REALLY surprised that it doesn't matter what I did and how, because all it goes down to these 3 endings. I'm just too confused and too tired. And earlier today I was telling someone about this fantastic game with all the fun choices you culd make, and tried to explain about the Reapers. Well, I feel stupid explaining the end. And if I feel stupid saying that to someone who hasn't played the game, then the ending really is.. wrong. I'm not saying we should have one where everyone lives happily ever after and have babies with their LI, I'm just saying... what I did through all those hours in the game should matter.

I have NO reason to replay ME3 with my other characters and playthroughs from ME1 and ME2. None whatsoever. None. Because... they don't matter. If anything, this is the true downer of the ending.

I know! Then I could focus on school again (and sleep)! BioWare has literally driven me insane haha. 
But, really, I feel pretty hopeful. Your right, all this stuff seems to correlate pretty well.

They won't like ... you can trust me one that... people confuse there endings of vague because the don't understand some of the themes that are told in the stories... especially when the start  going heavy in the eastern philosophy... 

They are  going to look  this endings  and go.. "WTF"  

no I can't see it doing anything 2 us we will keep fighting and you have all come up with good points that make me feel better thanks as I said it was just a thought.

I don't know where Bioware got the 17th ending from. Wasn't it "only" 16 endings until like...yesterday? And we could barely find 2...<_<

Well the logic is this: 8 Endings depending on your favorite colur and your readiness. Now double it because of whether you blew up the Collectors base in ME2 or not. Where they get their 17th ending from however is beyond me.

Yeah, that's why I always knew there were 16th...not that they were any different. But then a 17th ending...?

17th ending is probably stargazer.

No Stargazer is, as far as I know in every ending.

Could be right.. but even compared to that ending you currently get.. why would a DLC just add one ending?
a fading to the credits after you talk to anderson, followed by "HAPPY ENDING" as subtitle.

what I heard the mako was not that beloved, that's why they actually removed it (and replaced it with that firewalker DLC, weird hoverstuff). So they heard their fans and listened to them.
I also liked the mako stuff, where you just could cruise with a 6x6 tank on some moon or deserted planet. Nice stuff.

They don't make everyone happy with their decisions (You never make everyone happy), but that is clearly no excuse for what they did to the end of the series.

Question - if they make us wait for months for any sort of confirmation, who here thinks they can hold the line for that long? So far it's only been a week, but give it 6 more... I LOVE the game, to the point where people say I'm obsessed (after reading these forums I'm glad to say I'm not the only one haha), but if I don't know if I want to hang onto this feeling of despair for months.
