So we can't get the ending we want after all?

I think my favourite part was the stupidity of the endings after the credits. "Shepard has become a hero and legend by ending the invasion of the reapers. Continue his legend with future single and multiplayer campaign DLC" (I know that it's not verbatim, but close enough)
How? He's dead or hideously maimed if you were lucky, and the crew are stranded god knows where. What DLC can you possibly provide to change this or extend his legacy without changing the ending? Or is he going to manifest miraculously somewhere?
I accually might have a possible answer to this.
after you finnish the game and watch the credits and so on you end up back on the normandy,
infront of the starmap.
just B4 you start the Cerberus base mission ( whitch ofc is the start of the retake erath mission).
could they have planned for a DLC ending? seems a bit likely if just considering that.
it would make more sence to end up with the choise of restarting the game with some perks for allready compleating it once (like keep items and skill-lvls and so on)
mabey its just me desperatly hoping this wasnt the end.
i cried during it all three diff endings ive did).
not becouse they were good. but becouse they were so bad i didnt know how else to react.
is this really the way they chose to end shepard and his friends story. giving us NOTHING.
i for one dont like to imerse in such a big story for so many years to have no closure to anything about any of the choises i made thruout the games.
if i wanted to guess the ending i would have watched a bad movie, made by someone trying to act smart.
a adventure roleplay character driven story is suppose to be telling.
i got scared after reding Deception, knowing Drew isnt writing for bioware during making of ME3
i belived it could still be good but now im just feeling.. sad and dissilusioned.

Lol there are millions of endings then. My shepard was bald in this ending... my shepard had blue eyes in this one.
If you calculate all possible permutations, for all variables (things like nose size, EMS score, the exact amount of platinum gathered in ME2, etc., etc., all included), it would probably escalate to the trillions.
The sad thing is that the 'differences' between the officially recognized 'endings' are about as significant as nose size and eyebrow depth.

Stargazer is only in the ending if you either import a Shepard or finish NG+.

Could be right.. but even compared to that ending you currently get.. why would a DLC just add one ending?BlackDevil06 wrote...
The 17th ending mentioned by masseffect twitter is probably the DLC ending.
a fading to the credits after you talk to anderson, followed by "HAPPY ENDING" as subtitle.what I heard the mako was not that beloved, that's why they actually removed it (and replaced it with that firewalker DLC, weird hoverstuff). So they heard their fans and listened to them.WvStolzing wrote...
Soppy as this may sound, I got so attached to the series, because it placed me in exactly the same fantasy world to which I'd fall asleep at night as a little kid.
I
even enjoyed the Mako exploration bits, because I find the landscapes
of other planets to be fascinating in itself. (Just check out what's
going on in the satellites of Jupiter; marvellous stuff.)
I also liked the mako stuff, where you just could cruise with a 6x6 tank on some moon or deserted planet. Nice stuff.
They don't make everyone happy with their decisions (You never make everyone happy), but that is clearly no excuse for what they did to the end of the series.
I thought losing the mako was because of trying to be less rpg more shooter

I'm glad that there are so many other people wanting whats best for this game.
Bioware is a great game maker, when I first finished the game a few hours ago, I was confused and thought that I did something wrong and got a horrible ending....but now that i've read all of the comments I figured out that I actually got one of the "good" endings.
If this new dlc is really going to come out, I'll be super happy. If not....I'll be very wary for when Dragon Age 3 come out.
As it is, I've figured that I've had enough heartache for the week, all I'm doing now is homework.
Hold the Line. Sacred out.
Glad to hear you're up to speed Commander. Any overarching themes you've taken away from seeing all the intelligence tidbits together? Some sort of master plan we've missed?

All I can read on different wikis are the story plots of the comics, but none mentions the uproar and changing of the plot (and what exactly was changed). Mind clearing that up for me?

We could throw them a bone yes? I know hold the line but we want them to be on our side, we want to be on their side we want to hold hands and be friends again too. So Canadian...whatever.

Exactly this. What's the point of playing again when you know the soul-crushing ending? It's completely sapped any replay desire from it and I've never had a game do that to me based on endings alone.
Still holding the line.

One could not make blue babies with Liara if one was dead and said Liara was stranded on random jungle island. Shepard is amazing but...does not possess THAT ghost baby making skill.

Correct, this has been my experience as well (though most sites were only listing it as a NG+, signifying once again that a lot of reviewers weren't concerned with taking one character through all three games as we were... maybe that's why the ending didn't impact them in the same way it did us, because they didn't have the same emotional investment that we did?).

I seriously wanna replay this game because of how great it was up until the ending but I'm just so turned off by it that it kills it for me.
Normally, I would be in my second or third game by now. But I can´t play it anymore. Not unitl it gets fixed. Makes no sense to play knowing how it ends.
