Yeah hey... vocal minority: They announced they sold 1.3 million copies of ME3 this week, already 45,000 people have voted that they don't like it, maybe 1000 more haven't voted and said so on here, using industry standard rule of 10 people for every 1 that complains that'd be 466,000 people didn't like it, or about 35% of everyone who BOUGHT the game, not finished but BOUGHT the game. The polls on the web with a massive margin of error they were 96 to 4... margin of error of even 20% still makes it 76%...
Yeah we may be a minority using the hard numbers, but we're your most loyal minority, the ones who would have stood with you through thick or thin, and you've been told you disappointed us, and are now basically ignoring those who don't say what you want to hear. You know where we stand. I refuse to buy any further Bioware, or EA products. I'm planning to consult with my investment manager at my bank to ensure that none of my money goes to EA stock. I am disappointed in the response.. Pretty much the only person who I appreciate here was the Community Manager, the Jessica one on twitter.. she didn't even speak here.. but whatever.
I'm holding the line. Angrily holding it now.
I can make a poll saying that there is mice on mars that have four legs. Does that make it true?
You're comparing voting on a scientifically testable hypothesis to voting on a qualitative human judgement. It doesn't make sense to base the acceptance or rejection of an objective, testable, quantitative hypothesis on a sampling of subjective opinions that bear no causal relation to the assertion made by the hypothesis.
However, it does make sense to base the acceptance or rejection of a qualitative hypothesis (eg. "Many people do not like the ending of Mass Effect 3") on a direct sampling of the very population that the hypothesis makes an assertion about.

I've been abused on the forum before. This isn't even close to it. The
vast majority of folks here have been very reasonable and have asked
good questions. It's this kind of environment that attracts developers
to participate in discussions, so the more threads the community creates
that are as mature and civil as this one is, the more likely it is that
developers (and jerks like me and John Epler) will want to come chat.
See what happens when we keep things civil? Hold the line!

I was about to post that here
Let's keep it civil, and remember: insulting Bioware/EA won't get us anywhere.

But once again, that doesn't mean their opinions will be ignored or dismissed out of hand. They are all still community members and have still given their feedback. Like if you don't believe in ghosts, even if 10,000 people tell you there's a ghost in the closet, you'll still be skeptical of a ghost, but you'll likely figure that something is up to cause so many people to beleive it's a ghost. Maybe it's really nothing, maybe it's Old Man Jenkins in a ghost costume, maybe a ghost really does exist.Vijay41086 wrote...

Thank you, but while they may be an indication of something, they are based on a self-selecting sample of a specific minority of our total player base. Specifically, the ones who feel the strongest about the situation and seek out ways to make their displeasure known. So yes, they are useful in gauging how our community feels, but no, not necessarily as "proof" of how the general public feels.Idiotking wrote...
Mr. Woo, I just ask that you keep in mind the polls that are floating around this site. They show that it really is a majority of people who do not like the endings.
Exactly when it comes to volultary polls, only those with a strong opinion(Usually a strong negative opinion) will respond so they aren't a good indicator of how your population feels. Any basic stat class will tell you this.
But all that data still has to figure in your decision-making in some form, however small.
Listen to mr.woo and stop arguing about polls.

Wait so the Stan Woo guy is talking--but as with usual PR people I have NO idea what he is getting at. (not an insult, you guys just speak waayy too politcally correct for me). What was he trying to say? Can someone help? I'm at the seat of my chair.
I would like a translation as well... only because I'm so overtired my brain can't process anything even slightly complicated...
He basically stated common sense facts we already know. Nothing he said was really damning or promising, just that Bioware functions as a business. One could make speculations from his comment as to what kind of business Bioware is, but that would be subjective.

The problem is that he is talking, but he isn't saying anything at all.
Basically he is just trying to con the gamers with some trolling, and refusing to answer the real questions under the flag "you feedback is important to us", and nothing else..
Still holding the line people...

Basically Stan is saying there's going to be an announcement (probably tomorrow, which is no surprise since they were going to announce the multiplayer DLC tomorrow anyway). I'm hoping they announce something ending related or there's going to be a massive boycott of this DLC just on principle, and I hate to see all that good effort go to waste over an easily correctable problem.
It'd be very nice if there was an announcement that isn't terribly vague tomorrow. That would be very nice
