I think since EA is the publisher, they dictate when the release date is, and even if there complications whether to stick to it or not...
If that is true, I really hope someone from Bioware is saying one of the EA guys "see, I told ya"

As far as I could piece it together, BW ran out of time because EA wanted to implement Kinect support and mutliplayer... they wanted to take more time, but EA wouldn't let them.

Agreed, if I was BW I would've delayed release and come up with a new ending, rather than rush it.... <_< it's all rather fishy to be honest... *attempts to sneak into BW, but is too far away from their headquarters*

If that's the case, I'd really like to torch EA, but I'll keep it civil, and resort to flooding them with complaints about what a pisspoor job they've done with such an amazing series, that in all honesty, should've been up for series of the decade... but nope, they had to ruin it with 5 mins of crap.... and a MP that's so glitchy its not even funny when you see someone in midair anymore, and a kinect thing that I've never heard anyone using it before... :bandit:

Ah yes, "free DLC". The supposed true ending that retcons the current mess and provides the closure the series deserves. We have dismissed that claim.

genious :P

anyway, can we expect an official statement in the next few days now that the game is in stores even in Asia?

I Fear we will have to wait until the 6th April at the PAX

If there is going to be DLC released i don't believe it'll have anything to do with an ending. But something that'll fit into the games storyline, like taking back Omega, or something like that.

I think you're right I mean Casey Hudson has said as much after all. Doesn't mean the ending doesn't suck ass!

In one of the Omega related comics it was already stated that the story will be continued in Mass Effect 3. And since it's not really continued yet, it will be in a future DLC. Well, as long as the ending isn't changed I see no reason to buy it. Same with all the multiplayer stuff.

Most who buy DLC are the fans ... If Bioware does not adjust the ending, the fans are not buying DLC ... and ends as a DA2. ;)

What was the originally leaked ending?

There are two thing I have heared. Theres one that is quite similare to the one we have now, except it includes a showdown between the normandy and harbinger. It also has some differences with the outcome of the choices i think... Can't remember :P

But before when we had Drew Karpyshyn as one of the lead writers before he got kidnapped by SWTOR, the ending was going to resemble Gurren Lagan actually ^_^ Drew got pulled of the project halfway to work on SWTOR instead, but the theme was dark energy as we have seen a few times in the series already. Basicly organics would eventually destroy the galaxy due to producing dark energy/dark matter (gurren lagan -> spiral energy). As you know that is where biotics get their power from. So shepard could either destroy the reapers and gamle on organics finding another way, or submit to the reapers allowing them to butcher all.

My memory is kinda shoddy so please excuse any mistakes or nonsense.

I still have a feeling that Bioware don't realise exactly how bad this situation is. In many ways it's a first in the gaming business, and their marketing section is probably scrambling at the moment.

Cant agree with you more why would i pay for dlc after all this, its not like it would benefit me in any way its not like war assets will matter if im not going to play the end of the game again.

To be honest I had come here to find out HOW TO REACH a better ending, not how to demand it. So I had been shocked twice.

I had the best options but they seem like some unsuccessful playthrough result.

When i compare the critics and the users reviews on metacritics i wonder if when you sign a contract with a professional magazine you accept a brainwash, that's just mad, it seem's they don't get the same game as the rest of the world or they only play the demo. But i forget that their true customers are the firms who make the games, not their readers...

I think it's best to assume it's a troll for the moment untill another source comes out, or Bioware actually says something on it.

indeed - bioware IMHO is incapable of responding (as i stated earlier, they are far to busy unintentionally kicking themselves in their private parts :D)

no, really - they were warned, that these endings were not well liked (by the people who believed that the "leak" (i do not know if it really was a leak...maybe that was planning all along?) was true) and still, they did not do anything, squat, nothing at all...why? even most dumb people get, that this is a lose/lose proposition...we lose (don't get a proper ending (an IMHO not even the best possible game!) and they subsequently lose because we do not trust them anymore, do not buy DLC (why should we, just so that we can prolong the game-time before dying anyway again?) and maybe stop buying their games alltogether....i just don't get it...

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE (@EA and Bioware)?

i mean, is it a necessity to be ruin every good franchise when you are EA (or Bioware)...I mean your start of SWTOR was bollixed, too, you buried Command and Conquer (the tiberium saga and damaged the red alert one!), you bollixed Dragon Age II (and IMHO even awakening, where you could not talk with your companions etc.)...as for the rest of your games:

they are as thrilling as a pair of old boots if i may say so - so why ruin the few things your company did well (even if it was more the case that one of your sub-companies did well IMHO...which is not your fault, but it is your fault if you choke bioware so much (rush them, don't give them the time, money, people and hardware that they might need) that the creativity we LOVE <3 them for dies :alien:, so please EA, let them do their job in the future...you are like that admiral in the James Bond Film "Tomorrow never dies" who orders a missile strike and then sees, that he is about to blow up a pair of nukes with enough plutonium to "make chernobyl look like picknick!"...*shakes his head*

as for "new endings":

get cracking and win some (if done well) your credibility back!

greetings LAX

Where did you hear that Bioware wanted more time but EA held them to the release date? I'm interested! After all, they knew how to end a game, once.

I consider myself a fan since the first game. I bought every game on release day.

But I did NOT buy any DLC. Why? Because I think this whole business practice is highly problematic. Like Lair of the Shadow Brocker or The Arrival that were practically storydriven DLC towards ME3 (not to mention From Ashes).

So now I ask you seriously, am I not a fan if I don't buy any DLC?

And yet they keep insisting that they are listening to their fan... I'm not going to believe that one till I see some kind of official announcment.
