Welcome aboard, Skipper.

Nope, there isn't.

Last I checked there was, but that was from Strat guy

The people with the actual game have pretty much confirmed there isn't.

Gonna go ahead and assume they haven't played through every possible way. Data mining can only do so much if a developer wants to keep something hidden. So if the strat says there is one I'm gonna go ahead and hope that is true.

I've gone through the files of both MEs and you can't just make something not appear if you have any idea about file manipulation, which the guy who has it obvious does.

He added: "I honestly think the player base is going to be really happy with the way we've done it. You had a part in it. Every decision you've made will impact how things go. The player's also the architect of what happens."

Whether you're happy or angry at the ending, know this: it is an ending. BioWare will not do a "Lost" and leave fans with more questions than answers after finishing the game, Gamble promised.

"You'll get answers to everything. That was one of the key things. Regardless of how we did everything, we had to say, yes, we're going to provide some answers to these people."

Sigh... Like someone already said "I love marketing".

Needless to say, you will be screwed over and your accomplaices will end up in a place that strongly resembles Lost.

Can somebody give me a quick summary of the "facts in evidence" so far?

Specifically, could you answer:
(1) How many leakers there are? (i.e. people to claim to have copies of the game and are releasing spoilery info.)
(2) What platforms are they claiming to run on?
(3) Have they actually played through the game itself or just extracted video files?
(4) If they've played through it, how much time have they spent with the game? Are they claiming to have experienced all the possible endings, or just some of them?
(5) Which of the leakers have actually posted direct evidence (screen shots, vids, etc.) so that we know that they're not just talking out of their asses?

Thanks!

You would think that a game with a story this big would have more then three endings. I hope that there is a reaper's dead, relays saved and a sunset with LI ending. I would let a few races get wiped from the reapers just to be with my LI. One being Batarians, since they have been set up as the universes d-bags anyways.

I don't care about the relays or any of that other stuff. I just want my shep to be with friends and have her friends not suffer.

Gosh, I wish that were the case. Or anything close to it. I would take the most cheesy ending over what we have now.

You guys are depressing. So nihilistic. It's not about the end, it's about getting there. We all knew this was Shepard and crews final journey, we knew they had impossible odds. We knew we wouldn't likely see any of them, or their ship, again.

No, we did not. We expected our choices to have meaning.

Funny you should mention that.  Many people wish that their choices in life would have meaning, yet they often don't.  Sometimes things unfold contrary to how you want them to no matter what decisions you make, and you just have to compensate for those events and live with them.  Does it suck?  You bet your backside it does, but it happens.

Yes, it'd be a great feeling to see a happy ending for Shepard and his allies, but with the stakes being as high as they are this time around, it certainly has to be acknowledged that the preservation of Earth and the rest of the galaxy may come with a terrible cost.  In the end, you may believe you made all the right choices, gathered the allies you needed, got all the weapons you needed...but the battle had to end with a drastic, shocking choice that would change everything.  It's certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

And please, don't waste energy telling me "this is a video game, it's not supposed to reflect real life".   That argument has about as much durability as a kleenex in a monsoon.  Bioware's games have been about consequences of actions taken, good or bad.  This is just the biggest example yet.

Given your games list, I'm pretty sure I know Bioware better than you. Fine, they are about consequences... so tell me how our actions from ME1 or ME2 have consequences in the ending?

Right, because the games list on my profile is the definition of what I know or don't know about Bioware or RPG gaming in general.  Whatever works for ya.

I never claimed to be an expert; I just don't believe that we're seeing the whole picture.  You can throw all the spoiler pics and scripts and file-scan stuff you want at me, but I'd much prefer to play the game and see it all in its proper context before declaring gloom and doom.  Unless the people in this thread have played the game already and can prove *on their own* that the spoilers were right and that no matter what they did they're going to get a specific outcome that doesn't end well for their Shepard and his allies, I'm not going to blindly accept the belief that our choices in the first two games had no meaning.

And even if the outcome is the same no matter what is done in the first two games, I think it's only fair to say that just like in life, some things may come to pass no matter what you do.  That's all I'm trying to say.

Not at all true, misdirection is common in a lot of file archives...though I have not seen it in this franchise it is present in others.

Fun fact: You ain't entitled to anything regarding the ending. Look at this and conceptualize in your mind Game of Thrones et al. Nobody is safe from getting deaded. I'll make the choices I want not because I want the 'best' ending but because they are the choices I made.
You have made the choice, you must take the medicine. I fully support whatever comes. Bad or good I made the choices not because I wanted sunshine and roses but because morally I felt they were right. If you made the choices because you wanted everything to be okay and now feel cheated because there is a chance that it won't, well tough. Life ain't roses.

That series is amazing! I love the author with balls to kill major characters left and right

I love me some Game of Thrones, but I think if its finale is anything like nuBSG's (which I'm sure it will be: doom and gloom is its calling card) people are still going to flip.

So in the case of an interactive RPG? People are going to flip.

GRRM said the end of asoiaf is going to be bittersweet, too. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/sad.png[/smilie]

1, Two: Tank and Xio, and one guy who claims to have the strategy guide but doesn't have all that much info on the endings (and what he does have may contradict the others)
2. I'm not sure.  XBOX I think.
3. Both, at least in one case.
4. I think he admitted that he went through it pretty quickly.
5. They both seem to be pretty legit.

I find it funny that people have managed to data mine in such a short time. This isn't NCIS where you've got Abby and McGee remotely controlling a suspect's computer within the hour. I'm not saying that this is the most diffuclt thing in the world, but I'd like to mention that there's no, "show me cool ****" button.

their marketing is great, they know that there will be ****storm after release, so they invested lot of efforts to sell as more as possible before release :) Wonder, how many pages will be in this thread until it will be closed or deleted quetly, or maybe if we will be lucky they give some comment on that.

We're looking at 99% odds it's true right now.

Fixed for you, you made a typo.

O_o

You think there's a 99% chance there's a happy ending where the Reapers are dead and the Relays don't go dark? I'm pretty exhausted so forgive me if I'm missing something crucial here, but...
