To amuse myself, while waiting for any resolution on this matter (or lack thereof...I'll probably 'wait'/keep tabs on info/changes 'til The Witcher 2's EE comes out, or some other shiny new game distracts me):
- I downloaded an ME2 save (and tweaked it a bit) which starts ME3:
- full renegade
- dead SR-2 crew
- all companions (except for Kasumi and Morinth) from ME2 dead
- dead council, rachni, etc. from ME1 ( I destroyed the collector base by tweaking the save, tho', as my 1st playthrough w/ my 'real' Shep kept it)

...should be interesting, esp. w/ a nihilistic-outlook type playthrough, esp. when considering the endings as they are

Man, you have to post the outcome in here when you get there... I was thinking about doing the same, but I just can't get myself to go back and play ME3 yet...

Umm...no offense, but, isn't the whole point of this 'discontent' the fact that the outcomes, regardless of effort, generally the same? 

But, yeah, it should be an interesting RIDE, at least. The DESTINATION is the PROBLEM, yes? 

I did want to play something else, but, yeah, like some of the other folks here, it's hard to stop thinking about how annoyed/angry/disappointed I am with ME3's ending (I will try to start up a game of Europa Universalis III later...try...le sigh)

I expected something like a Boron (on the X series):

See, I was fine with Tali's face...I mean, I would have loved to see it -rendered- on the model, but if that's how they envisioned her appearance, it really is a lovely face ^^

Well the whole thing after getting "nearly" Hit by Harbingers Beam is very obscure, starting with the fact that the soundscape is the same as in the Dream Sequences and Ending with the "Star Child", which I expected to go all Glados on me after experiencing the hilarity of it all

Yea if you turn around there really isnt a London. It's more of just a blur. Some of the trees from your dreams are there and you can sort of hear those whispers. The camera angle also changes and Shepard controls as if he is floating. Also they get rid of the UI like in the dreams. Finally just before you are hit by the Reaper beam there is a bright flash just like before all of the dream sequences.

I noticed I couldn't use all my ammo, I was thinking hey then I don't have to shoot anderson.

Does the stargazer remind anyone of Peter Falk in the princess bride? It would be hilarious to have a dlc where the game repeatedly cuts back to the grandson asking him questions.

Don't forget that Indoctrination is very hard to detect to begin with. For those of you who have the Prothean companion you get to see this first hand. And even he (actually) detects that you are a 'liar'. But he doesn't realize that you are in fact Indoctrinated.

Vigil on Ilos didn't need to touch Saren or Shepard to notice who was indoctrinated and who wasn't.

I have taken the same three saves, Good, Bad and Femshep. I have done ME3 on good, but now dont see any point in taking the other two through ME3.

Do you think that if I started back from ME1 with a whole new Shep, that by the time I get to ME3 there will be some DLC and a new/different/improved ending.
Like a race to save the galaxy between me and Bioware.

Who do you think will win?

If I were you  (actually I am on the same boat) I would wait until we have some solid piece of information..

Considering how the gaming industry has behaved in the past, it is perfectly possible for them to just say:

"Sorry people, but that's all the endings you will ever get. Now, please, go and buy the new Multiplayer DLC because it really adds to the story... - Have a Nice Day "

I will keep my hopes low in this case...

Whatever, I still think the VI only just detected your (at that moment) very low level of indoctrination. Also there is nothing at all implying that Leng is in any way at all Indoctrinated. Just because he works for the Illusive man doesn't mean he is indoctrinated. He could simply be a vicious bastard. Remember, you too worked for Cerberus

I liked Tali's face too. Doesn't change the fact that they didn't care about it enough to render their own and instead pull a stock photo from Getty images and alter it slightly.

Look at the fingers on the hand, they've just cut off two digits, they're too close together compared to quarian hands.

He does not, not in my copy of the game at least. He does so right before Kai Leng appears, either that or he has a sensor malfunction from asari ill treatments.

Shepard is talking with the VI on Thessia fine, and then it says indoctrination detected. Everyone turns and Kai Leng is walking up to them.

 

Skip to about 28 min. Shep has a 2-3 minute convesation with the VI just fine.

Uhm, this may be a stupid question, but why wouldn't you buy it right now if the announced said DLC?

Because at this point, I would have to wait and hear reviews of it before I spent another dime on BWEA.  Of course, if it's free like it should be, I will check it out immediately and hope they don't kick me in the quads again.

I just downloaded UModel and checked out BioD_End002_500Choice.pcc for myself to confirm that pic earlier was a fake and yeah it's a fake. I couldn't help myself, I had to check. I've never used UModel before but it wasn't hard to figure out if you need to check yourself. The object ID is HMM_ARM_GRD_MDL

No, I have to disagree.  Reaper presence detected was the Reapers right in visual range, while indoctrinated presence heralded Leng's appearance...that's actually pretty clear.

Has anyone read the Arkis alternate ending? This person isn't even an employee and came up with a rather canonical alternate ending which would make people happy. I know I would still have sheps which chose to sacrifice themselves or choose destruction or control....

If you're looking for total and utter completion on Veteran/Hardcore then you're looking at about 150-180 hours. That's a good couple of weeks. I say go for it.

Well, maybe not on Hardcore etc. But all the side missions, DLC and everything.
I also (although not the last week) have quite a busy life outside of gaming. I work, play squash and play/coach football. So It would proberly take me a good month or so I think. Maybe more.
