They would never admit that they screwed up. To admit that they screwed up means that they might screw up in the future and it will damage consumer confidence in their products. If anything they are scouring the fan forums for theories, which are acceptable to majority of fans, that they can incorporate into designing a new ending DLC. They will then let everyone know that it was "planned" all along as some quite of elaborate anti-piracy and marketing ploy.kongenial wrote...

I was thinking... could the lack of a Bioware response be because they've realized that they've got a huge problem and are scrambling to figure out just what they can reasonably do to fix it? ("Reasonable" here meaning what is possible given the cost of various fixes vs. what they feel they can spend)
True. But to me it would be reasonable enough if they just said "Alright, we screwed up. Sorry guys & gals."
So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Also, here a new thread created by Chris for ending feedback:
http://social.biowar...index/9992961/1
He created it... but then hasn't said anything in it since.
Doubtful that he will. Can't get involved in conversation in that thread because it will lose it's purpose. It's a comments page, not a discussion thread.
It's a 'favorite moments' thread that has nothing to do with the ending problem.
No. It's an "ending" thread that he's trying to turn into a "favorite moments" thread. Otherwise he should not have mentioned the endings in the title.

HOw many of you think "The Truth" DLC is the real deal?
It's BS. If there was a "proper ending" DLC, they'd just announce it at this stage to placate the fans. Instead they are toying with us. They have nothing, and just want to placate the fans so we don't flood the market with used copies and kill their bonuses.
I always thought the "real ending" DLC was a bogus and a fairy tale, but you went even further and made a fair point. The longer they delay us, the longer they prevent used copies sales, making more money in the way with the new copies....
Once again Bioware shows how little they care for the customers. We are not cows to be milked....

Kind of what I was getting at. But they know there are going to be very few "favourite moments" posts which done include "and then it went to hell in the last 10 minutes"

mass effect 1 - nice fight with story conclusion
mass effect 2 - weird but somewhat epic fight against human reaper with proper cliffhanger (reapers approaching galaxy)

If they need us to do a proper ending that will be released AFTER the initial game release then something went very wrong.

Been moody at work too. Expected I'd be sad over a 5-year story ending, but not the crushing disappointment.
Yeah, I was sure that it will impact me as well. But after the ending did what it did I just went full-on grumpy on everyone around, my love thought it was funny and over-the-top until she reached the ending herself and started doing the same damn thing. We're The Grumpies now.
I know right? I probably have some issues that a psychologist needs to look at given my reaction to this game. On the other hand, it shows what a good job Bioware has done that we are that invested in these pixels. =)

I will say it again, it is not wholly abnormal. Stories a VERY, VERY important and integral part of human culture and psyche. It is so integral that when they screw up such a basic narrative... **** goes down.

not talking about us writing the complete ending, i meant rather more complaining about stuff we were missing so that they are able to "compare it with their to do list".... just in case theyve missed something

Alas, Chris is a nice guy but putting that in justed moved more about the ending thread to there as well. I guess they kind of know this isn't going away although he did post more. If you haven't, go take a look.

TIM got to the citadel God insanity idiot kid without a scratch so there has to have been another way to get to that point without facing the end Reaper.
I dunno, in my game he looked pretty messed up. Like he was a Husk with Dr. Eva's skin overlay. His neck and cheek/chin were all wiry like a husk too. His eyes have always reminded me a Husk too though. Whether or not he was *always* that mechanical (I never read the books) or if he did that recently to himself, he still took a lot of damage getting up there for it to show through the skin like that.
Then again, since he was Indoctrinated, he wasn't as messed up as he could have been since he wouldn't have had to fight as much to get there.
And there's always the fan theories about the endings anyway so they don't really have to explain it.

I so badly want to play through all the games again and make a bunch of different decisions like saving wrex and romancing Liara instead. I just can't pull myself to do it till there are some new endings, it just wouldn't be worth it...
I already had another character ready to start with in ME, but now....I can't even bring myself to touch the games, I just get sad and then angry looking at them.
I really hope Bioware either has something to make this better or they are working on it now...because if this is the way they wanted the series to end, I'm not buying anything from them again.
