Does anyone here think that maybe EA forced BW to push the game out ahead of schedule, thus removing a lot of additional content and possible endings/cutscenes. I know this is a stab in the dark but I can't really place any faith in an RPG which is overseen by a game publishing company that basically made its money off yearly release sports games.

No, no, I know. I'm just clutching at straws.

Actually that is probably what happened. There are certain things in the game that could have been fixed with a month or two of work. Like all the collision issues, Shepard magically aquiring weapons, the ending etc.

The game probably had another month or two to go to be done done.

Check out my link, it's unconfirmed but I find it likely. www.gamefaqs.com/boards/995452-mass-effect-3/62230265

Bioware also spent way too much time and resources on marketing..

As I previously mentioned about 100 pages ago, this was fastracked through QA. I mean, that spot on Menae where the cliff instakills you. The fact that my shepard always had an assault rifle when he never actually touched the things? That was a problem in ME2, and they didn't fix it now either?

Something stinks and I don't want to believe that it's BioWare.

www.gamefaqs.com/boards/995452-mass-effect-3/62230265 There :P as I have already said, it's unconfirmed information.

Found this on the feedback thread. Just thought it was good to let people know about it:

random but related. watching a news segment about newest commercial for huggies diapers. commercials take money to make and run, yes? there are a lot more fathers involved in child rearing then there are Mass Effect players. the ad showed fathers as incompetent and offended some of them. it took 1332 signatures before the company pulled the ad and apologized.

there are 10s of thousands of people who are dissatisfied with the endings to varying degree. so why is less then 2000 people good enough for company as big as Kimberly Clark (selling to a much larger market no less), but 40k + people is a " small minority" and should be ignored? this is not a question to bioware as they do seem to be listening as this thread and others show, its a question to people who claim that bioware shouldn't listen.

just random musings of the day.

/continues to do the best to stay patient untill official statement.

And he is right regarding the the numbers. We are a vast majority, but still ignored and dismissed as if we were nothing other than kids stomping our feet and "demanding" a change just because we didn't "like or get" the ending...

That isn't as questionable as you might think, as they did exactly this with DA2 - which was why the game had SO many bugs.

SSV Mortis reporting in. Fully restocked with tea, some coffee and those strange sticky buns that take a minute to eat and three hours to clean off your fingers afterwards. We also picked up a shipment of Ryncol, which we have been advised is only suitable for Krogan and Scotsmen.

Sit Rep please.

The next time I presorder a Bioware game, i'll play it two weeks after release...

I think what we can all take from this is that no edition is worth our pre-orders: Numbers which they benefit from both with distributors and publishers. Just wait until it goes gold. That way everything that's supposed to be on the disc WILL be on the disc.

Holding the Line.

Actually I'll wait til other people tell me how the stroy is and if the ending gives closure. Dragon Age gave the ending I wanted. My PC lived, yet either one of my companion died or I set the sould on an old god in the world and might just regret in the future. Or I could sacrifice myself and make sure the others live.

I think short of "Archdemon wins, everybody dies", there was something for everybody.

Also the first time you go to the hospital, Ash's hand, up to her wrist, is inside of her stomach. Miranda's hair is glued to one position all the time so when she turns it's just wrong. Theres a lot of small stuff like this, then there was bigger stuff like Udina being counciler NO MATTER WHAT. Theres another choice that doesnt matter. That could have been a huge difference if Anderson was a council member when Cerberus attacked.

Or the best scene I saw, was right before the endpart and you go to Garrus location in the Normandy. You see him and Tali talking about the past years, making references to old lines e.g. "I still have my shotgun" or the bet they had going before going into Ilos.

Seems you romanced either Tali or Garrus. If you never romance any of them, you'll see garrus and tali in the middle of.. well not calibrations :D

And another high profile media blow for BioWare...

http://www.examiner....betrayal-review

"There’s hope that perhaps upcoming downloadable content will expand the
experience, but if it ends up being nicked-and-dimed add-on missions
that finally provide a satisfying wrap-up, BioWare will have ultimately
betrayed perhaps this gaming generation’s most rabid, devoted fan-base
."
Correct except for one thing: we're not a fan base.  We're customers.

I'm starting to think the gaming industry is shooting itself in the foot with this thinking, when we get to events like these.  Words shape thoughts; keep calling people "fans" and you really do forget they are "customers."  If you don't think of them as customers, you don't treat them like any other sensible business does.  It's been working so far, but really the last few years, and DLC, and pay-to-win, are just a brief blip.  Not sure if it's sustainable.  Whatever happens next, this is an historic event in the industry, and already making business news.

I think you are perfetly right. I always talked about us here as customers. And I think the gaming industry, riding a wave of money in the last decade or more, does not yet realize it. It's one of the few that is still not treating their customers as customers. It looks like a way of preserving them as fans, but at the same time, disregarding them as paying customers.

The prevalent attitude is to say: "You didn't like it? Tough luck, uh?". It's not that they can customize the game to each person's taste. But they can't ignore such a wave of critics like that.

I saw, and read it. It would be nice. There is also a nice ending here.

But this is not the point. The point is what we were given and the lack of information from the devs, probably due to NDAs from the publisher.

The proposition that we are just a very vocal minority is utterly ridiculous, I just DARE BioWare/EA to do a survey via their origin-system about the opinions of the players about the ending, the results won't be very surprising...
