I've seen a number of screenshots from them and they are, based on compression artifacts and resolution, looking very authentic. Sure, it's possible to fake them, but I doubt anyone would go to the trouble.

Can somebody give me a quick summary of the "facts in evidence" so far?

Specifically, could you answer:
(1) How many leakers there are? (i.e. people to claim to have copies of the game and are releasing spoilery info.)
(2) What platforms are they claiming to run on?
(3) Have they actually played through the game itself or just extracted video files?
(4) If they've played through it, how much time have they spent with the game? Are they claiming to have experienced all the possible endings, or just some of them?
(5) Which of the leakers have actually posted direct evidence (screen shots, vids, etc.) so that we know that they're not just talking out of their asses?

Thanks!

1, Two: Tank and Xio, and one guy who claims to have the strategy guide but doesn't have all that much info on the endings (and what he does have may contradict the others)
2. I'm not sure.  XBOX I think.
3. Both, at least in one case.
4. I think he admitted that he went through it pretty quickly.
5. They both seem to be pretty legit.

Much obliged, Tietj.

Maybe there's more evidence than this, but I dunno, that seems far from definitive.  If these people played through the xbox edition "pretty quickly", how could they possible know all the endings?

Is this really all the evidence that we have our panties in a collective bunch over?

Honestly, if he managed to get it done in "23" hours, he must have gotten a ****ty ending. To complete ALL the side missions and main missions, it takes you 30-40 hours depending on difficulty. ME3 is supposed to be bigger than ME2.

And yes, this is all the evidence people have. Most refer to Tank as the main person.

The SEs came out days ago.  It doesn't take that long to data mine the game nor play it.  The SE guy said his first play through took 23 hours.

only 23 hours? that's less than half of the supposed play time, i doubt you can get the "best" ending by skipping so much, the more i hear the more i think this guy is lying

if this is the endings wonder what the other races will think of shepard in the long run they all joined up with thinking he could save them and he leaves them all strandard on there own planets with no space travel not sure I would be that happy with shepard

I would think that the defeat of the reapers might be eveident however when the attacks stop, or they see reapers that were laying siege to their planets keel over and kick the bucket.  Thus they would know Shep succeeded, thats gotta count for something.

Sorry, wrong. If you look at the CookedPC folder, there's a movie section. The movies all use the generic bik file type, which is easily examined through Bink video, a free download. He probably just searched for all the .bik files and went through those.

The other structures are propriety Bioware file types that cannot be used for movie storage.

The bink video files are actually in the BioGame/Movies folder but they only give limited indications of possible outcomes (for Mass Effect 2 at least its only the major choices like CollectorExplode or CollectorRadiation). Nothing about which crew member dies or even shepard, this is told by ingame graphics. If Bioware went the same way for Mass Effect 3 just going through the bik files doesn't give you all possible outcomes.

I'm *so* sorry I mixed up the file structure...

Except for a prologue file would be a bik file without a doubt due to size limits. I honestly don't care if you believe me, be as optimistic as you want.

First off, I'd like to say that I'm withholding judgment until I have the game in my hand and the credits roll (and a few minutes after that!). Also, I don't have a huge problem with all of the endings, except for the part where the Normandy is stranded on a godforsaken rock and can't ever see Shepard again.

But what KILLS me is it seems that my tremendous amount of time getting literally perfect playthroughs on ME1 and ME2 (I've got to have at least 12 save files from ME2 alone) has apparently been for naught.

What was my reward for doing EVERYTHING right in the last 2 games? Making a not even that good ending be "easier to get?" The hell?!? I'm not saying I need a perfect ending where I fly off to the Planet of Happy Blue Children with my LI, but I'd like for the characters I have invested time and emotion into to not be completely shafted and miserable for the rest of their inbreedy lives.

My 4 years of painstaking perfection over these games shouldn't sum up to me having to do "less" in this game than a person who's never played before to get the same depressing ending.

He added: "I honestly think the player base is going to be really happy with the way we've done it. You had a part in it. Every decision you've made will impact how things go. The player's also the architect of what happens."

Whether you're happy or angry at the ending, know this: it is an ending. BioWare will not do a "Lost" and leave fans with more questions than answers after finishing the game, Gamble promised.

"You'll get answers to everything. That was one of the key things. Regardless of how we did everything, we had to say, yes, we're going to provide some answers to these people."

Sigh... Like someone already said "I love marketing".

I'm looking forward to the followup interview which reads these statements back and then asks, "okay, knowing what we know now, how do you explain?"  Sit back and crack a beer, the amount and quality of varsity question dodging and subject obfuscation necessary to pull that off would make even Bill Clinton want to take notes.

I would love to hear the answer to the " BioWare will not do a "Lost" and leave fans with more questions than answers after finishing the game, Gamble promised."  If this is the case that there is a Lost like ending the biblical rage from the fan base will truly be epic.

If it's true it may not even be sellable on eBay. There's really no harm done cancelling it then buying it at a later date. You certainly don't lose money that way.

Having read some of the leaked script info, the way dialogues set you up for the happily ever afters with your Lis was finally the thing to convince me this is fake.
Or you need to play the game thoroughly to experience the best ending.
Or you need to import your Shepards.
Or whatever.

Thats what i'm thinking too. Why would they be off on some planet to die alone?

wait a sec, did the leakers say that the death of shepard/crew/squadmates or stranding normandy was in-game? If it is than there is no way that these endings are 100 % accurate.
As we know that only some parts of the Ending from ME1+2 was in .bik video files and the rest is in-game.

Except for Andersonin ME3, there wasn't any characters on the .bik video files.

I find it funny that people have managed to data mine in such a short time. This isn't NCIS where you've got Abby and McGee remotely controlling a suspect's computer within the hour. I'm not saying that this is the most diffuclt thing in the world, but I'd like to mention that there's no, "show me cool ****" button.

The pc version has leaked too and people have gone through it and these are the only endings.

That, sir, is not true. It has leaked but absolutely no one could play it. There is no cr*ck for it!

How could you mix up something like that? Because you're lying and don't even have a clue.

Now, can you gtfo please? It's been proven you didnt saw screenshots, never saw the actual ending and didn't read a thing.

GTFO please.

Yeah i'm not pleased by the turn out of these events at all. Bioware has been lying to us this whole time about certain things via tweets and what not. Off the top of my head, someone once asked Casey on Twitter if they can marry their LI, and Casey tweeted "We got you covered."

Oh....sure you do.

You know what, Mdoggy1214, Casey may be right!  I was listening to an interview with Raphael Sbarge (guy who voices Kaidan Alenko) and someone asked him to do a voice over of Kaidan saying something in regards to maybe a situation that alot of the ladies will look forward to and he said, "Marry me, Shepard."

Funny that when Roger Ebert says this, the entire internet gets their panties in a bunch. But when a company writes a dark, bittersweet ending that pulls no punches, suddenly we don't want games to be art at all.

Fun fact: You ain't entitled to anything regarding the ending. Look at this and conceptualize in your mind Game of Thrones et al. Nobody is safe from getting deaded. I'll make the choices I want not because I want the 'best' ending but because they are the choices I made.
You have made the choice, you must take the medicine. I fully support whatever comes. Bad or good I made the choices not because I wanted sunshine and roses but because morally I felt they were right. If you made the choices because you wanted everything to be okay and now feel cheated because there is a chance that it won't, well tough. Life ain't roses.

That series is amazing! I love the author with balls to kill major characters left and right

I love me some Game of Thrones, but I think if its finale is anything like nuBSG's (which I'm sure it will be: doom and gloom is its calling card) people are still going to flip.

So in the case of an interactive RPG? People are going to flip.

I just don't think you can pull off the same thing in an interactive choice based meidum you can in a dictated medium like battlestar.

In the case of battlestar they at least built that ending up via cryptic hints over the entire 4 year run.  In the case of these endings, there's just a lot that doesn't make sense (I'm assuming the game will add more context... but we're really missing a lot and one would assume the data miners could get us the dialogue and sound files as easily as the rest they've turned up).

The Normandy being anywhere other than the fight with the entire massed fleet makes no sense.  It seems very tacked on.  Like they wanted to have this cool "tell me about the shepard" moment, and so the normandy HAD to at the last minute just end up somewhere else.  This is not helped the leaker's statement that he brought EDI with him on the final mission and she STILL ended up stranded (what, did she teleport to random planet?).

I also think they've really made a mess of everything in losing the relays... everyone's fleets are at earth for the final battle.  The leadership and major resources of every system are concentrated at earth.  Basically, we have the better part of the galactic community represented in this fleet... now stuck on/at earth.

Of course, if your theory about all mass effect technology breaking proves true, every crew member on every single one of these ships is doomed (can't land or manuever), and earth is in for a nice Endor situation as this massive fleet eventually sucumbs to our planets gravity well (honestly, this is already going to happen due to the massive fleet of 2 Km long ships Shepard destroys...).

Many choices made in the course of the game are basically pointless... Save the Quarians?  Save the Geth?  Save both?  Too bad, soo sad as the destroy option destroys the geth anyways, and without the geth downloading themselves into the Quarians suits what's left of the Quarians are in for a rough ride.  Doesn't help that most of their ships and resources are now stranded in the Sol system.  Cure the genophage?  Wonderful!  Without the ability to expand as their population goes into hyper-growth mode they will essentially consume themselves in massive wars over the limited resources of the broken worlds in their system.  Assuming mankind ever returns to deep space, Tchunka will be twice the hellhole it currently is.

Well done!  It just seems... very poorly thought out.
