So we can't get the ending we want after all?

In all seriousness this was probably one of the least satisfying endings I have ever read/heard/seen for anything. I did everything right, I've had max Paragon scores in all games and my choices are limited to 3 options regardless of what I've done? Basically my options boil down to Control Reapers, Destroy Everything or some sort of Wierd Green Glow? All 3 versions of which boil down to galactic civilization ending for at least a few thousand years depending upon how long it takes whoever has the Conduit from Ilos to reverse engineer a working Mass Relay from that or for someone to create a viable alternative.
Shouldn't, as the Reapers creator, Sparkly Blue Imaginary Starchild AI have a self destruct switch that would only kill the Reapers but leave the mass relay network intact? Even if this requires the completion of a long or tedious sidequest arc and requiring specific choices to have been made in all 3 games? I'd even accept this in DLC form and pay mone for it.
Furthermore, why the hell was the Normandy, with my squad that I deployed to London with in a Mass Relay? And why were Ashley and Joker smiling given that one's almost certainly never going to see the man she loves again and EDI's also dead putting Joker in a similar position.
TL;DR: Stupid ending is stupid.

Looks like it's time to uninstall the series.
To anyone to think that that was a good idea... how come? The mother of all Deus ex machina ends??? The most forgetable souflé ever writen? The color choice with a few words as a side dish? No explanation on what happens to worlds you visited and fought for; people you loved or had something to do; your crewmates for crying out loud???
Maybe it is time to uninstall and let BW and I part ways.

Also I would like to add, that I heared Drew had a completly different view on the ending than the one we have now. It would be more like Gurren Lagan for those of you who know about that. Just swap Dark energy with spiral power.Benirus wrote...

The Irish fleet can't report for duty until after St. Patrick's Day on Saturday when we count how much of our forces we inadvertently crashed into giant ditches following a "healthy" night out on Omega.
Just make sure you get off Omega before the relays blow up. I wouldn't want to be stuck there when the food runs out and the cannibalism starts.

Hi! This is my first post in the forum (I didn't think I'll ever use the EA account so don't pay attention to my nickname).
First of all I want to report for the European fleet! (Writting from Spain so forgive if my english sucks a little)
When I saw those crappy endings with space magic I was devastated. The trilogy which I've loved for so many years suddenly was turned to shreds and I lost any appetite for replaying any of the three games. Then I came to the forum and that apathy turned into happiness. That's thanks for all of you "entitled gamers" because I saw I was not alone, that people was complainning and that I had a right to complain too, because you people are making gaming history not only showing that we aren't just ATM machines for the companys but clients intelligent enough to know when something is a rip-off. Also because of the Child's play donation. I don't know if we'll get another ending but in the worst case we'll have collected thousands of dollars for charity. That speaks greatly of everyone of you.
I wanted to say that imo there are three possible outcomes for this:
The neural green: Bioware launchs a DLC with the actual/new/rewritten endings. We have to pay more money to get the game to an ending so it's a rip-off BUT at least the ME trilogy will be remembered in a good way and not as "The worst way to ruin a story". I'd have to think hard about buying anymore Bioware products.
The rebel red: Bioware says the ending is fixed and tell us to go **** ourselves. ME3 will be remembered in a bitter way as a fail and a rip-off. (But reading some of the interviews to the ME staff it doesn't seem like they care as long as it's remembered.) I won't ever buy anything from them again and I hope I won't be the last one.
The paragon blue: Bioware launchs a FREE DLC with the actual/new/rewritten endings. Bioware is like "We were kidding! We were your friends aaall along!!". We are all gratefull and, as far as I'm concerned, Bioware keep to be one of my favorite game developers and they show they really care about their fans.
Anyway I think all this silence and witty comments from them are just like "Let's buy some time so the Japanese have time to buy some games". It seems that we stopped existing when we handed our money to them,
Sorry for the long post but after 24 hours waitting to be able to post I had so many thing I wanted to say.
Hold the line and help the children!
Welcome aboard. We understand your anguish and we're glad to have you. Every person counts here, none of our voices fall upon silent ears. Stand strong, we hear you and understand.
Otherwise, as an aside, I don't think I would be happy unless it was a free DLC and a flat out apology and reason for why they did it in the first place. An apology to their customers, not their "fans".

Seems the space magic takes about 5 seconds or so to pass earth, and assume the space magic is what destroys reapers. Earth has a diameter of ~1.34 *10^-9 light years. Assume Rannoch is ~80,000 light years away (about the opposite side of the galaxy). Good news! In about 188 cycles, @ 50,000 years a piece, the reapers in Quarian/Geth space will be destroyed. Whew! There's hope [/sarcasm]

Drew Karpyshyn is not even with BW anymore. Maybe he saw this coming, and maybe that's why he anounced before ME3 was released. But probably not. He probably supports it. At least publicly.

This, this, THIS. This stuff was all in the bag before they found out how near-universally despised the ending is. It doesn't mean they can't still listen to reason and meet consumer demand for an ending that makes sense. Hang in there, everybody! This line isn't gonna hold itself!
