People, I know your grief and I know you're angery right now, but THIS is the moment where we need to make a stand THIS. If you fall back now, BioWare has won, and they will keep doing what they've done to us now.

THIS IS WHEN WE HOLD THE LINE!

The problem is that BioWare has lost just as much as we have by shattering the most amazing sci-fi game universe there was. I'm all for holding the line, but BioWare isn't the enemy. They've lost track, and hopefully our reaction will remind them of how this universe they created has sparked dedication! That it's a universe that's worth more than a three-colored outro sequence with no substance at all.

Hold the line.

I completely agree with you, but it seems like, after this news, people are starting to give up hope. This is not over.

Bioware: impossible, free markets!
Fan base: you forget, each of us are a nation and together we form something so far beyond your own understanding that your simplistic minds can only label it as free markets.
Fan base: it is clear your intellect is lacking and you are incapable of grasping our power. This transmission has concluded.....

What can I say? GREAT POST!!!

now wez got that nerd rageImage IPB

Nerdrage is a force to be reckoned with.
None may stand against it. It will shatter every PR department, sunder any official stonewalling, tear through any forum, and lend the united nerds the power to pass sentence. Know this: There is nothing on all the internet that can stay the hand of Nerdrage when it is brought against them. It may unmake companies. It may sunder the thrones of chairmen. Let it be known to all who betray their loyal fanbase: Nerds tend have a lot of disposable income, and we decide what the hell we do with it.

... I'm going to play some Planescape: Torment now. That one had a sad ending, but it was goddamn beautiful and made some damn sense.
Will be back to hold the line.

I think it's time for a boycott of EA/Bioware games. Let me explain why.
Instead of giving us a straight answer towards why the ending happened, or whether there would be additional content, they told us to wait.
They told us to wait, until the $3 app came out that explained some 'creative thinking' behind the ending. In short: "If you want an answer as to why, here, buy another product explaining it." That's such a betrayal of their loyal fan base that they need to think about the EFFECTS of what they do. I don't know about you, but retake ME3 facebook needs a 'Boycott Bioware' page now, expressing how money central they've become at the cost of their talent, fans, and intelligence.

speaking up to boycot the company which gave us one of the best triologies I know of is just wrong. stop with that crap please.

No, we are speaking up as customers not players. We are asking for our rights, not begging for their charity.

And I have been a fan of Bioware/Black Isle for a very long time, and I doubt many of you have been as loyal as I have for a longer period. (I have every single release and all but 2 DLCs)

The problem is that enough is enough. They made a fool of us in DA2 and took no responsabilities for their actions. Now they once again try to make a fool of us in ME3, and they just want us to forget and keep buying their products for the sake of buying ...

I say NO! Either they come up with a proper apology to the customer base/fans and a logical explanation to the whys and hows of their mistakes, or this is it for me and many others..

This is not a boycot, we are not asking anyone to STOP buying BIOWARE products, we are not demanding anything in return. All we are saying is that IF THEY ARE UNABLE to deliver what they SHOULD deliver, there is no reason for any of us to keep buying from them, since we will know for sure their product will always be sub par and unfinished...

This is the line we must hold..

SO, HOLD THE LINE PEOPLE!!

Can I not buy any BW products?

I'd rather not buy any more BW products.

Especially if Mac Walters will be attached.

Yeah Mac Walters is officially dead to me. Yeah Casey Hudson signed off on the final product, but it was MAC'S product he was signing.

The fact that anybody thought releasing the game with that ending was a good idea is well as baffling as the ending itself. Still I always thought it was a possibility. I didn't completely buy into the conspiracy theories so this doesn't really change anything for me.
If Bioware wants to please it's customers they will release an ending DLC. Plain and simple. If not my money will be spent elsewhere.

I bought DAO a year after it's release because of all the good word of mouth and was not disappointed.
I bought Mass Effect 2 the first week of release on the PS3 again because of good word of mouth and was not disappointed.
Because of my love for these games I preordered DA2. Well I didn't hate it there was some disappointment. That was my first preorder of a video game ever.
After DA2 I decided not to preorder ME3 and not to spend extra money on the collector's edition or DLC until I played the game first. The demo and all the press for ME3 got me excited for the game so I bought it the first day. I enjoyed 95% of the game but the ending left a sour taste in my mouth, and I did feel it ruined any replayability of the game. The chance of me buying any DLC for this game or any more bioware games is slim to none at this point in time. I'll wait and see if they can change my mind because there is still time to fix this.

Still holding the line.

I still can't tell if they're pulling off the greatest worldwide trolling in history.
They're obviously not stupid, or bad writers. They're incredible writers! There were definitely flaws, but look at most of the stuff before the last 5 minutes of ME 3. Incredible!

So I find it hard to believe, even with the $3 app thing, that they seriously thought this was a great ending.

I know I've been harsh on them, but the fact is, the only reason this has caused such an uproar is because it is so much WORSE than we know they can do.

So even after a week, I'm still horribly baffled.

I'm wondering does anyone have an estimate as to how large a part of the consumer (not fan) base we are?
I mean, will we boycotting it even be more than an annoyance?

They've just confessed that THEY DIDN'T BOTHER TO WRITE AN ENDING.

Revolting

Er... link?

Er... the 'final hours' thingy?
What it says, is that 6 months before release, they were clueless as to how the story would end.
Then Mac Walters scribbles on a piece of paper --- 'lots of speculation... for EVERYONE'

and THUS they decide not to bother finding an idea for a decent ending, and they think they can get away with that, if enough mystical mumbo-jumbo was thrown in at the end.

That's exactly what they're saying.

Ah. Well, I don't see how that changes things. We knew they were okay with the ending, or they wouildn't have released the game. We've been asking for them to change it. We're in the same situation as before.

Or am I missing something?

This flies in the face of the people who believed BW was holding back their 'real' ending all along. I'm assuming you like me never bought that so there's really no change for us.

Casey Hudson, the guy who rather want Call of Duty players then be supportive of the fans who made the company into what it was...has just proclaimed that any DLC's will occur during or before the end event of the game. I hope that be a true ending but well, if it would be a "real ending after indoctrination try".....it would be after the ending in ME3....which the DLC's wont aim for

So we will never know what happended to ANYONE nor the unity of the galaxy which is gone in the ****ty ending we got where the relays broke down. So much for uniting the galaxy and bringing forward a message of accepting and uniting with others to overcome the unstoppable.

You can my friend, for you are not alone..
But believe it or not, this blow has only made my resolve stronger...
Now we stand tall, we stand proud,
As men, not as mice..
And we show them we will not go way into obscurity
We will be remember, if not by our victories,
At least by our choices...

So choose, remain faithful
