Scribbling on a scrap of paper is obviously the best way to write the end of your trilogy.

Obviously.

That's how all the best do it. You didn't know that? That's how J. R. R. Tolkien and Peter Jackson ended LOTR.... oh wait no.... no they actually put thought and effort into it, nevermind....

The things is if they dont change it, for many the entire franchise will be remembered for its bad ending, not its great games.

Sorry, but this "boycot" stuff just sounds like a retarded riot. I definitly do not agree on boycotting bioware.
There are several hundret posts in this thread who say something like "please remain civil", and a boycot is anything but civil.
I admit, "all" I have from bioware is MDK2, whole ME triology (except books and comics and the ME1 dlc), so I can't say about the DA series.
Thing is, Commander chinFuzz said boycot, and I disagree on that.
You said something else where I can sympathise with.

I can understand, though it might just be poor wording on their part. They don't mean an actual boycott such as  "to combine in abstaining from, or preventing dealings with, as a means of intimidation or coercion". They do mean that they feel we should no longer invest in BioWare products because of this debacle. It saying that enough is enough, we are done being treated poorly and we are not longer going to financially invest in them. Do I agree? I'm still on the fence. If they don't fix this? BioWare isn't getting any more money from me, period.

You are very right though, we need to stay civil. Everyone remember that, do not lash out, to not start name calling, trolling, or flaming. We are all better than that and we, as a community, know better than that. Hold the line.

By offending Bioware we would only be proving them right in first place.

We may speak up our minds, we may speak out our hearts, but we must remain polite and civil...
We must not give in temptation to blackmail them (one thing is to tell them what you will do if they decide to ignore us, another is willingly demand something in return for you to keep buying their products)

As said a while ago in this thread that I have been here before once. It was during the NGE wars in the Star Wars Galxies MMO. Players vs. SOE. No need to say that we lost.

However this time things are different. As in the game we managed to unite the entire fanbase into one single entity. This time there are enough of us to be heard, and heard we shall be as long as we do not give up or give in...

Stay Strong,
Stand Tall,
Stand United

I don't get it. Does this article say something what really happened with the Normandy? Is it only a dream - the crash on this planet? Or what happened with your squad? I'm so confused o.O

I am so very disappointed now, and for the second time in a week it's something Casey Hudson has said that's done this.

But now it's not just disappointment. Now it's rage. Rage on a level only the best trolls in the world can inspire. Rage like the rage my team felt when Kai Leng insulted Thane after his death.

I am going to hold the line forever, and the rage will be my fuel. I'm going to channel it into winning this. I'm going to be here, and anywhere else ME3 related FOREVER until this has been FIXED. I will NOT LIE DOWN.

Right after I punch the wall until my knuckles break.

I'm guessing that they do know about it. I would be curious to see what ends they would support us, though I'm also wondering if they're bound by part of their contract not to speak ill of the game.

The charity is possibly one of the single best-things I've seen in a long time from gamers. It's humbling to be able to count myself amongst the rest of you, and I am glad to see that gamers - as a whole - have come so far as to be able to jointly create something so breathtaking.

Thank you, everyone.

Agreeing with this person. It's hard to be the good guy when things make you angry but if you succumb, what makes you better than a troll or a flamer? We need to be civil. So please, remember that Bioware did wonderfully with the game until the end and that's what we need to change - not Bioware itself.

If that is the price we must pay for a change in the game industry, it's  sacrifice worthy of the great saga it is..

What a more Epic ending for Mass Effect than to be the reason players got united in a mass scale for the first time in history to ask for changes on the company/consumer relations?

This is a milestone for us gamers. Let's not let it go unnoticed..

HOLD THE LINE! SHEPPARD IS LOOKING OUT FOR US!

tis is what happend

need to repost, especially this pic:
Image IPB

This picture explains SO much about the quality of the ending.

As a Gamedesigner-to-be (still studying) I can not believe this is the actual written notes that determined the ending of the game.
I am being taught by professionals from the industry as professors and everytime we have to work on a project we have to write down a clean documentation, the process of how we got to where we are, we need to present all that to the profs, go through quality control.

And a big studio is handling their biggest game released so far in this manner?

I stand by holding the line. Artistic freedom I can excuse. Poor writing of a narrative is something that I will fight.

Or as Shepard would say:

"EACH OF YOU HAS TO BE WILLING TO DIE!

ANYTHING LESS, AND WE'RE ALREADY DEAD!"

doesnt make it any better TBH, this just means they planned for the ending to be ****
THEY WANTED IT ****, and that just makes it worse

doesnt matter when the concieved that monstrosity, the fact that the thought even entered their minds is bad enough

Ok I'm back and what have I missed? Throw in the Towel?? Hell no; didn't leave anyone behind in ME2; damn sure not going to just take a dream scene as an ending. BW knows we won't; is letting Japan finish to wait and see just how badly people dislike this ending. People are coming and letting them know the ending sucks.

Honestly as I posted earlier; they know its not a great ending and thought it would polize more than this. No; last count lastnight - 80%+ hate the ending. Love the game - but its the ending that killing it for us. They will be releasing dlc to finish it; as we're at a cliffhanger.

As I said also; BW could be doing something very insane possibly brillant at the same time.  They put this in as a mind "£%"; they are loving all the free PR; bad PR is still PR - but its dangerously getting close to turning on them.

We hold the line; we will not fail......

I think it's time for a boycott of EA/Bioware games. Let me explain why.
Instead of giving us a straight answer towards why the ending happened, or whether there would be additional content, they told us to wait.
They told us to wait, until the $3 app came out that explained some 'creative thinking' behind the ending. In short: "If you want an answer as to why, here, buy another product explaining it." That's such a betrayal of their loyal fan base that they need to think about the EFFECTS of what they do. I don't know about you, but retake ME3 facebook needs a 'Boycott Bioware' page now, expressing how money central they've become at the cost of their talent, fans, and intelligence.

speaking up to boycot the company which gave us one of the best triologies I know of is just wrong. stop with that crap please.

No, we are speaking up as customers not players. We are asking for our rights, not begging for their charity.

And I have been a fan of Bioware/Black Isle for a very long time, and I doubt many of you have been as loyal as I have for a longer period. (I have every single release and all but 2 DLCs)

The problem is that enough is enough. They made a fool of us in DA2 and took no responsabilities for their actions. Now they once again try to make a fool of us in ME3, and they just want us to forget and keep buying their products for the sake of buying ...
I say NO! Either they come up with a proper apology to the customer base/fans and a logical explanation to the whys and hows of their mistakes, or this is it for me and many others..
This is not a boycot, we are not asking anyone to STOP buying BIOWARE products, we are not demanding anything in return. All we are saying is that IF THEY ARE UNABLE to deliver what they SHOULD deliver, there is no reason for any of us to keep buying from them, since we will know for sure their product will always be sub par and unfinished...
This is the line we must hold..
SO, HOLD THE LINE PEOPLE!!

Sorry, but this "boycot" stuff just sounds like a retarded riot. I definitly do not agree on boycotting bioware.

How is a boycot uncivil, if a company sells you a horrid product and then ignores you, are you really going to give more money to them?

Fool me once, shame one you, fool me twice shame on me. If this isn't fixed, I'm not ever buying a Bioware product again, period.
