I will be in Japan tomorrow and I can already hear my friends moaning about this game. One of them has already warned me that if the ending is terrible he will throw his xbox off the balcony of the apartment.......I'm not sure what to do. If I don't tell him how bad it is, he will be throwing a large sum of money out the window soon...

The difference between Forbes and the gaming websites is a simple matter of objectiveness. Gaming news website authors have little ability to remain objective; their opinion is the only way. Forbes actually employs talented journalists who have the ability to write objective articles without coming across as sounding like pricks.

The kicker is places like Kotaku or IGN always preach about gamer entitlement being such a bad thing, when their attitudes make them come across as the entitled ones.

It's hilarious reading this thread really - most want a better ending - few are sure what the description of a better ending means. A quarter to a half demand Bioware produce a new ending they refuse to pay for and the other half says they'll gladly pay - I'm in the latter category.

Everyone uses - Hold the line - for what? A paid ending? A free ending? A new ending? More and more fan written ending popping up that will never see any light beyond this thread. Those I don't even bother to read - none of them mean anything unless BW decides to make one themselves. We're so fractured we don't even know what our demand is -

Oh hell, even I can answer that... NO. Would we all be posting praise? Hell yes. Are we all in the dumps now? Hell yes.

Frankly, a lot of people would be going about their daily lives and maybe thinking, "what if I start a new character in ME1 and play it all the way through."

On the contrary.. We want an ending that meets the quality and standards that Bioware has come to be known for.  We're united in our dislike for the current drivel that was spoonfed to us in the ending presented.  They know they can deliver better, we know they can.. we're holding the line and not letting them off with a pass.

Since finishing ME3, I've found the banter and general good humour of this thread has really helped to put a smile back on my face.  Instead of playing ME3 again I've been using the time to keep an eye on this thread which is quite hard when it moves so fast.

If I had the ability I would have made a motivational to express the sentiment:

A picture of Captain Kirrahe giving his speech followed by 'Holding the Line - More enjoyable than replaying ME3'

It really does help. It's a support group really. And we ALL hold the line. In unity.

yeah.. imaging that.. instead of a great game, Bioware has unified the entire globe.. Not sure if thats worthy of a complement or not though..

I don't think people really mind *how* they fix the ending, just as long as they do it. I don't care if its a dlc or if its free or paid for. I just want the option to end the game with Shepherd alive and reunited with the people she been fighting with and for.

Just an ending to what is one of the best gaming stories in History.

So we can draw a line on it and say yeah my 100's of hours of Mass Effecting were worth it.
I guess if they make it, it'll be up to each of us as to payment etc.

But just an ending will do for now.

I would say the Request not demand is for the choice we were told would be a part of the game to be a part of 100% of the game.

I also dont want to replace the current ones I just want more and I want a chance of choosing how the story of the shepard I created ends thats not an unreasonable thing to ask I think

Good, because i sadly need to go and get some sleep before i go to work tomorrow....
At least it will give me a chance to forget about the horribelness of the ending of the greatest

No matter how hopeless things seem remember that it is better to fight and lose than to believe defeat is inevitable and not resist at all. And defeat is not assured, we actually have a chance to actually get some proper resolution, which just makes it all the more worth fighting for.

No matter what others say, no matter what cheap shots are taken at us, and no matter how much Bioware gives the naysayers a wink and a nudge we will be remembered for directing our negative energy into something positive and constructive, and we will all always remain comrades.

But has anyone read the April 2012 edition of Game Informer?

In it's Timeline section it marks the 25th of April as "Mass Effect's Story Continues," stating that:

"Commander Shepard's story is expected to end in Mass Effect 3, but that doesn't mean that Mass Effect universe will cease to be. Lead writer Mac Walters is continuing Mass Effect's story in a new ongoing Dark Horse comic series that focuses on Shephard's crew. Each issue takes a look at a different character. The first story is about James Vega."

That dun sound too good, Jim.

I'm not going to buy a comic in order to get a proper ending to the game. To be honest, I always hated all this merchandise thing (books, comics, etc.). I just want to get my games and have the full story.
