Today has been a hard slog in the mud and rubble of Londons streets. But tomorrow we will prevail, but before tomorrow we must hold the line!!!

Night night fair and brave men and women!

Gamer sites need to be friendly with video game devs(their sponsors).

I know, but you gotta read the last line, it's not only rude but he doesn't really look into why we are angry. These 'reporters' give us all a bad name :crying:

It looks like the people who actually liked the endings have created their own facebook group to support the endings www.facebook.com/DemandABetterEndingToMassEffect3#!/groups/206027856164956/ I am really hoping to see some real discussion by the people on the other side of this issue as to why they do like the endings.

But after reading The Final Hours, I'm done.

Wait a second,

I'll reiterate the point. The Final Hours was NOT made by Bioware, NOR does Bioware get money from it. It was a documentary effort by an interested person, nothing more and is a bit dated.

Glad to have you ^_^

Exactly so it DOESN'T disprove anything.  Stay Calm. Stay Strong. Hold the Line

Agreed to all.

Hold the line, demand an ending which does not make all decisions made along the campaign completely irrelevant.

Haha god this place really is like a support group of some sort. When I hit those horrible endings, I hopped online to see if I just didn't get it and people were saying the endings were deep masterpieces but thankfully no. It feels surprisingly good to know that I'm not alone in my feeling horrible over this ending.

As for what it is we want, though many see things in different ways I think we all agree that the ending should just be reexamined by Bioware. At the very least I think we want to discourage future games from taking such a terrible approach towards ending not just a game but a whole series. People to this day complain about Halo 2s ending but at least there people knew there would be a freaked sequel. In this case this is it. This is the end of.Commander Shepard and probably the crew. Hell it might be the end of all Mass Effect games. And THAT was how they sent us off!? With a vague last minute space-god-child-AI Deus ex machinations thing?! With an uncertain end for the whole crew and zero closure? A terrible idea.

Personally I think the best ending would have been something similar to Dragon Age Original. DRAGON AGE ORIGINS SPOILER WARNING At the end of DA you are given an actual choice at the end. You could be noble and sacrifice your life or you could allow your warden companion sacrifice himself. Finally you could let Morrigan have her way with you and nobody was sacrificed, though you have to question her motives and whether the world would later regret your decision. Three clear choices, not just whether you prefer your space magic in cinnamon, mint or blue berry blast flavor. Sacrificing yourself actually meant something when it was an actual choice. In the end of ME3 there wasn't a choice in that so its made pointless. Players who wanted a darker ending in DAO could sacrifice themselves and the end would be their own funeral, watching the friends you made and possible love interest in attendance while you're given a heartfelt eulogy. Those who wanted a happier ending (for their characters personally) could survive. They'd be given further closure and choice by ending the game where they can go through and talk to their friends, often being asked what they plan on doing next whether it be settle or keep fighting or whatever. Finally it all ended with a slide show explaining how some of your actions played out after your story was done. It was IMHO the perfect ending that offered most players what they wanted and a whole lot of closure. You certainly didn't have a huge uproar over the ending like you have here. How many of us would feel much happier today if that were the kind of ending we got?

Exactly this, I have been using DA:O as basically an example for alot of people in the past few days. The brilliance of the ending of that game is it allowed you to have a bittersweet end, but also the "triumphant hero" end. But it came at a price, and it was down to how you had set up your character if she/he was willing to pay that price (also depended on if you had kicked Morrigan out I believe?). That was honestly what I was expecting, and what I thought they were going for with the War Assets. Some sort of "easy way out, but bittersweet at the same time" or "hard way out that comes at a cost" sort of deal.

And yeah, I was actually flabbergasted they didn't put in ANY sort of epilogue at all about the characters. Which honestly makes me a bit suspicious. I REALLY hope that they don't have some sort of alternative medium, like a comic or that horrible looking anime series planned out to be the "conclusion" for the characters. Continuation? Sure, I can handle that. But definitely not a conclusion please...

Amen brother, when I heard about the subpar ending at first I thought it would just be DA:O style closure with text paragraphs over an image, and I was ok with that. Sadly this was not the case.

This is for the people who may be loosing hope. I am not very good at writing anything insparational

Everyone who is loosing hope and saying that they will never change it...well they can and will change it if we keep going. As many of you know Fallout 3 had its ending changed by pressure by the fans; but what many of you wouldn't know that the book series Sherlock Holmes had its ending changed by Arthur Conan Doyle. This was not becasue he wanted the write more this is becasue the fans put pressure on him to change it and continue the story.

So why can't EA or Bioware change the ending? Well the answer to that is they can; if we just keep it up and keep pushing we will get them to change the ending

Ubi concordia, ibi victoria

As soon as they say "shut up" I scream "CENSORSHIP!" so I don't even bother to read some low level jounalism. This isn't journalism. We have the right to express our opinions, as they do, but they can't tell us to be quiet.

They can call us whatever they want, just ignore them ;)
Keep holding the line!

The Final Hours was NOT produced or released by Bioware. It is not a statemement from them on the issue in any shape or form.

The information dates to several months before the release.

That's assuming Shep is on Earth....

And in most Indoc. theories I've read, Shep is still on Earth. She/He never left.

that would mean nothing in the citidel happend oh man this is confusingImage IPB

Exactly. Though your choice would still matter - depends on if you gave in or refused indoctrination. And again, this is only one of the Indoc. theories. Some believe it really did happen but that God Child is Harbinger...and therefore he is trying to trick you. As for the explosion, it's hard to know where Shep if it really did happen.

- I need to finish Mass Effect 3. Do you know how i can do that?
- Perhaps. I control the Bioware. They are my solution.
- Solution? To what?
- Overpriced DLC's.

The people at Forbes are looking at it from the cold prctical, realistic pint of view of marketing and sales.   These people as with others, are looking at it from an emotional point of view. The problem arises though since unlike marketing and sales philosophies, emotionally based stances can be created from nothing and represent anything. However, it is empowering, and satisfying to take an emotional stance. Much more so thaan taking a practical stance.
Still, it is only by taking a practical stance that we will be able to prevail in this endeavour, as emotional stances can neither be supported nor faulted, and therefore, go nowhere.
