Right at the beginning of the game you get a message from him saying he's in the citadel hospital and you should stop by for a chat. If you're at Thessia then you're WAY past the point where you'd be able to meet him I think.cotheer wrote...
Just a quick question:
Am i supposed to, at some point, meet with Thane during my playthrough?
I'm asking, because, so far i haven't found him anywhere, and i've already finished the Thessia mission ?_?
So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Also I'm a bit confused about the marauder shield thing. Anyone willing to explain it to a newbie to the line?
The last Marauder you fight before entering the beam, thus the last enemy in the game. With the way the name bar looks, it's fairly easy to read it as Marauder as a first name, Shields as a last name. And he tried to protect you from the endings, and we should all honor his sacrifice. (His, and the Three Huskateers)
I'll never forget those Huskateers, they actually killed me when I thought it was a dream sequence. If only I'd exited the game at that point....
Wish it were a dream sequence. Not sedated, thus by Inception rules, death gets us out of the dream. But I guess I've gotta ask, how does dying in an indoctrination attempt work? Am confused.
Well it depends which Indoc. theory you're talking about. In one, everything after the beam didn't happen. It's all mental so Shep can't die. As for another Indoc. theory, Shep will die in the indoctrination attempt if you don't pick Destroy....though there are some that believe Shep can still live anyway.

I think you get an initial email from him but he is in the hospital standing by the window throwing punches when you first see him. If you back after that first contact, he's sitting in a chair by the window. If you talk to him at that first opportunity, you'll see him later in the game too. Though imo it's quite tragic.

I am watching MST3K right now to make me happy.
My favourite still has to be "The Thing that could not Die" followed closely by "Attack of the The Eye Creatures"
There have been so many good ones, hard to choose lol.
I'm always happy when I meet other MST3k fans! I love them all but the ones that stand out right now are probably Final Sacrifice (I lived in Canada for 10 years) and Outlaw of Gor. The song and the Fabio scene are amazing.
The name's Rowsdower, Zap Rowsdower.

Not really, you could always just restart. I mean if they fixed the endings the game would be perfect and in that case who wouldn't want to replay it?
What's the point in replaying it when you're just going to replay it the exact same way?
I can't dis-associate my true self and play the opposite.
Only thing I would do is change it so I go and TURN IN the missions on the Citadel before it gets altered (after Cerberus Attack). Still needed to do the Hanar Diplomate and That [name] Von for the Shadow Broker assets.
...need to remember to make a 'hard save' and not just rely on Quick and Auto saves for the final mission
That works too~

I brought Liara (my romance) and Garrus (my bromance lol) with me in the rush to the beam. After I got up from getting hit by harby they were'nt dead on the floor anywhere around me? they just dissapeared? I had my EMS over 5000 was that suppose to happen? Did they live because my EMS was high?
Honestly? Make up a story about what happened to them. It will make far more sense then what actually does happen to them.

Hell, that's the only reason my Shepard chose destroy. He knew he was killing the Geth he helped free and ascend to true sapience. He knew he was killing EDI and Jokers love. He knew that the Quarians would have it rough without the Geth to help repopulate, but damed if he was losing Tali.
That's the only reason he's still breathing; and how much food which she can actually eat does she have left? It doesn't bear thinking about....
And the flashback is about your LI from ME1. When Liara told me in LotSB that she always knew Tali had a thing for me but wanted me for herself, well. I never forgave her.
Interesting point about the flashback being your LI from mass effect 1... I didnt import my ME1 to ME2 so technically i didn't have a LI. I picked tali in ME2 though.
Then maybe they hazarded a guess given you have a thing for aliens
I was wondering about trying to have a ME1 playthrough with no romance, and then getting with Tali in 2 and 3 and seeing what happens there. I have a suspicion it might be who you left behind on Virmire if that is the case...

I admire the persistence, and the faith and what not, but at this point?
Its like somthing Garrus said, right now, theres only blind optimism.... and i, like him, hate being blind....
The saddest thing yet, is to know that, by the end, every last one of you will be ignored, this whole ending fiasco will be swept under a very massive rug, and BW will move on without such an amazing part of the community.
I salute you Shepard, you fought your hardest, you took us on amazing rides, laughs, tears, some spectacular engaging moments never before seen on a videogame, only to end like this, you will always be remembered as the ending you were given, RGB, not for your other deeds.... and you deserved better.
This is your legend, and its tainted forever, so long BW, kinda hope you burn for this, courage people, im outta here.
One of the great things about being human is that we can have hope, and hang onto it. Don't lose it; either way, people are taking notice.

No, to me it become clear by the fact they made a sticky asking people what they liked about the game and what they didn't like about the ending. All of the "official" quotes from Bioware leads me to believe this is the ending they intended and are shocked people don't love it. I don't believe they have a secret DLC coming that was there all along. Best case scenerio they may scramble to put one together a la Fallout 3 in a few months to quell the anger. I hope I'm proved wrong but I don't see anyting that leads me to believe anything more is coming (save for maybe an mmo dlc or some other such bull****)
The problem is, you are right, IMHO you are 100% right...
There are no secrets DLCs or patches, there is no secret ending, this is just it..
And if they get a "new" ending together, it will be rushed, poorly done and only to silence us by saying "Here, you have what you wanted, bot be quiet and go buy the new releases..." or as the endgame says "BUY THE DLC, BUY THE DLC... BUY THE DLC..." <--- And that's indoctrination..
According to another post Bioware got most of everything right, and I agree with that person. There were flaws, glitches and a few plot hols ( I still can't get over Udina being in the Council), but all that we could come up with explications of our own and move on. In the overall the game hit close to the heart, it was touching and beautiful, only to be twisted in the last moment into a travesty of a story...
I am still waiting for an Official statement and I will wait for as long as it takes. But until I have a formal apology for letting the fans down and a garantee that it will never happen again (though it already did in DA2), I am not buying anything from either developer or publisher...
This is the line I will hold..
And I am still holding the line..
Udina being Councilor is actually explained in one of the novels, Anderson resigns in disgust.
I thought as much. That's actually the explanation I made up in my mind. Could you tell me which novel it was so I can go back and read it?

Yes. But what we don't know is if Bioware wanted them dead but I guess if they did, we would've seen it. But apparently there is a reason why your squadmates "teleport" to the Normandy. I am REALLY looking forward to their explaination on this.

So, quick question, what are people hoping to get anymore? Are there still people that believe some surprise ending, the "real ending", is still coming or do you guys just want a dlc at some point with an ending worthy of the game once the developers realize how ****ty the ending truly is? Just wondering, I've kind of lost faith that the ending we got isn't the real ending. Anyone still holding hope?
It's pretty much the only thing I actually have any hope for in my life. Sad but true.

Yeah, even on an ME1 -> ME2 -> ME3, it defaults Liara if you had no ME1 LI. Not sure why they didn't have it work for ME2 ones, maybe the chance for all of them to end up dead in the preceding game and they didn't think it was worth it? No real idea here.
