Bioware. Please. By next week. Please. I love the games, they're incredible, I don't want this anticipation to hang over my head for the next month or more.

If you had nothing planned tell us. If you have a true ending, then release it.

I'm so confused.

Wha..?

Isn't the "end" open to interpretation? I think she's just saying what she get's from it...

I suppose, but this crosses a line, even for her. That's not a matter of interpretation, it's a matter of ignoring what the game presents to you altogether.

EDIT: Unless, oh, she wants us to think they were like, knocked really hard by... the wave of energy now behind them... and pushed into that speed? Or uhh... something?

Wait. So there IS a possibility they crashed somewhere in the sol system, even at another place on Earth? Because my parents kept saying that the place where they crashed looked like Amazon rainforest...(I know, don't take them seriously, but...we don't know how Amazon rainforest looks in the 2100s)

If you look at her whole twitter feed you see shes basically telling people they can interpret the events of the ending any way they like.   "I want the crew of the Normandy to be rescued!"  "Then go rescue them!"  It's rescue them in your imagination not dlc.

Maybe we should just ignore all their tweets until it says "DLC on the way" or "No DLC on the way" for sure. <_<

If you haven't yet heard about Marauder Shields, go to: http://social.biowar...index/9980598/1

And to lift our spirits a bit, and help to hold the line, here's... My first comic about Marauder.

Full version: http://i40.tinypic.com/34eouuu.jpg

Hold the line! And never forget the truest of the true, the marauderest of the all final bosses!

I love you, sir or madam.

Who's all for Marauder Shields as a secret squad member?  Cause' I sure am.

Hell yes!  I recall liking the cut of his gib.  Y'know, while he was repeatedly shooting me in the head.

*sigh*  If only I knew then what I know now.

And I thought the ending would be something like Battle For Los Angeles...

The battle was far from over in the movie, but it gave us a sense of closure...

Detailed, eloquent, and almost makes me want to become a liberal.

Some of us have already started writing a manifest regarding our demise, however I decided to wait a little longer for an official statement from Bioware/EA. If there is no such statement then I will think about taking further actions.

Also keep in mind that we have began online petitions outside of this forums. Here is mostly to talk about our feelings and hear the news from the outside world, in the vain hope Bioware will say something, which is highly unlikely anyway...

This.

Many of us have written or are writing our letters for BW. Some of us are donating, others are in contact with media.  A lot of us are here to support others and to make sure we stay strong in face of ridicule.

It's all here if you have been following it. If you haven't then do not presume to pass judgement. There's a good fellow.

At this point, I'm over it. I really am.
Every jerk out there calling us "entitled whiners", lack of response from BW, the general lack of caring from BW and EA.
Lying to your fanbase and acting like you are the best thing since sliced bread is not a good way to keep people happy.
I'm so happy that Child's Play has gotten some good out of this all, but I just don't care about it anymore. BW and EA are not getting anything more money from me.
It's that simple.

Agreed.  I was all for holding the line, but the complete lack of response from the company to whom I gave my hard earned cash is completely unacceptable.  I save my money for other game, I read some Mass Effect fic for catharsis, and then go play some Skyrim.  Life goes on.

By doing so you are behaving exactly as they expect us to behave. They want us to give up and leave...

From day 1 when I joined this movement I knew it would be hard to get an answer, I KNEW there would be no hope for a better ending, and I knew they would blatantly ignore us for as long as they could.

But this is not why I am here. I am here because I am sick of companies acting as if we were nothing else than money bags. I am sick of companies doing whatever they want without any regard for their customers,  and I am sick of their attitude as soon they will be demanding us to buy their products again..

This is why we must hold the line. Not for the game, Not for the ending, but FOR OURSELVES, FOR OUR DIGNITY AND OUR RIGHTS AS CONSUMERS..

Now more than ever is the time to stay strong and stand together...

Damn you, that was strangely inspiring.

...FINE I'm staying.

Although why they'd WANT me to leave and take my money with me is beyond me.  Seems like bad business.

If it makes you feel better I've often switched between hopeful, incredibly depressed, and determined within the past few days.

You are the lucky one. I am still in shock even a week later from finishing the game... I wonder how I will feel once the shock wears off, if it ever does....

Image IPB

Shock is...

When you leave home to work out of town for a week, come home and find out your wife left, took the kids, the funiture is gone, you only have a mattress and bed frame left, and you have no clue where they are.

Then, you check the door the next day to find a forclosure notice because your wife who was supposedly paying it from your bank account missed a few months.

You go to the grocery because there is nothing to eat in the house to get a few things, the debit card is declined, you pull out the credit card and find its declined.

Well, how long does that feeling last? A long time.

Do you ever forget it? No

Yea... much like the shock of the ending of ME3...

It just didnt fit with the quality and consistency of the rest of the story.

I thought that the scene with Anderson and Shep in the end was truly fantastic.  When the arms of the Citadel opened up onto the raging battle outside, they comment that they've got the "Best Seats In the House".

Too bad BioWare decides that it doesn't want to show us any more than that, and gives us the Magic Expository Space Ghost ending instead.  As evidenced by the "Final Hours" documentary-app, the lead writers at BioWare have proven that they have no idea what they're doing when it comes to story resolution (the rest of the game you were just fine - thumbs up for that).  Its all good -  time for the mod, writing and machinima people to step up and lend a hand.  BioWare won't give us the ending we think Mass Effect deserves?  The fans will make our own.

So here's what the machinima/mod/fanfic community needs to do:

1. We know we can parse out a Mass Effect save game file, so we can examine the variables for the player decision points throughout the three games.  Identify the major decision points.
2. As a community and using your mad machinima, writing and coding skills, create short cutscenes that show our companions, love interests, allies, war assets, whatever in action in a final fight for Earth.  Here's a few examples (this list was inspired by a poster on another internet forum, so I don't take credit for it, wish I could remember where I read it):
  • We have the full Krogan backing for our war effort?  Show us a squad of rampaging krogan as they tear through ranks of reaper forces.
  • Quarian and Geth at peace?  Show them working together in the fight.
  • Rachni saved?  I want to see how terrifying the Rachni were in ancient days by watching a swarm rip a Reaper apart.
  • Jack's squad saved?  Show Momma Jack leading her kids in a psychotic biotic assault.
  • Citadel troops armed?  Show Bailey leading C-Sec troopers fighting off reaper forces, protecting the civilians of the Citadel.
There's a ton more, you get the idea.  Don't tell us, show us!  Cut loose, this is the triumphant ending.  Not enough War Assets?  No problem, throw in some tragic scenes as well.  Its not all sunshine and roses, this is the war for the fate of the galaxy.

3. Create another scene that incorporates the Crucible/Citadel structure.  Does it make it into a super Reaper-killing weapon?  Buff all the allies for maximum Reaper mashing?  I dunno, doesn't matter - the community will give a million ideas, pick one that the majority likes and go with it.  This is it - the culmination of Shepard's life's work.  Make it count.

4. Create a scene that shows the end of the battle and Shepard's fate - heck, create many scenes, as we're going to let the fans pick "their Shepard's" ultimate fate.   Want him/her to die a triumphant, but tragic death?  Check.  Want to settle down with your LI and have lots of bouncing blue babies or that house on Rannoch or whatever?  Check.  Adulation of the masses in a Star Wars-like medal scene? Sure, why not.  Again, make it count.

4.  Some coders out there write an app that allows us to import our saves, right after the "Best Seats In the House" scene, parses out the save game file, and strings all the above the video clips matched to our choice variables in the savegame together into one long battle scene.  Overlay it with some awesome soundtrack and some post-processing effects to make it all pretty.  Have that app give us the ability to select our Shepard's ultimate fate via dropdown box or whatever.  Give us a big "Play" button.

5. Grab some popcorn, push "Play" and voila!  Fade to black, sit back and enjoy the show.  This is YOUR Shepard's ending. We players now have the "best seats in the house".  We now have a final scene to our Shepard's epic saga that is well and truly influenced by each of our unique choices.

Every game has modders and machinima artists; I don't see why ME3 can't. It won't be as professional or polished as the stuff from say a Blur Studio or whatever.  It won't be 100% officially canon.  But think of the opportunity - you can give something to the community more than just gameplay stuff - you can give all of our Shepards the heroic end that we've chosen for them and that they deserve.

Some people have seemed to be losing hope, so I made this thread:  social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/355/index/10034429

Please keep pushing for a better ending,  because we love the series.

And we want to love Bioware.
